Fascinating house with many unique features, loved it. The staff really made it a great day out - knowledgable and friendly without being intrusive. Excellent value for money too - the National Trust could learn a few things from Chorley council!

Went for the light event with not much expectation of a free event. We really enjoyed it! Parking was free, short walk to the hall from the car park. The surrounding gardens were clean and tidy and the light show was brill. Toilets were clean too. We’re definitely going to visit again for the play area.

A lovely, spacious and open area with some great open spaces, woodland, walking paths and a lake, overlooked by Astley Hall itself, which is currently in the middle of a grand restoration. To the side of it is a charming little courtyard with cafe and coffee shop that sells the most divine hot chocolate we have had in a long time.

Really surprised when we visited. After going when children young for years returned with grandchildren to find it had all been done up and house undergoing major restoration. Great afternoon out.

We had a beautiful day wondering round the well kept grounds after an extremely interesting tour of the hall. Lots of knowledgeable guides on hand. We finished with a pot of tea and delicious, well filled sandwiches. Great day out.

We love visiting this beautiful Hall. It's our third visit. They now charge to enter, none locals Β£5 per adult, Chorley locals get a discounted price. The guides were really friendly and very knowledgeable about the property. Well worth a visit as there are some beautiful ceilings, paintings and tapestries to see. The walled garden is lovely too. There's a popular cafe (Cafe Ambio) next to the Hall that serves excellent food and a good coffee, a couple of play areas for the kids to let off steam and a lovely woodland walk if you've got some energy left. There's parking a short walk away but it can get busy. It now has a height barrier so no room for motorhomes and street parking is limited. Sadly the carpark is abused by commuters using it as free parking all day. It's pot luck on the day. We were ok today, there seemed to be quite a few spaces when we arrived.

Lovely place to visit, nice leisurely walks, good play areas for children. The Hall is open to visit, obtain your tickets from the souvenir shop, there is a discount for people with a local postcode. It is free admission to the park and grounds. Free car park. Excellent cafe area and shop with wines, spirits, beers, biscuits and much more. Will definitely visit again

After two years of renovation work, Astley Hall reopened to the public on Saturday, 21 May 2022. Parking is free of charge. Tickets are available to purchase from the Astley Museum Shop, It was fascinating to see what a home was like long ago. Very friendly staff with informative signages.

The 2nd best place in the world, 1st is Manchester city football club, other than that, brilliant, the best food in the whole of Lancashire, cheap and incredibly good place for a walk with a pet πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ I recommend this place for other people πŸ•πŸŸπŸŒΆοΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Had a trip out to here knowing the hall would be closed, but wanting to see the park. It was brilliant. A lovely setting with something for everyone. Good access for prams, wheelchairs and disabled. Easy parking...and free! Wooded areas, wide open spaces, play park, fountain, benches, shaded area and fabulous cafe. Well worth a visit.

Often confused with the park in which it stands, The hall is currently closed due to major restoration work being carried out, The Hall is currently training up Volunteer Guides, so I'm guessing that the restoration is nearing the end? New wheelchair access is almost finished, as of 3 days ago, a true gem for all visiting Chorley

The hall is absolutely stunning well worth a visit. The surrounding grounds are more of a nature park and a great place to walk the dog. Cafe OK but felt rushed in to purchasing food.

Amazing place to visit , for Β£5.00 it is actually a bargain. We spent around 40 min in the Hall itself and then had lovely lunch in the caffe. Loved it

Took our grand children yesterday, imagine the surprise... Park closed!!! All that was open was the cafe, everything else was blocked off, no access to the park, because people was setting up for the flower show. We was told if we wanted to access the play area for children we had to follow the footpath which was on the edge of the housing estate. However when we finally got there, our 7yr old grandson really enjoyed himself, but there's nothing for the younger children.

Nice place for a walk and a coffee, good park for children. A few too many dog walkers for my taste.

Whilst unable to access the upper floors of the house due to being wheelchair bound at the moment, I cannot commend the staff and guides high enough for their patience and genuine care that was shown by them. This is coupled by their evident passion and knowledge of the house which joined with my own passion for history . It is a beautiful building inherently steeped and linked with our social, artistic and political history over millennia that is frequently unseen. One cannot help be deepened in amazement at the work of the manifold artisans and craftspeople who produced the furniture and art work alongside the ordinary items of past everyday life Truley this is a wonderful treasure set amidst a beautiful setting which when fully ambulant we will be returning to to fully explore and both absorb and be absorbed by Once again, thank you to the staff

I can honestly say that this is one of the best houses we have ever been to, the rooms aren’t enormous but the plaster ceilings are exquisite, The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, Beautiful parkland, free parking, nice cafe and very clean toilets, Certainly worth a visit

Astley Illuminated was a super event, Galliard Folk Dancers in the art gallery room, Sealed Knot reenactment outside firing cannon and muskets. Very well presented and done, free entry too. A very enjoyable experience and worth going to. Limited parking nearby but easy park and ride.

Great day out for all the family, lovely old hall steeped in so much history with helpful and friendly volunteers who are more than happy to share the historical knowledge, all set in the most gorgeous grounds which are also great for dog walkers and cyclist. Well worth a visit.

Always enjoy visiting this park. It has lovely walks through the park and wooded walks. It has a great play area for young and older children. The cafe is also worth visiting and quite often has local art exhibitions on show. Have visited many times. It also holds the Chorley Flower Show here each year in July which is a great day out too and other events throughout the year. There is a car park which is free.

I love Astley Park. We had a lovely little game of Tennis just before it went dark. Beautiful grounds with good disabled access for the most part. Not great around the tennis courts or lake. The road surfaces need to be improved for wheelchair users.

First visit since scaffolding was removed from hall after some of the conservation, unsure whether the new windows to the first two floors are in keeping with the building. They look too modern for the appearance.

Lovely park and gardens. Some new garden areas have been added recently. Great space for the grandkids to play in and good play areas. Picnic tables in a good size area and a nice cafe and shop. Large lake with fountain next to the Astley Hall. A great place for a day out.

Great park space for children and dogs alike! Good adventure playground for children as well. A bit of a shame that they now charge to go into the hall itself, but it is well worth a visit as a Tudor hall. Service in the cafe good too, although we didn't enjoy the cakes we ordered very much.

We attended the Chorley Flower Show there. It was well organized and we also bought a few plants

We visited the park and cafe on the most glorious day, that it actually had that holiday vibe, we sat in the courtyard and had the most wonderful coffee and breakfasts. The veggie breakfast was truly stunning and I loved that the sausages weren't trying to replicate meat, they were gorgeous and made with real vegetables. I realise it was a little higher priced for a breakfast than usual, there are definitely cheaper places around but the quality was amazing so was more than happy! And eating Al Frasco in the courtyard in the sunshine, reminded me of European ventures for sure! 🌞

We had our wedding day here. It was beautiful from beginning to end. The surroundings are beautiful. Well kept gardens. Stunning views. My only complaint would be the lack of interaction on the day from the lady who was dealing with the ceremony. She was supposed to be there when myself father and bridesmaids walked in to guide us with timing. Also was supposed to announce to the guests that they could walk around the hall and museum. Never gave us or the guests any guidance into the confetti timing, 1st toast or even to take the photographer around to do certain shots and walk around with us to ensure we got all the photos we required. Highly disappointed in that aspect of the day to be honest.

Super stately home near Chorley. Annual event of Astley Illuminated with great reenactment events, Victorian dancing in costume in the hall with beautiful decorations and lighting. Very atmospheric. Get there early, there are long queues and lots to see
