I love this park, dogs can be off leash, you can walk around the park 5 times to hit your 10k steps and it's unlikely you will see the same person twice during it, so you don't seem like you're doing lonely laps! It has the most scenic pond, which is clean and full of happy birds. Precious atmosphere and the little shop is affordable and quaint with incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. My favourite place for a walk, beautiful in every season! Recommend!

We went to Hesketh Park to do a bit of walking and found that the paths were nice and level and easy to walk along and no steep areas so ideal for prams and wheelchairs, there is a big pond with lots of ducks and some nice fountains.

This park is absolutely fantastic, beautiful sights, amazing scenery, really good for dogs (unfortunately have to be on a lead). I live nearby and visit here often, even more so now that I have a dog. The cafe sells tea, coffee, ice pops, ice cream and some children's toys

Beautiful park, even after lockdown. Great park for all ages. Volunteers out trimming overgrown brushes and tidying bedding plants. The Rose Garden is not in bloom yet and we can't wait until they do. The rhododendron are absolutely beautiful with the huge magnolia. The green house was closed to the public while it was getting painted. The children's play area was open but not sure about the mini golf. The pond has two lovely working fountains with loads of wild fowl, ducks and some swans.

Lovely park β€” could do with some post-Covid investment. The sensory garden is looking a bit sad, but the lake looks stunning this year.

This is a great park that is nice for a stoll or a dog walk. There are plenty of areas for dogs to rummage around. Not massive but it's enough for a nice walk around. There's a play area for children with a crazy golf section which I assume is open at the weekends in the summer months. Plenty of off path areas to explore as well as a formal garden. A good sized pond in the middle of the park with ducks and geese to feed if you choose. It does have a shop to purchase food and snacks which again I would assume is open in the summer months.

Great little park and fun for the kids while parents get to sit and relax on benches. It's about 6-7 minutes drive from the Southport beach and there is plenty of parking on the quiet main road. There's plenty of things to do for the kids with swings, slides and a mini golf area, although not sure, think you have to bring your golf clubs and ball. It's a very quiet area and only seen a couple of people with dogs and there was no litter anywhere. The park is colourful and will get your kids tired from all the fun they'll have. Didn't see any bathroom near the park but think there might be along the long walk. There's also something very interesting in the park that I've not seen in any other parks before, exercise machines and I think that's a brilliant idea that'll get kids motivated to exercise. There's a long walk as well with flowers and a little water fountain. Can recommend this park for locals and if anyone wants a day out with the family too. The drive from Manchester was easy with beautiful places to see along the way.

Cafe was nice, gardens in need of a lot of TLC, lots of weeds and overgrown borders, guess council have cut spending and its slowly deteriorated.

Lovely park in the heart of Southport. Nice cafΓ© where you get a hot drink and a bite to eat. Excellent children’s playground. Large lake with fountains and plenty of ducks to feed. Beautiful rose garden. In places a bit unkempt and neglected - but on the whole a nice quiet oasis to take a stroll and watch the world go by.

Went with my elderly mum pushing her in a wheelchair and although some of the pathways where a bit uneven we managed and mum enjoyed the rose garden. What a nice surprise the cafe was we had been before and weren't impressed but this time although only plain fare everything was nice and tasty and the coffee was good I especially recommend the Backewell slice yummy πŸ˜‹

Lovely park with lots to look at and do. Some bits sadly need restoration but it has just received a bequest to do this, so have to only give it 4 stars now or else nowhere to go with the scoring after the glasshouse and sensory garden have been restored! Has a playground, crazy golf, kiosk, outdoor gym equipment, lake with fountains, fish and ducks, various trails, a rose garden and is home to the Victorian observatory as well. Nice place to go for a walk, run or cycle and good for kids.

What a lovely park great pond full of ducks who were happily being fed by passers by. Very clean and tidy, lots of people with dogs both on and off lead .We were there for about an hour for a quick walk around with our dog but will definitely return for a longer walk, great find. There are plenty of seating areas and a lovely quiet rose garden.

Lovely park it's a shame Sefton Council doesn't look after all its parks like this,""ohh I forgot they do if its an affluent area""

Well kept tidy and preened public park. Beautiful scenery; lake, trees, flowers and pathways. Large, safe and clean play area, next to a small cafe. Lovely day out for all the family. Fully recommendable
