There is a club next door playing music so loud we have not been able to sleep for almost 2 hours. The bass is unbearable and we are both music lovers who blast music in the car and at home. But not what I want out of a hotel when the music is coming from next door and it’s 11pm. Also the bed sheets are dirty. Which we were like ‘f’ it we’re tired sheets are fine enough but this music feels like we’re at GitMo.

I have never booked a hotel on Groupon on before and for £55 including a bottle of wine I didn’t have big expectations. But WOW! This place was great. Super clean, nice quiet room, in a great location across the road from Hawksmoore and the Albert dock only 5 minute walk. It’s a really nice location on the nicer side of the dirty centre. We visited the Alchemist around the corner for a night cap and the area felt very safe at night. The staff were all lovely and friendly. I’d be more than happy to visit again and even pay the full rate.

Lovely hotel nice rooms some of my friends in the twin rooms had nicer ones than me and my mrs in the double bed room but even still a nice room, staff were kind and friendly, really great location aswell beside weather spoons, and a tesco only 5min walk if you need anything, also they a jug of lemon water, which is the ultimate way to detox your body after a night on the streets of Liverpool 😉. Only reason i gave 4 star is because the lift was kind of dodgy so we used the stairs all the time, just seemed like a bit of a jaggedy lift would not be surprised if it stalls one day 😂.

Good convenient location. Nice clean rooms. And polite welcoming staff. No parking but free parking provided by hotel at Liverpool one car park. Would recommend.

Absolutely shocking and appalling experience at the Heywood House Hotel on the 28th October. Receptionist refused to check me in on the basis I was providing a company corporate address and not my personal residential address for my booking, despite the fact the booking was made through a card/account linked to a company address and for business purposes, not personal, therefor the business address should have been absolutely fine. She refused to give me her name (It was on her name badge, Danielle), refused to contact or give me the contact details for a duty manager or manager, stating he was off sick. When I told her I wanted to complain, She told me to "Get a grip". What sort of customer service is this? She was rude, aggressive, unprofessional, and then hid in the office and refused to come out whilst I politely asked her for the complaints policy, She eventually came out and gave me the reception email, Not a complaints policy or contact for someone able to deal with my concerns. She should be sacked! I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this was the worst most unprofessional encounter I have experienced, Do not stay here!

Very central, within walking distance of everywhere. Very reasonable prices. No food on premises however you don't have to go far to find a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants. 5 minutes walk from the Mersey riverside and 10 minutes to the cruise terminal. Lovely clean, cosy rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Great little hotel in great position in Liverpool, near Cavern pub and Club, and only a short walk to other great pubs and restaurants. We were welcomed by very courteous staff and our room was well decorated, spacious extremely well cleaned. I would recommend this hotel to stay in and the price was excellent for the quality of hotel.

Staff are great & the check-in process was easy. WiFi is very slow however & the breakfasts are pretty poor. Rooms are lovely though & come with a fridge. Very clean & the bathrooms are spacious. Depends what’s important to you in a hotel.

Great location! Perfect if you're going for a meal/drinks in town.close to James Street train station. Super friendly and attentive staff. We had a room on the third floor which was great on a busy Saturday night. Our room was spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Good experience, would recommend. We went to Moose coffee for breakfast which is a short walk away.... highly recommend!

The Heywood House was such a perfect place to stay in Liverpool. Both young ladies we met at the desk were a delight to deal with. The room was very clean and comfortable. I really love a good shower and this one was great. A lot of room in the bathroom and a lot of good hot water pressure! Beds were comfortable and they had everything we needed for a good cup of coffee . Location was perfect as well.

Pros: Affordable, close to everything you could need, clean, friendly staff. Cons: Noisy, random noises in the room that I couldn’t figure out (kind of like machine humming/ clicking) & blaring music from night clubs nearby. However, I brought a good pair of earplugs & then it didn’t bother me at all. My deadbolt was jammed & there’s no way to lock the door from the inside. Reception man was very understanding that I was weary as a young, small female travelling alone & got it working for me. However still would’ve preferred to have a lock that ensured no one could get in, even staff, while I’m sleeping in the room alone. You have to pay for your own parking, they have a discount code for the q park that’s only a minute walk away but it still ends up being close to £20 a day for parking. Overall 6.5/10, not the best ever (especially if you need to park your car or you’re a light sleeper/ easily annoyed) but definitely not the worst

The hotel was in a very good location, close to the train station, docks and Cavern Club. My room was quiet and spacious and had everything I needed. My only complaints are that the shower door didn't close, so some water leaked out onto the bathroom floor while showering, plus the water kept changing from hot to cold. The heater in the room didn't work, however, the reception staff were nice enough to bring me two space heaters which solved the problem quickly. Staff let me check in early with no problem, and held my bags after checking out.

Nice hotel. Superior room has a fridge with some snacks/drinks included. Comfy beds. Like other reviews say there can be some noise from the music venues but I never heard this past midnight and it wasn't that loud anyway. Staff very friendly, I left my HDMI cable in the TV and when I called them they went straight up to find it and store it for when I next return. Only real issue was the Wi-Fi, I used my data through the stay as the Wi-Fi was a measly 6Mbps (just about enough to stream movies etc)

The hotel is directly above a busy late night club. Sounds like a subwoofer in the room until the early hours. If you want to rest DO NOT STAY HERE

Booked a Groupon deal. So a bargain with a bottle of wine. Staff really lovely. Only gripe was noise early in the morning. Sounded like the bin men were outside from around 4/5am! Bed not the comfiest but for price paid it was all good. Would return.

Location was absolutely perfect, street side can be noisy, air ventilation made quite some noise. Breakfast at next door Alchemist was not available at 9 as suggested. Rooms were clean and fine.

Super location, about 15 mins walk from Lime St station, set back two blocks from waterfront and Albert Dock (again about 15 mins walk). Loads of nice bars and restaurants nearby, plus the 'posher' shops in Liverpool and the Cavern Quarter. The staff are super friendly and helpful (special mention to the lovely chap who put WD40 on my squeaky suitcase wheel - thank you!). Nice White Company toiletries in bedrooms, and good shower. Front desk staffed 24/7. Price a little high (booked for Labour Party conference, so not out of step with other hotels, and to be expected). Rooms could have better sound-proofing, and my bedroom door had to be slammed quite firmly before the catch would hold. The lift was scary, as very slow, and juddery. Always a bit of a guess as to whether or not the doors would open when you arrived at your destination floor!

For the price and location it was excellent. Receptionist Jack helpful and friendly . Rooms spacious and warm , lovely fluffy towels. Housekeeper replenished coffee, tea and toiletries daily . All in all very satisfied

Great location and lovely rooms. However, the air conditioning unit randomly made horrendous noises throughout the night, waking me up constantly. I made this known to staff at checkout. They didn't care a jot and took full payment. Sleep is everything when you're paying for a stay.

Disappointed with the superior deluxe room where we stayed 2 nights. We ended up staying a third night, so we switched to a standard room for our last night. It turned out to be a more decent room. The only extras we noticed for the superior deluxe (which was £100 more for 2 nights) were a fridge with a bottle of water and a kitkat each, dressing gowns, and a coffee machine and Bluetooth speaker - neither of which were working. We were also unimpressed with the breakfast, which was just a grab and go continental breakfast to take back to the room. There's a pub next door where we had a very good breakfast. I would definitely stay again, because the staff were friendly and the location was superb. I just know next time to go for the standard room and not bother with breakfast.

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Great location for eating and drinking too.The rooms were kept wonderfully clean and an added touch of the complimentary goodies in the mini fridge.

My wife and I stayed here for one night (Thurs). The overall hotel experience was very good. There is not much to add too the previous five star reviews. Great location, room, staff, price etc. I would not hesitate to recommend Heywood House.

Recently had a one night stay at the Heywood House Hotel and it wasn't bad to be fair. We purchased a voucher from a certain online voucher buying site, so we managed to get this stay at a very reasonable price. The voucher entitled us to a free bottle of wine for the room and breakfast the following morning. The hotel is well located, it is not far from the river at all and is in easy walking distance to the busy area of Liverpool where there are plenty of good shops, restaurants and bars to visit. As this hotel is attached to The Alchemist cocktail bar, it can be quite loud if you're in a room located at that side of the hotel. We were, but the noise stopped not long after midnight, so not too bad. The room we stayed in was nice enough. It included a comfy double bed, storage for hanging your clothes, usual desk and chair, decent sized TV, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was placed on an angled wall due to how the building has been sectioned off and it was this angled wall, that makes you stand (or sit) at a strange angle when trying to use the toilet in the bathroom on the other side of the wall. I'm not exactly small myself, but if I was any bigger, it would be a struggle to use the toilet in any dignified way put it that way. Don't get me wrong though, the room was comfortable enough and there's no major complaint really. Please be advised though, there is no way to lock your door from the inside, well there wasn't in our room anyway. The staff we dealt with whilst there were all super nice and helpful when we had any questions. The breakfast on offer here is a "grab and go" continental style offering. There is nowhere to sit and have it, it is literally handed to you in a paper bag. There are places nearby though if you desire a cooked breakfast, The Alchemist next door being one. Overall, a nice, hidden comfy hotel with very nice staff which is very well located and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if the opportunity ever arises.

Love this hotel , I have stayed here a few times and always get good sleep. The beds are comfy and the rooms are nicely decorated. It's very quiet and the staff are all amazing especially Chris of an evening. You wouldn't know the hotel was there unless you were looking for it. Highly recommended if you are going into Liverpool or the docs you also get 30%/ off parking in Liverpool one.

Really lovely boutique style hotel. Very nice room which was spacious and elegant. Bathroom was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is only a grab and go bag but there are plenty of good places to eat nearby. Great location for shopping and docks. Would definitely recommend and would stay again without hesitation.

Good price, clean big rooms and good sound proofing from all the party-goers outside!! Also excellent service both during my check-in, and also when assisting me with the lost property issue later on. Thank you very much

Looks attractive and a great location. Staff were super friendly and helpful. They haven't thought through some practical challenges. The wifi is very poor at least on the third floor; the elevator is programmed to say doors closing when they are about to open and the shower room is poorly designed.

Was a decent stay. Check in was slower than expected, especially as we had already checked in online. The receptionist told us that room cleaning has been slow since COVID-19 so we were unable to check in at 3pm but they kindly took our bags for us as we had somewhere else to be. We were in room 205 for a two night stay - brilliant blackout curtains, bedding was okay, extra pillows in the cupboard, coffee and tea facilities, minibar, radio and desk, hairdryer and iron (didn't work well). Good shower pressure however the sink in the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned for some time. Water was very slow to drain, and kept bringing up hair from previous guests... We eventually boiled some water and poured it down the drain and this helped, but still needs a good thorough clean. The bin was not cleaned from the previous guests so their rubbish was still in the bathroom. On the morning after our first nights stay, the cleaner knocked on the door to tell us that she needed to clean the room even though we had a "do not disturb" sign, and that we needed to be out by 11am. We told her we were staying another night and she said she wasn't told and apologised, so communication between teams could be improved. Good location for sightseeing and food, everyone we met at the front desk was really friendly.

Despite having emailed the hotel notifying them that my friend was lactose intolerant, they hadn't provided anything suitable for her breakfast. James the receptionist was very helpful, used his initiative and went to a nearby Tesco to get fruit and yoghurt for her. We had upgraded to a balcony room, rather an expensive upgrade, the balcony was tiny overlooking, at the rear of the property, an alleyway, the local roof tops and a fine collection of chimney pots, but not a good view. The glass topped table on the balcony was sticky with drink spills and cup rings. We cleaned it ourselves, James said if I had mentioned it they would have sent housekeeping, I countered that it ought to have been cleaned BEFORE we arrived. A small thing but only one small bottle of water for two adults seemed inadequate. A contact lens from a previous guest was found on the bedroom carpet, a piece of silver paper was found on the bathroom floor, neither of which gave us any confidence in the cleanliness of the room. The hotel was centrally located, the beds were comfortable and the staff were polite and professional. James managed to secure a refund for the cost of the upgrade for me for which I was most grateful. Pleasant natured and helpful the staff were an asset. Thank you James and Iona( sorry if my spelling is poor).

Lovely old building in a great bit of the town near to the Mersey and close to the shops. It was smart, fresh and clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Come later in the night, it was so quiet-not often the case in a city. I liked that I could thoroughly control the temperature of the room and that the bathroom was well ventilated ( critical!) The grab and go breakfast was actually pretty comprehensive and a good idea. I loved the bottle of wine that comes with the room too. All excellent for the price.

Very nice modern city centre hotel. Free wifi. Lift to all floors, car park is Q park with a 30% off validated ticket from the hotel reception. Well worth a stay. Friendly hotel staff.

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Rooms are spotless. Breakfast is a grab and go bag, which includes juice, fruit, pastries, yogurt and health bar. If this doesn't suit hotel can arrange a cooked breakfast at discounted rate close by. The hotel is close to all the attractions of city and only a 5 minute walk from Liverpool One bus station.

Room was really nice with everything you could need. Staff weren't the friendliest in arrival but the night staff were really nice. Main issue was the location. We stayed on a weekend and the club next door was pounding music until the early hours. Maybe safer to choose somewhere detached of over a weekend.

The staff, in particular Jamie ,were incredibly helpful after I arrived having sustained a serious injury to my knee. They were on hand if I needed them, supplied ice etc to tend my wounds and helped me with transport to the station. The room itself was very comfortable. I wish I’d had more time to appreciate it. A lovely location and very close to Albert Dock and water area.
