I had a wonderful brunch at the Royal Hotel Waterloo. The service was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and well-presented, and the atmosphere was cozy and elegant. I enjoyed the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, the seasonal vegetables, and the apple crumble with custard. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and the river, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality meal in a historic setting.

We held our mum's memorial in this Hotel and chose to stay 2 nights. We have nothing but praise and appreciation for the excellent service we received both for our accommodation and the quality of the buffet served to our family and guests. I don't write glowing reports unless earned, and the staff of the Royal have been amazing. Nothing is too much trouble, clean, comfy room, delicious menu (must try the chicken pepper pot) , easy parking, friendly staff. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Liverpool.

Visited here on Saturday evening for a meal with friends and it didn't disappointment. What really stands out about this hotel though is the staff. Tom our server was friendly and informative. Hannah and Connor in the bar where so nice. The star for me though was Greg on reception. He has such a passion for the hotel and it clearly shows when he talks to you. His customer service is outstanding!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent for the Gormley statues, this place is soooo much better than the three stars. Breakfast offer was a small selection but well cooked. Really great value these days for accommodation. The Hotel is well kept has a great history and feels plush. Our room and I assume others had issues with sand flies so no windows open.

Love the Royal Hotel. Always welcoming, always spotlessly clean, and always a fantastic breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are so friendly and efficient. There are many great restaurants nearby, but I usually opt to enjoy the delicious food at the hotel bar or restaurant. Great location right by the seaside, and just a 4 min walk to the train to Liverpool or Southport. I stay in hotels all over the world, and this place gets everything right.

We didn't stay in the hotel but popped in from a day of paddleboarding at Crosby Marine lake and ordered lunch sitting outside in the sun. We had the dog with us, but we could also have sat in the small front conservatory. Staff asked would the dog like a bowl of water or treats, which is always really nice. I chose the steak and mushroom ciabatta and it was absolutely gorgeous 😍 along with wine, the other had lattes which I'm told were also very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. What a spot on location!

The Royal provided a post funeral gathering for my family on Monday this week. The Royal was outstanding in my view, and I can not thank them enough. My uncle passed away, and family came from all over the country and abroad for the funeral and for food and drinks and a gathering after at the Royal. We could not have been more impressed with the Royal. I am from London and travelled up for the funeral. The staff at the Royal were beyond excellent and sensitive and great. The gentleman on reception on the Monday morning (the man with beard) gets a special thanks for helping the family so sensitively and kindly. Nothing was too much trouble. Service was excellent at the Royal. The bar and waiting staff were very friendly and professional. The food served to the family was to a high standard (the Royal catered for about 50 of us) and overall it was the perfect place to celebrate the life of an adored member of our family who had passed away. This meant so much to us. Family stayed at the Royal overnight and only had good words. I can not thank you all at the Royal enough for what you did this Monday. Thank you very much. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Royal as a top-notch venue for anything, really. It has a personal touch and was perfect. Thank you.

New parking system cost my dad £100 and we'll never be going again. He typed in slightly the wrong registration number and got this fine, he appealed and it got rejected! This was on a Sunday our families all met up, we must've spent over £400. We used to love sitting out at the front in 2021 where the car park is now. I personally must've spent easy £1500 that summer. This summer, up until a few weeks ago, that outdoor area has been changed to a car park which a private company operates and I've spent a fraction of the money this summer than I did last summer. The Royal Hotel, you've lost mine, my families and my girlfriends families custom by refusing to refund the extortionate fine you give my dad.

We didn't stay just visited the restaurant. I had a turkey roast dinner wasn't impressed for the £17 the potatoes tasted like frozen ones and not much veg wouldn't go for a roast again. I have had other food on other visits and been nicer. Nice to sit outside and have a few drinks. Kids food was good but would be great to see it come with at least a drink.

Was abit apprehensive about stopping in a hotel alone but I had no need to worry. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for me. The room was lovely, slept really well and had fantastic views from my window. Will definitely be getting intouch with this hotel next time I want to visit!

We spent one night here. The room was a decent size but very warm, we were advised by sign, not to open any windows due to a possible invasion of sand flies! We had dinner which was from a slightly limited menu but good quality, served by a very friendly waiter. The breakfast was also good quality, and plenty of options. The hotel is situated very close to the 'Iron Men/Another Place' figures which was a definite plus point for us. Would recommend.

The location was great for local shops, pubs and restaurants. Also great for walks to see the wildlife, sea and beach. The hotel itself was of very good quality and value. Breakfast was great with a wide choice served quickly and cheerfully.

Very good service. Just one niggle. Meals very slow being delivered. A friend got hers delivered when our table had finished eating. The other people on that table had had big waiting time between servings. The room was cosy and well laid out as there were over 50 people attending the Anniversary of our Society. We all enjoyed the meal. We did get a complaint from a resident that we were too noisy (we had a singalong) forgetting that people had booked a room for the night and had already retired, and we hadn't realized the lateness of the hour. Sorry about that. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely book again.Thank You.

The rooms are clean and tidy and the hotel is well situated on the front near the estuary. The hotel is absolutely clean and tidy and really well looked after but the reason I give it 5 stars is down to the fantastic staff nothing is too much trouble for them be it the check Inn staff the dining room staff and the cleaners and we can't fault them for making our stay an excellent one

We came for a family wedding and from the moment we stepped into the hotel we were greeted by warm and friendly staff, who made us feel so welcome. We were very grateful for this as we travelled with a very mixed group, some with mobility issues. But, we were all made to feel welcome, from start to finish. The customer service is the best I've experienced - and I really mean that!! The rooms are clean and well maintained and the food is delicious. I will definitely go back there and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Liverpool!!

Went with a small group for early evening meal. Decided on a small plate (or similar name), had a pepper pot chicken with chips. It was delicious, and a decent sized portion. Other members of the group had full size meals which also looked good and good sized portions.

Afternoon tea was lovely. My mum enjoyed it hot tea and fresh sandwiches. Good selection of cakes. Just a few too many nuts on and in 1 cake x

Myself and my mum had sunday lunch in the royal, the food was lovely and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I Booked the lodge room for a treat for my mum, after her lunch - it was her birthday - The lodge was perfect for her as she struggles with mobility issues. The room was spacious, with a big shower and easy access to the room via its own ramped entrance, the room also benefits with air conditioning, which was a bonus - It could probably do with instructions on how to use, but soon worked it out for her - She really enjoyed her stay and said the breakfast was fabulous 👌

We were given the lodge as we needed ground floor accommodation. The room was beautifully furnished with a large wetroom and ample of storage for clothes. The food was delicious and the portions were large. The staff were very friendly and informative about the local area and Liverpool in general. Wished we'd stayed longer

Closer to a five star hotel than three! Rooms well maintained and clean. Food nicely prepared, generous portions and reasonably priced. Close to the beach and park, with pleasant walks. All staff friendly and helpful. Free car parking. Would stay again!

A really comfortable hotel. Good value for money. Breakfast was partly self service and then cooked food and coffee or tea served table. Large breakfast. Plenty of choice on menu. I had one evening meal in the restaurant, during my stay. Again good portions of food and good quality. Very good service at this hotel in all areas. Our room was smart, tidy and comfortable. Free parking in hotel car park and in the whole road area outside the hotel, which is a real plus. We loved the position of the hotel. So close to Crosby beach. Just a short walk. It is a super beach with the Gormley statues. Also, so handy for the train into Central Liverpool. I cannot fault this hotel. Would definitely return.

Came here for afternoon tea today. Hotel was lovely and clean and bright. Our table was prepared very nicely with a white tablecloth and napkins. Tea served in teapots. Great selection of well filled sandwiches, cakes and scones. Could not finish it all so was able to take the rest home. Staff very friendly and polite. Altogether a very pleasant experience

I would highly recommend the Royal to celebrate any occasion. We had an 80th birthday party for my mum and I can’t praise the staff enough. They couldn’t be more attentive to my family and guests to make our night so special. Every request was met with open arms. They couldn’t do enough for us. It was such a wonderful night and I couldn’t thank you enough.

We've never stayed but we live local. We been here to eat at the bar and for drinks many times. Its a lovely place and the food is superb! Royal club sandwich is my fave but the burger and the pasta are very good too. Excellent staff, very friendly and will share a joke. Location is perfect, 5 mins walk to marina and another 5 mins to the beach. Lovely setting, bar area is very clean and well set out, the conservatory part is nice and the outside terrace is great to catch some sun. Nice to go for evening drinks also and prices are reasonable.

We had lovely sandwiches for lunch, the service was quick and the staff friendly. They enquired was the food good, which many places don't, as they know it isn't. The surroundings are comfy and warm. Prices have gone up since last time we went but that's the same all over.

Second stay at this hotel. Visited family in the area. Quiet rooms. Very clean. Friendly staff that couldn't be faulted. Breakfasts were huge and one of the best we've ever experienced. Looking forward to our next visit.

We held a reception following my mother's funeral and everything went very smoothly. The 30+ guests enjoyed the food and drinks, and vegetarians appreciated that they could have a variety of sandwiches, quiches and salads. Nothing was any trouble for the staff or manager. Thanks to all at The Royal.

The hotel was great, the staff where friendly and helpful and nothing was to much for them. The only drawback for me was the lack of a lift. Will definitely book again.

Lovely old-school hotel. Great location, had a brill walk around the marina and beach. 10minutes away from the 'centre' of Crosby for plenty of eateries. Had a meal in the hotel and sat on the front, decent enough but quite expensive (just over £19 for a pint and a chilli). Rooms are decent size and clean. No aircon but not expected. Staff were really friendly, would definitely stay again.

We have had 3 stays here now with work and can't fault anything. Good value for money, great staff and a lovely location! Will definitely be bringing the family for a weekend next summer.

  • 5/5 K H. 2 years ago on Google
Visited at the weekend for a family birthday meal, and quite a few of us stayed over. We were all really pleasantly surprised how good everything was, food and rooms included, but what really stood out were the staff, who were universally excellent - very friendly and great customer service across the team. We would have no hesitation in staying again when visiting the area, or for a function.

Very very basic old unattractive decor. From the carpet to the color of the walls to the furniture and facilities like WC sink and shower, it's all basic old and outdated. The view was good and location isn't bad, close to city but nothing special. The overall experience for me was disappointing. Would give it 0 starts if I could.

We had my sister's wake at The Royal on the 9/6. The staff couldn't have been kinder or more efficient, and the whole experience was an example of how customer service should be done. We chose the afternoon tea menu option and it was perfect. The food was delicious and the presentation superb. There was food leftover and the staff kindly boxed it for guests to take home.

  • 5/5 Evan J. 2 years ago on Google
For the location, quality/size/tidiness of the room, the quality of the restaurant food, and the friendliness of the staff, this place is great value for money. Views of the roof aren't spectacular from the family room and restaurant wait times can be a bit longer at busy times, but quite atypically for me, I'm not knocking any stars off for that as the pros were so good. Bar area was very happening on the Thursday and Friday nights I was there.

  • 5/5 Lisa S. 11 months ago on Google
The staff couldn’t be any more helpful. All very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Car parking was free and was allowed to leave car after check out while we was out for the day. Room was clean ,well looked after and had fan, iron and ironing board.Bed were very comfortable . Had your own heating thermostat to set your room temperature. Breakfast was beautifully cooked to order .
