Nice little nature reserve with good information and nice woods but a lot smaller than anticipated! Struggle to see how people have said you can spend a few hours here, an hour tops and that's walking slowly and a sit down.

We walk through here, using Public footpaths, quite often, enjoying the meadows and woodlands; a rich and diverse habitat for wildlife. Situated on the northern and western slopes of Gaw Hill there are some spectacular views. As the Information Cabin, small car park and Cabin Wood woodland walk is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year, 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., they may be the times for you to visit and enjoy the Nature Reserve experience.

A scenic local walk for all ages, and although a bit muddy in places ,not too demanding with lovely views of the sunset πŸŒ‡

Not too far outside Liverpool and 5 minutes away from the centre of Ormskirk, but a haven of conservation, wildlife and solitude.

For selfish reasons I'd really like to leave a 1 star review to put others off finding this little gem! Great little walk. Lovely views. The kids loved. Bought some of their lovely apple juice too. We spent around an hour there, nice little sculptures about and plenty of information regarding wildlife and plants/trees etc. Week definitely be going back.

A small reserve with a meadow with some butterflies, woodland short paths and a pond with lots of damselflies and newts.

A small nature reserve in Ormskirk Lancashire, lovely setting with great views , although fairly quiet I did photograph a Buzzard.

Had a lovely walk with my dog on Sunday, very friendly, helpful volunteers . You can have some refreshments in the little cafe and buy some local produce. You can also buy a membership, which makes a yearly donation of Β£25 , which helps with the upkeep of this beautiful walk. Children will love all the little paths to different areas of interest on the walk, a good way to tire them out. Thank you for making Chicco, and I so welcome.

Cafe open on Sunday afternoons in October and November (2023) plus a little shop and of course the nature reserve
