We stayed for 3 nights b&b. The hotel location is perfect, walking distance to shops, restaurants and nightlife. The rooms were clean and modern, however, we requested twice for our room to be cleaned and for fresh towels etc, we got the towels but our room was not cleaned. The check in staff are pleasant and welcoming. Although the lack of good customer service throughout the hotel let’s this hotel down. Any request seemed to be an inconvenience. On two mornings 2 members of our group had to wait for more than 20 mins for their cooked breakfast due to the shortage of hot food. This is the first spa hotel I’ve ever stayed in that charge £25 per hour pp for use of swimming pool, again staff were very dry and preferred to hand us a booklet than engage in conversation regarding spa facilities and treatments. The hotel has potential but I would not be rushing back to stay here again

I've stayed in a few double trees and some of what makes them nice is their uniqueness, with respect to decoration, amenities and location. The building is grand but the reception area is quite small. I was greeted on arrival and the staff were friendly and attentive. The room I stayed in was beautiful but let down by small things like damage to the tiles in the bathroom and poor standard of grouting. The bed was really comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. I would reccomend this hotel.

So pathetic! The carpet was disgusting, the door handles were sharp, the housekeepers never cleaned up, their shower glass only covered half of the opening instead of being a door, and the front desk was really incompetent, but the restaurant staff were really nice and the location was fine. Overall, we hated the experience!

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your hotel. This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and normally will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of my favorites in the area. I have been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed. Great, warm, nice people. Great service from cleaners to front of desk. All staff were great and so Helpful. Great room. Very comfortable. Clean and great weekend. Definitely go back. 100% recommend. People / staff made the difference, they were great.

This would be considered a luxury in the early 2000s. But the rooms feel very dated and massively overpriced. I would recommend going somewhere cheaper as there are many modern alternatives which provide a much better service. Note: No smart cast TVs Windows do not open Very small cups

My boyfriend and I recently stayed for a night at this hotel, we were greeted with a very warm welcome & lovely reception staff. We paid for a ‘King deluxe room’ which didn’t appear like the photos when booking, as pictures shown two floors and rooms with plenty of space. The room we stayed in was rather overpriced for an average sized hotel room - (we have paid less elsewhere for more space in the past). The bedroom itself was clean & tidy, only downside was the bath, which could’ve done with another good scrub. Overall, our stay here was rather nice, however it is very expensive for what it is!

I have enjoyed 2 x DT hotels so far believing these to be of a standard above the Hilton and Hampton variants they offer. This was by far the worst I’ve experienced so far. No complimentary drink on check in and no bottles of water in the room. I have stayed in worse chains but received more. £20 for a breakfast too which is ridiculous. I don’t think I’ll be checking in again. There are better options locally.

AVOID IF YOU LIKE FRESH AIR. Please don't trust the good reviews, this is a truly awful hotel. The worst Hilton I've ever stayed in by a huge margin. The rooms are stale, musty and dirty. Inexplicably, the hotel has sealed all of the windows, which means the only fresh air available is through the seemingly decades old air conditioning system that pumps in stale, smelly air. The carpets were very old and dirty, as well as the room itself being extremely dated. The bar was full of fruit flies and there were also fruit flies in the room. The spa (which is not very well reviewed) costs £25/hour per person. You can also just book it separately if you are dying to use the spa, the hotel being named a 'hotel & spa' is very misleading. Shocking customer service when complaining about the room, the hotel staff don't care and clearly get this complaint a lot and handle it by completely dismissing it. Nowhere near worth the money, book somewhere else

Location is quite central with Liverpool 1 and the docks a short walk away. I know the attraction is the quay side but the hotel is located in the old heart of the city. It's an impressive traditional Victorian stone building with furnishings to suit. With the discounted overnight parking deal in the local ncp and an impressive king size room it offered the best value in Liverpool at the time of booking.

Could and should have been better. The information for the rooms clearly stated that they came with an Espresso machine and digital alarm clock. The alarm clock didn't work and there was no coffee machine. When I spoke to reception re the Espresso machine I was told that unfortunately not all the qualifying rooms had one as there was a shortage. They didn't really seem bothered.

Just back from a 2 night with 3 friends. We had lovely room 1403. As a travel consultant, I'm picky about where I stay with friends. Room was spacious. Staff friendly. Hotel was spotless. I will be sending my customers here and also returning with more friends.

Shower needs a good deep clean. Carpets need cleaning. Every where in the hotel looks like it needs a good clean in fact. Staff welcome was brilliant in the hotel. Spa from the outside the building not inviting at all. Didn't go in the spa 50%deposit needed on booking?. Wouldn't stay here again. Oh they wanted 50%

Visited the weekend for my Sister in Laws Hen Night. Really lovely hotel - the room was nice and also clean. The bathroom was gorgeous - had a bit of an issue with the shower and working out how to get the hot water to work - but it eventually did. The room itself was quiet - I'm not sure if the doors are sound proofed but we didn't really hear any noise from other guests which was a bonus. The service was great, all the staff were really friendly and attentive. Always greeting us during our stay. I will say that one of the staff members called Ven was particularly lovely to me and my sister - she was very sweet and attentive when we needed restocks of milk and shower gel. The location is great as its only a 9 minute walk from train station and very close to local amenities and the town. I love the fact that you get a warm cookie when you check in as it was delicious. We did have breakfast on the one day and that was also very good. Would definitely return to this hotel

Remember to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This web site will compare countless booking websites and typically will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't regret it. Brilliant hotel, stayed in a queen suite family room. Room and bathroom was huge, really clean and comfortable. Warm cookies on arrival were a big hit with the kids. Brill location walking distance to Matthew Street, Liverpool one shopping and the Albert Dock. Family friendly would definitely stay here again

Lovely hotel and fantastic location for almost everything you need to see in Liverpool. Great service from all the staff here, managed to make us Vegan sausages on request for breakfast too. Bar area is really nice for a wee drink before the end of the night. Parked across the road at Victoria Car Park, £13 for 24hrs, thought that was really good and fair priced. Fitness centre is aptly named as it more cardio machines that weights so not a full gym. No squat rack unfortunately but enough heavier dumbbells (up to 20kg) and cables to get some sort of a strength workout in, so happy with that. Pool was £25 to use which I thought was really disappointing and overpriced just to use a pool. I think it should come as part of the booking, so we just left it due to the price.

Excellent location in Central Liverpool and close to all the shops. The Spa was wonderful on this occasion and has refurbished the lockers which is an improvement. Still has issues with getting the two additional water features in the pool fixed, although the jacuzzi was working this time. It's still the warmest and cosiest spa I have been to in Liverpool at a low cost and available to the public without membership. So I would still recommend this spa and pool to potential guests.

I attended an evening wedding reception of a colleague in a private function room. The celebration was wonderful, but unfortunately, the bar service was very slow. Throughout the evening, very few glasses were collected, leaving the tables full of empty glasses. To add to the disappointment, my favorite rum ran out, and the bartender insisted there was no replacement stock in the building. Despite the enjoyable night, it was disheartening to experience such poor bar facilities.

We had a fantastic time at the hotel to celebrate our first anniversary. It was a delightful experience overall, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking rejuvenation and quality time with their partner. The breakfast was absolutely delightful, and although the dinner wasn't exceptional, it was still enjoyable. On the whole, we would give it a rating of 4 out of 5. Cheers! :)

Attended a wedding here. Great venue, good staff, good food. Biggest problem was the bar service. Poor selection of drinks and the pricing varied dramatically from round to round even though the order was exactly the same. But that aside a good venue.

My adult children and I stayed here for a few days around Christmas. Anyway, the building itself is really amazing. As we pulled up front I didn't recognize it as a hotel except for the DoubleTree banner. The inside is gorgeous - everything well appointed and nicely decorated. The fitness center is surprisingly well put together and had almost everything I needed to work off a Christmas supper. Most all the rooms are up/down stairs - the enclosed elevator was beautiful but our room was up a half-flight of steps and then down a few. Beware of low ceilings - my tall son and I both bonked our heads on the same spot. Rooms were very large - no view to speak of (in ours at least) but everything was very clean and nice. No executive lounge, but the hotel bar/restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was representative and all the staff was friendly and professional. This really felt like a well operated property with staff who really cared. Parking is just across the street in a garage (£13/24hrs - prorated). Location is perfect for exploring Liverpool.

Beautiful hotel! My room (612) has exposed old wood beams and was large enough for a party!! The bathroom was huge! I wish I had stayed more than one night, the room was that nice!! Service was on point and top-notch.

The staff were lovely The rooms are a decent size and the beds are comfortable However there is Alot of work to be done to bring the hotel up to the Hilton Standard that I have become accustom to. - The spa is an Extra charge, so it's not really a Spa and Hotel. It's a hotel with a spa next door - not the same thing. The pools need to be drained, cleaned and repaired as there is goop and glass in the bottom of them. - The food was Ok at best. There were a few nice dishes but overall it was underwhelming. The location was good, but if I go back I'll stay in the other Hilton

Great location, ok service. Rooms are tired and need investment. Beds are flat. Bathrooms are in need of investment - had issues every time I stayed with taps and baths! Better rooms for your money in Liverpool for sure. Worth a check about before booking.

Hotel is nice and local the staff are great, but don't let the "hotel and spa" header kid you. its a hotel with a spa next door!! The spa is separate anyone can go for £25 each. The pool was good steam room good. the sauna was lit up red, but off!! Thank you.

Good location, comfy beds. The ceiling above the shower in room 301 needs redecorating as there is mould and flaky paint. Also it was a bit disappointing that the spa costs £25 for one hour, and there's no t even a discount for hotel guests.

Spacious room and bathroom. Clean. Delicious breakfast buffet where a chef truly makes your egg the way you love them. They offer a small take away breakfast, but had not communicated our order to the breakfast crew which was very disappointing. Great areas to sit and work or wait for your colleagues.

This hotel has two sides. Left side was where we were originally placed and room was lovely and that part of the hotel has an old European vibe. Then the night we got there the problem started. The bathroom developed a leak over the toilet that was soaking the floor. And needless to say not great using the toilet. Someone came to check it out then left and I heard nothing more. We had to ask about it twice the next morning as the leak continued to drip. We were finally told we'd be moved to another room when it became available. So we packed up and went out and came back a few hours later and told we were being moved. We were moved to a room on the other side that felt like a mile away. Sixth floor that requires a lift then upstairs then down stairs and a long hallway. The room was ok but the bathroom was up a tight circular stair with a broken light. We were offered no discount until I checked out and then they acknowledged I was owed a discounted rate for the cheaper room I was moved into. If I hadn't asked it wouldn't have happened. As a gold honor member I expect better.

We stayed in Double Tree Liverpool for a wedding. Nice and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. There were two maintenance issues with the room from which have been resolved while we stayed there. For the area the rooms would need soundproofing..it was extremely hard to sleep in the room we had from the outside noise.

Good location and architecture, however none of the staff seem to be trained in hospitality. Pros: > Beds are a good size and very comfortable & linens etc. > Handy room amenities i.e mini fridge > Reception staff did their very best Cons: > Vegans seem to be an alien concept > Shower had a mind of its own (temp is either hot or scalding hot) and would let out water in the middle of the night > Water is horrid (possible because different areas taste different to travellers, but most hotels provide at least one bottle for the room) > General and operations manager seem ambivalent at best > Bad pint pouring Not the absolute worst but the only 4 star aspect is the building structure which the hotel chain can't take credit for

Our stay was ruined by a raging wedding party just downstairs in the hotel ballroom which had an extremely loud live band until after 1am. This wasn’t just a small rumble of a party but insanely loud— so much that I could clearly identify every sone played. Our two small children could not sleep. Front desk was unresponsive with just “I agree but cannot do anything about it.” Music went off after we complained yet again at 1:05am but returned for a bit at 1:15am. We got moved to a new room the next morning as there was another wedding scheduled for that night. The GM the next day (Mr George) was apologetic but zero real offer to repair our trip—just a free night to use (for two people, not the four in our family) in the next 6 months…? Um, we live in another country so the chance we will fly 4 people back is zero. I was appalled. The damage to our short trip was done and the next and last night of our trip our kids fell asleep during dinner… To sum up: rooms just OK, breakfast nice and the staff was very kind at breakfast especially. However—worst night sleep I’ve ever had at any hotel in my entire life.

Liked - Kerry on reception was pleasant to deal with upon check-in. The room was nice enough with a good bathroom. Location is good for exploring. Ideal for a stag do or wedding not suitable for couples looking for a quiet relaxing stay. Disliked · Spa trip went south: messy waiting area, loud phone talk, wrong name by receptionist. Unclear service info, no online booking; pressured into £99 for un-recalled treatment. No confirmation, reluctantly paid for unwanted treatment. Receptionist admitted mistake, told to enjoy facilities, but no refund given. Wife received treatment, I was left to 'enjoy' a dilapidated, unclean 'thermal journey'. AVOID THE SPA No room service available during our stay. Most of the cocktail menu was unavailable due to lack of ingredients. Room view was rubbish, the Hotel in general was very noisy at night & had a terrible nights sleep due to street noise, loud air con and rowdy wedding guests. Soundproofing badly needed. 'Special' extras i'd paid for were there, but so were the room team putting them in upon checking in ruining any kind of surprise for my wife. They were polite and everything but this should've been in well ahead of check-in. Sadly I've paid over the odds for a special luxury treat and been left with a very disappointing experience. Would avoid this hotel at all costs.

Excellent Hilton hotel! My room was awesome, with a huge king size bed, hd tv and a very big shower. All the staff members were absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had far from home. Located in Liverpool city center this is the best option both to discover the city and as reference point for your job meetings. 5 deserved stars!

My partner and I had an amazing stay here right in the centre of Liverpool. The staff were incredibly helpful and lovely to deal with topped off with an excellent meal in the Koukash restaurant. It was so good I would even recommend going for dinner if you are in Liverpool and not planning to stay over. The spa is really undersold by the pictures on the website. The pool and hot tub are lovely and I had such a relaxing massage in the spa. Great value - I can't recommend enough

Disgusted by the poor management, and the staff’s lack of interest in there customers happiness. The hotel were quick to take our money but when it came down to a mistake on there behalf they are reluctant to give back the money they wrongfully took from us. Not only did they charge us for a room we did not have but the next day they told us that we were to pay for two rooms we did not have, and on top of that the restaurant was closed and when we asked for the staff to call us a taxi we were still waiting half an hour later for said taxi, in the end we had to walk through Liverpool without knowing where we were going because they were to incompetent to even call us a taxi. The hotel room was a disgrace for what we paid, as were the staff. They are terrible at there jobs and have no interest in the satisfaction of there customers we have been robbed out of £299 that they refuse to return to us for two rooms we did not use or want and a deposit they should of returned. Do not stay at this hotel there lack of customer interest is disgusting and there rooms even more so.

Wonderful building, spacious room and very accommodating staff and owner. We arrived windswept and bedraggled after walking out of a nearby hotel. The staff immediately came to our aid and presented us with a delicious warm cookie. The breakfasts were also delicious and so was the evening meal we had on the Saturday night. We also made use of the Spa, which is quite small, but you can have additional treatments there if you wish.

Professional and friendly staff from check in to check out, our room was clean and spacious. The only thing I would say to the hotel is not to hide the tea and coffee tray in the cupboard with the iron, abit odd. Would happily stay again.

Room was fine and up to the required standards. We stay alot at Hilton Hotels and usually the service is fantastic. However this was not the case with our stay. There was a wedding party staying at the same time as us which of course is not an issue. The issues began the following morning with breakfast (which we paid and extra premium for at check in). It was clearly oversubscribed and with very few staff to help run the service, there were alot of things that weren't available, depleted food, no tea and coffee, juice urns empty. We had to prompt the staff to replenish and even then it took an unacceptably long time. I have the utmost sympathy for the hospitality industry right now but the hotel did nothing to set expectations even though they would have known things wouldn't have been up to their usual high standards. The attitude of the management when I brought this to their attention was the most disappointing thing. My concerns were met with a very blunt, abrupt approach. It was almost like they took it personally and worse still did nothing to offer to put it right. Very disappointed overall and far below what we normally receive.

Nice place, but could be a lot better if there were more staff, room was not cleaned after our first nights stay, air conditioning needs to be switched off at breakfast, as it makes food cold. Also needed more bar staff when a wedding is on, as you were waiting for 20-25 mins to be served.

This hotel was great. First of the staff were so accommodating. Really made us feel welcome, even with our stupid asks. Then the rooms were kept tidy during our stay. The toilets were super clean, the number one thing i rate when it comes to hotels. Definitely would stay again and recommend others to stay in.

Bought for us as a Christmas present....Spa package. From the start of the booking to leaving the hotel all was excellent. Christina sorted our upgrade and Spa staff adapted treatment for myself due to my illness and medication. Room was huge with lovely seated area, walk in wardrobe, large modern bathroom. Food in restaurant was also 5*. All staff were extremely helpful. Will definitely visit again. No onside parking but NCP is literally 1 minute walk. I have limited mobility and this was within easy distance.

The bar service was slow. My husband ordered a drink but the bartender forgot the order. Was promised the drink free of charge but when I checked the bill we had been charged. The room wasn't to the usual high standard either - Looked tired and in need of attention. The light bulb had blown, room smelt musty and mould on bathroom ceiling. Paint work grubby. Great location but would look to stay at another Hilton elsewhere in the city.

The spa (pool, sauna and steam room) is a extra £25 even if you're staying in the hotel. The gym had about 5 machines and the hotel isn't modern. They don't really have a wide variety for breakfast either. Staff are very welcoming and its quiet.

Hotel is in a great location. Room was a good size, large bathroom and bed was extremely comfy. Our window did look in to the busy street outside however we had no issues with noise. Ideal to be in the centre of Liverpool. Close to everything you need and a £12 for 24 hours car park. Very helpful on the reception and accommodating. Rooms were lovely and clean and had a great stay. If I could rate the spa separately I would say don't bother. But the facilities are nice. Just would recommend the procedures. Very mediocre massage.

Beautiful and well equipped as always. Staff was courteous and Queens deluxe room was fairly adequate for us. No free parking as its in a city center. Swimming pool is for 16 plus and by appointment only. Spa is great but also by appointment only. Gym was tiny as per hilton standards but being a heritage building worth the money.

We had a nice stay at this hotel on a recent visit to Liverpool. The location was great - nearby a number of good restaurants and not far from Liverpool Lime Street station. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially Amelia at the Reception Desk, who helps us with some sight seeing recommendations and restaurant for dinner. Rooms could have been better - they were clean but space was a issue, and the toilet seat in one of the rooms was rather wobbly!

A strange place! We are guessing Mr Koukash is the franchisee of the Hotel and he must see there is a lot to improve and meet his previous high standards of business. Positives: Bed and sheets were very comfortable Location Shower was powerful Breakfast had good selection of things Fairly quiet Staff Negatives: Whole Hotel smelled like a swimming pool - didn't use the SPA Bar is not great, staff were friendly but didn't know how to make cocktails NO fried bread at breakfast! Some fittings broken Air con in room didn't work - worked in the Gym though Staff

Really lovely spa. Went for a massage and an hour in the spa. Really enjoyed it. Staff were lovely and the facilities pretty good though the jacuzzi area seemed to have lost a fair few tiles and the saunas didn't have any temp control. Enjoyed my time there. Quality staff.

Thanks for the lovely services by the staff. Unfortunately the Hotel was working with minimal staffing. Restaurant was not able to give a wide range of varieties. The chef at the Eggs counter was the only person during the mornings. He was extremely loaded with numerous and continuous orders. Fortunately he was extremely patient and extremely positive. Thanks.

I've booked the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel for my partner birthday gift LOBBY: when we arrived at Double Tree, it had a modern vibe to it and also the staff was very friendly and welcoming. BAR & LOUNGE: we didn't visit the bar much only for breakfast but the breakfast they served really gave you variety of choices to choose from. ROOM: we arrived at our room, the bed was lovely big and soft, you really had a good night sleep and even a nice walk in shower.

Nice big room, good air con. Food in restaurant was pretty good. Breakfast was a great selection, personally liked the cakes. Poach egg cooked perfectly. Gym is not massive but has a good selection for a decent workout

It is far too expensive for what it is. The room wasn’t the same that I saw on the pictures when I booked. Staff was nice and friendly and they changed my room. However still I don’t recommend paying that much for such an average hotel. I booked the hotel’s spa in advance. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the spa place. The pool is tinier than it looks on the photos and their massage service is a lot more expensive than many other much better places. Doesn’t worthy of it at all.
