Beautiful place to stay. Dinner choices were not that great. However the bar was nice, and the bartender made the best long Island iced tea! I particularly enjoyed the secret garden in that lead to the ocean. Would definitely stay here again!

Quite literally the worst hotel experience I have ever endured. The room itself looked pleasant. However the rest of the stay was quite literally unbearable. Expecting a nice time with some good food and peaceful rest. We were instead met with the loudest music booming through the floors to the point where you could see the paintings shaking. Upon asking for any help from the staff to either be moved or for the music to be turned down. They told us to just deal with it as we weren't the priority. If there's a private function going on, surely you would place your other guests as far away from the noise as possible, it seems ludicrous to place a couple of strangers so close to noise, that room should have gone to someone at the event! Disgusting. Upon then speaking to the manager in the morning we were told that the hotel had failed us, and we should expect some compensation only to be out right blanked for 3 weeks. Awful stay. Awful staff. Awful experience. Save your money. Avoid at all costs!

We were very happy with the whole stay, the staff were so friendly and attentive and made our stay most pleasant. The food was great could not fault it. I would recommend the 6oz steak rare. The room was good, wasn't too over the top price wise and was good for what we paid and was fully equipped. The wreckers bar was brilliant, the cocktails we're good and the food during the day was great too. While we were here I proposed to my now fiancé, the staff congratulated us with a complementary desert. Would very much recommend this for any couples looking for nice getaway.

Nice hotel in a wonderful location. Loads of potential to be a really lovely place to stay. The young staff are very friendly and helpful. Just needs a little more attention to detail when cleaning the rooms; toilet seat left up and no shampoo. My only criticism would be rooms allocated to guests who are not staying as part of a function. We were given a room just down from the function room, which was a little noisy. Apart from that, a lovely stay.

Attended a wedding function here. The room was adequate except for the mobility shower room. It lacked hand rails or any type of grab rails. The shower sprayed over everything including the very low toilet bowl the wet room was that small. The wedding dinner left a lot to be desired. The food selection for the price was not good the service was slow and the food itself was not very hot. Many guests complained about the meat served as being very fat and grissly. I had chicken which was ok except for being cold. Then when it came to the speeches they didnt have a PA system for the party. It leaves a lot to be desired for the prices they charge.

Staff were very polite and efficient and the room was spotless and very comfortable although the water supply was very temperamental. The 3 star review takes account of all factors and the main disappointment was the evening meal which I can only describe as awful and one of the worst meals we have ever had. The soup was totally tasteless and the mains were very disappointing to say the least, other residents we spoke to agreed with us that this really let the hotel down.

Had our Anniversary party here in the Turret suite. Best set up you could ask for in a hotel. Very quirky place with everything you need. Great staff and service as well as bars, breakfast and good room standard. Would recommend to anyone looking for a party room for up to 80 people.

Evening meal excellent, cooked a breakfast great, buffet breakfast average. The room (1004) had great views but wasn't prepared properly, paperwork from previous guests still there, hole in the wall and could do with a coat of paint, welcome gift missing and no room service day two. The location would be great if you could get at the beach without a mile hike or scrambling unguided across the golf course. It was suggested that lots of money had been spent, where? Staff we saw were excellent.

Location was great, easy to get to, stunning views and wonderful building with lovely restaurant and also casual grill and outdoor area. Staff were all amazing, very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and there was plenty of it. The room we were in was a bit tired and in need of decoration / renovation, but it was cool, had nice views and the shower was nice and warm.

Lovely hotel right next to the golf course and a short walk to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable though a little small. Food was excellent and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice enough hotel, probably could do with makeover but perhaps would lose some of its charm. The lighting in my room was odd one of the lamps didnt work, and there was no privacy curtain so the drapes had to be drawn. The staff were great and friendly. Its worth a stay still :)

Stayed with work for one night on Monday. I was asked to leave a pre-payment of £100 which I was told by the gentleman would be returned to my account depending on my bank within 48hrs. I have now phoned 4 times about this and still it hasn’t been cleared back to my account and it’s not Saturday afternoon. I find this to be terrible customer service and 4 different reasons for not receiving clearance as yet. Shame as the hotel is in a lovely location but I’d never book personally due to the customer service provided over something that should have been completed 72 hrs ago yet still hasn’t been sorted. 2 stars is for the location.

The location is exquisite and the building looks amazing like previous mentioned in another review the building could do with some renovation, the reason for my low scoring review is the room I was in was shocking it had a lot of mould build up in the bathroom the toilet seat was broken and the bath tub plug basin was broken also the headboard on the bed was badly scratched and had stains all over it , also the bet sheets had dirt on them I contacted management regarding this at the date of my check in and no one got back to me very terrible customer service I’ve been in better jury inn’s also most importantly you have to pay a £2 toll every time you cross the tunnel towards Liverpool and come back towards the hotel or there’s a long diversion to avoid the toll

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a beautiful castle with amazing scenery. The staff were amazing. They were very polite, giving us a friendly greeting upon our arrival at a wedding event they had arranged to perfection for the bride and groom. The hotel is updated perfectly, keeping the history of the castle to a high standard, while the rooms are very nice, updated, and modern. The cleanliness of the room was immaculate (even past the UV light test!). Chamber maids are doing a great job. The views from the rooms were beautiful, and everywhere was spotless! The food was second-to-none. We had a beautiful pork belly starter, lamb for our main, and banoffee cheesecake to finish. As you can see from the photos, the presentation was perfect on all dishes, and the quality of the meat was amazing. Hats off to the kitchen staff here for making nearly 100 dishes all the same and all cooked to perfection, even with requests for meat cooked differently (thanks for that, Sue!) and all served at the same time and the buffet after was also to perfection. Thanks to the amazing staff, serving to the standard you did is hard to do well, and you all did it to perfection every step of the way. It was clear that everything was good-quality local produce, everything was freshly homemade, even down to chicken strips and chips for the children. I must again say how good the staff are here, Even at 2:30am ( I think we kept them up a little later though, sorry for that) we were not put under any rush to leave, and the staff remained as attentive as they did from the start. Great job everyone! I would highly recommend a visit here for any occasion. Thank you all for a great experience! I had such a good time that I forgot to take as many photos as I normally do. And a 1-minute walk to the beach is well worth doing for the view, and the sunset was amazing. 27th may 2023

We had a fabulous family anniversary meal for twelve in the restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh and presented beautifully. The filler steak was at least as good as I’d had the week before in Soho House in London. The waiters were highly attentive and helpful. Highly recommended.

Charged £200 to my card on check-in for “incidentals” which was a lie as these were charged separately. It was a room deposit. Debited immediately but told it takes seven days to refund. Rip-off hotel that I will NEVER stay at again. If you on a family holiday on a budget, avoid this place like the plague.

Me and my partner stayed here for a few days whilst going to Liverpool. The first impression was very nice the hotel seemed quiet and out of the way. I received an email the night before we stayed to put in some of my details and any requests. I did request if we could possibly have a room with a view of the sea. I had a message the following morning saying I could be upgraded to another room with a sea view for an extra £60, on top of £130 for two nights. As we had not been here before I thought we may as well. When we got to the room I was really disappointed with the view we had. The window was full of condensation so I had the stand on my tip ties with my head practically out of the window just to see the view. So for this I would never upgrade a room again as it was definitely not worth it. There was an £100 damage deposit taken which gets refunded up to 7 days after you have left. It’s been 6 days and it’s still pending in my account which is quite annoying. The room was nice but the bathroom could have done with a deeper clean, especially as there was a really foul smell coming in from there. The ground around the hotel was lovely and it’s only a couple minute walk to the sea. After 11pm the hotel is locked so you have to be let in by security which is good. We decided on the second day to ask if we could possibly stay another night. The receptionist said they had another room but this would be £155 for one night as they had a wedding on. So we did not stay another night as I cannot comprehend how a wedding can make the prices increase that much. As you would imagine anyone staying there from the wedding would already have a room booked? The history of the hotel was somewhat hard to find as well, some older reviews do mention that the staff don’t like to discuss this, possibly to not scare the guests? The only strange encounter we had was around 4am on the second night where some of the shells I had bought back from the beach had been knocked off the side of the sink, yet we was both lying in bed… We ordered room service for the second night which was nice just quiet expensive. Overall it is a lovely place to stay. The room was just a little disapointing.

Hotel inside & out is stunning, impressive reception area, great food & service, our waitress Suzanne made our dining experience very enjoyable Just a shame she does not directly receive any gratuity’s, she was attentive, polite & professional. Room has everything you need & we had a partial sea view, nothing to complain about here other than we had an air con unit outside the window. For the price it’s excellent value ((premier inns cost more)) I would definitely return Donna & ian

We had booked to stay this evening. When we arrived, we were given a non smoking room that stank of tobacco smoke. The receptionist was not able to offer an equivalent and tried to upsell us on a more expensive room. We asked and were given a full refund and set about trying to find an alternative. We were lucky enough to find the Wyngate Guest House - the room was much bigger and immaculate...and much less expensive.

We arrived for a one night stay, looks great but very disappointing room for the price, small room, not cleaned properly, shower mouldy, no grout on floor tiles, fan outside the bedroom window so quite noisey , tv had limited stations on it. Asked for £200 deposit on arrival which would be refunded, and proof of I D because of drug dealers? Very strange. Won’t be revisiting again definitely not worth the money.

Very tired building not is not particularly easy to get to or from. Prices are high for the area and food options are fairly generic. Hotel is set up for parties and weddings and everyone seemed to be having fun.

Had an unexpected stay here overnight. Had a wonderful night. Woke up to a beautiful Seaview and a golf course. Really was amazing. Also gluten free breakfast. Only thing ( just me being picky,) would have preferred a pot of tea on my table instead of a flask where you help yourself.

Didn't stay but have been for many functions including my Mums wedding. Always nice food and good service. So highly recommended 👌

Don't get me wrong the building is beautiful ... there are some parts that need renovating but for me it adds to the charm. The actual rooms are a great standard especially the bathrooms... down side is the food is expensive and not great...the price of a pint is ridiculous..over a fiver... and the views are not great .... ideal for travelling work but I would not stay as a holiday... the staff were helpful

Service is great, can’t fault the people at all, but the facilities are looking a bit dated and beds were uncomfortable. Bad weather isn’t the hotel’s fault and neither are single glazed windows because I assume the castle is listed but just know that the wind whistles through the frames and the extractor fans a bit when it’s raining. The reception room at the front is beautiful with panelling but needs a bit of TLC and the suit of armour in the hallway makes for a fun selfie.

I met with some friends for coffee who had stayed overnight. Great place, beautiful location, and such friendly and helpful staff. Perfect then for a stroll along the beach if you need some fresh air, or to walk off your food!! 5* hygiene rating. Love it

Although the staff were lovely some parts of the hotel were really shabby such as stairwell and the very small lift. The room I had on the 4th floor had very low water pressure meaning a shower was almost impossible. On the positive side the lounge was a wonderful room, full of character unlike the rather drab bar. The dining room was also very nice and the food very good.

Came here for my birthday and was everything I expected and more! When we first arrived all the staff were very friends and helpful, when checking in we got told that they had upgraded our standard room to a suit as it was my birthday which was very thoughtful! The room was perfect! Thank you so much we will definitely be retuning in the future!

Our second stay and every bit as good as our first. Spacious rooms and en suite, our room also benefitted from magnificent views across to Wales. Food and drinks were again excellent and the rooms, restaurants and main hall exceptional. Very busy with wedding parties but these added to the atmosphere.

Fantastic hotel! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Best Fish & Chips I've had in a long time in Wreckers Bar for lunch.

Went for a friend's wedding. Seemed like a nice enough place with a distinctive style. Rooms looked comfortable, clean and tidy, and were an ok size. Wedding room was nicely laid out and a decent size, and could seat about a hundred at a guess. Staff at the hotel were very helpful, polite and attentive, and made good efforts to have the wedding go smoothly. Unfortunately, there were two issues that marred the wedding, the sound system went bad during the first dance, and when the meal was served it turned out the chicken was undercooked and had to be recalled, with people going round grabbing it from guests plates. Otherwise it seemed like a nice enough place, with a lift for access to the upper floors, decent toilets, good size car park and easy access

We booked a meal for my husbands 80th Birthday today, for 7 of us including 2 children. From start to finish it was amazing. The staff were so attentive but not over bearing. The food was of a very high standard and safe to say all plates were cleared! Would definitely recommend for any special occasion or just Sunday lunch. We will be returning very soon.

This is a difficult review to put together. But here goes. With a new owner, I believe in place and what seems to be some money being spent in certain areas, which I know takes time. I am seeing great things in places. Long may it continue. The staff where good and friendly. But the real gem 💎 was the food. I was at a wedding and we where given beef. Wedding food is always a hard one to get right. The starter and the main was OUTSTANDING and a sizeable portion at that. Personally for me the BEST wedding breakfast I have ever had. I put my head into the brassiere and I like what I saw. So I will get myself booked in for a meal and try it out. Based on what I saw and ate last night I’m looking forward to it and expecting great things. I can’t give it 5 star ⭐️ just yet but I hope 🤞 I can soon.

Booked last minute for a well deserved short break. Its an old castle so expected the rustic interior. But very surprised at the high standard and decor of the room. But the real treat was when we dined in the restaurant, the food was of a standard you would expect in any high class restaurant. Hats off to the chef, talented and showen a passion to deliver excellence. A must go.

We stayed at the Leasowe Castle 🏰 Hotel and also ate lunch and dinner 🥗 here last week. All the staff are polite, friendly and courteous 😊 A special 'Shout-out' to Gill and Nicole at the Wreckers Bar & Lounge, who went out of their way to give us a warm welcome. We booked our dinner reservation at the Brasserie 1593, in advance online but we're told that since there weren't enough diners, it wouldn't be open. I've visited several times over the years and this has happened to me on every occasion. Maybe I'm going at the wrong time of year 😥 Other than that, we had a fabulous time! This a beautifully restored historic building within walking distance of the coastline, beach ⛱️ and golf course. A lovely, relaxing stay was had by all 💕

We had an excellent two-night stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, the bed a little bit firm, but also comfortable and the staff very friendly and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. The food and drink in the restaurant and the bar were very good, if a little bit pricey, but only what one would expect in this class of hotel. The cooked breakfast was particularly good and the service was excellent. We had a really relaxing break and will definitely stay there again when next visiting the Wirral next year.

We had a 1 night stay in a top floor room. Stunning views. Staff excellent both on reception and in the restaurant. Lovely dinner but breakfast choice a bit limited.

Absolutely stunning! From the castle itself to the grounds and the room were all stunning. On top of this the beach is across the golfing green. Such a beautiful castle with lots of history and lovely staff.

My daughter got married at Leasowe Castle and i cannot fault the venue in any way. Professional from start to finish. Fabulous staff and fabulous food. What more could you ask for. Well done Leasowe.

I had a beautiful roast dinner. Brisket of beef was so tender. The service was brilliant too. £14 for 1 course and £18 for 2. I took a star off as no desert choices. Only a chocolate brownie that was more like hot cake!

We had our Wedding at Leasowe Castle a couple of weeks ago and we cannot be happier with how our day went. From the start of our wedding journey (over 2 years ago due to the pandemic) the team at Leasowe have been amazing. They have been incredibly accommodating, friendly and professional. The castle is a gorgeous venue which we fell in love with as soon as we saw it. The food is delicious, not just our wedding meal but we have eaten there a couple of times and found the food always to be fantastic. Thank you so much to you all for making our big day so perfect, we are over the moon we chose to get married at Leasowe Castle Hotel and would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue, a welcome break or a tasty meal. X

A warm and helpful welcome. Bed comfortable, bathroom ok. Dinner was excellent. Only fly in the ointment was a very noisy wedding, with guests not stopping shouting until the early hours of the morning.

  • 5/5 Jonathan N. 1 year ago on Google
I loved it, great room with great views on two sides, some nice offers to help with the cost and very friendly staff. Fine old building and quiet location. Ate in twice, included in the package, couple of very nice starters and excellent steak on steak night though menu unchanged next day and went out on other nights. Easy to find and lots of parking though garden nothing to write home about as a result. Unfortunately no direct access to the sea but that was down to a golf course in the way.

I recently got married here, and what a delight it was. We had the best day of our lives, and we loved being king and queen for the day at the castle. It was just magical. All of our guests said they had such an amazing time. Everything was more than we could have hoped for. The food was unbelievable, so big thanks to the chef and the kitchen team. All of our guests praised the menu. The waiting staff were superb, so hard working, and the bar staff were a delight. We thank everyone who helped to make our day the day it was. The castle is now a second home to us and will be a part of our memories forever. We will definitely attend the occasional event or dine out there, too. Definitely recommend a visit to anyone. We owe the biggest thanks to Lauren and Sue, who looked after us from the beginning when we first booked our wedding, right until the end of our reception. My wife and I are both so happy that Lauren and Sue were part of the day and can't thank you both enough. As I said to you. You are both a credit to Leasowe Castle, you all are. We really can't thank you all enough but, thank you all again so much for everything. Mr and Mrs J ❤️
