Stayed three nights , value for money hotel spotlessly clean with amazing staff . With a location and free parking you will not beat. Didn't have breakfast there but did have one evening meal which I thought was great value. Did have a few drinks in the bar and its lovely not to be ripped off. Only downside the bathroom being on the small side but as I said earlier amazing value hotel in a fantastic location ( twenty to twenty five minutes you could walk to all the sites in Liverpool centre) would I come back YES I WOULD.

My wife and stayed here between 30th August - 1st September 2021 to celebrate my wife birthday. The hotel is located approximately 5-10 minutes walk to the Albert Dock and the City Centre. The hotel itself has a nice dining area, staff were friendly and professional. We were allowed to book in early too. However, the room is small, the en-suite shower, toilet is very small, no sound proofing at all, you can hear everything throughout the floor you're on. The shower is ok but small to move around. The bed is comfy but slightly on the small side for 2 people, the pillows are too soft in my opinion. Breakfast cost ÂŁ8.50 per person for a full English breakfast. We ate elsewhere until our last morning. The breakfast was nice and tasty though. Overall, the room itself was just too small and noisy throughout which did spoil our stay. But for 1-2 nights it is just about bearable. However, I can't recommend this hotel for a week's stay.

Booked in to the Dolby hotel Queens Dock for our recent visit to Liverpool. Basically picked this hotel because of cost, parking and location which were good, unfortunately the rooms were tiny. There was no room at all to even unpack your bag or case and nowhere to put anything even if you did. We have never stayed in a twin room so small and had to negotiate around the room when getting showered and dressed so we could both get ready. The shower room if you could call it that was so small and tight it was uncomfortable to use. You had to enter this unit sideways as the door didn’t open wide enough because of the bed. There was also an awkward step up into this unit. The room was clean and the cleaning staff and reception staff were very very friendly, shame about the rooms though.

The staff here are so so friendly! There is free parking and it's close to the city centre which is so handy. Our room was clean and well presented. It was on the small side, so it was worth not bringing too much luggage. There was quite a bit of road noise if the windows are open, but they provided earplugs. If the window is closed, then it's very quiet. Beds are very comfortable and shower was hot and plenty of pressure.

A budget friendly hotel which is handy for the arena and docks. About a ten minutes walk to the shopping centre. We enjoyed a breakfast which was freshly cooked and came with cereals, bread, yoghurt, fruit, drinks, muffins and more. The rooms were small but enough room for our needs. My only issue was with the very small shower which was the smallest I've ever been in and I'm only medium build at 5 ft 4 and the large step into the bathroom which was tricky through the night. Apart from that is was fine for our stay and the staff were helpful.

Good position by the river side and not far from the town centre. Rooms clean and tidy, beds firm but comfy had a good night's sleep. Restaurant on site good food and a selection of drinks. Staff were polite and helpful. Free parking on site. Will definitely stay again. Only down side is there is no lift for anyone that needs help.

Great for a budget hotel. Staff are friendly. Rooms clean but don't expect exuberance. Toilet/showers are small pods but everything clean and working. Shower basic but hot. Good for dockside and 15 stroll from town

Great location close to Albert Dock. Prices hiked due to the Grand National. Small prefab rooms and I've actually used exactly the same bathrooms on a cruise ship 🚢 the step on is to allow for water not to seep out on rough seas! But it's fine as a budget hotel. But do check that it isn't Grand National day!!

Great location for the city centre just 10minutes wlak to Albert Dock and centre. Breakfast well worth the money with a great help your self buffet. They even had bt sports on for the champions league final. Only 1 negative was the size of the bathroom but saying that the shower was great!

Close to the centre, about ÂŁ5 in a taxi to the main food and drink area. The rooms are compact and the breakfast is basic. It is clean. It is cheap. It is convenient. Not a place for a luxury spa break but excellent for an affordable city break.

  • 4/5 Helen H. 1 year ago on Google
Super location for a city break. There is a great choice for breakfast and the full English is cooked to order whilst enjoying lovely views over the water. The rooms are well designed and very clean. The bathrooms are slightly on the small side. The staff are friendly and efficient. The onsite free carpark is a huge bonus. Great value and we will certainly come back here.

Right by the docks and decent access to the city centre and bus links. Staff were helpful and accommodating for leaving bags/luggage whilst we went about our day before checking in/after checking out. Rooms were clean, basic and good value. What more do you require when we spend most of our time out of the rooms anyway.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, rooms are a tad small and not much storage but you get what you pay for, only complaint is the shower curtain is to short and water gets everywhere.

  • 4/5 Billy S. 1 year ago on Google
Short enough walk to the city centre and the rooms are spotless. Shower is a bit cramped but the price is on the lower end so there has to be something. Residence bar that won't serve a drink until midday is off putting when there isn't a bar anywhere near.

The hotel is not overly large could easily climb the stairs to our room on the second floor. The young man at the reception carried my case up. The room although small is very compact, everything you require for a short stay. Shower a little small but we managed. The bed was one of the comfiest I've encountered not too soft or too firm. We were struck with the cleanliness. Staff all very helpful and polite, nothing too much trouble. The restaurant overlooking the docks is comfortable and the food good, although I would have preferred more vegetarian options. Breakfast excellent offering an extensive range. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a gig at the students’ union. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Bar was still open when I got back around 11:30. Reasonably priced and good to have parking included. Whilst the room was basic it was perfectly good for a short stay and acceptable value for money.

  • 5/5 Thomas M. 1 year ago on Google
Great value hotel with everything you could need. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good breakfast cooked to order with continental buffet too. Short walk into town and the arena.

Fabulous Hotel Unbelievable Value for money. Room had everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay - comfy bed and pillow, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, tv. Fabulous location, received a very warm welcome, staff were superb, had a lovely dinner and there is a free car park and free Wi-Fi. Room was clean and had everything needed plus ear plugs that we didn’t need despite being on the road side of hotel. We slept really well and heard no road noise. En-suite is small but well designed and everything worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning

Friendly staff. Very clean. Great Location for town, located on the side of the River. Free parking big bonus . Stayed there in the past and will definitely stay there again when visiting Liverpool.

My daughter and I spent one night in the Dolby Hotel. The beds are very comfortable, clean white bedding , comfy pillows. Large tv in our twin room. Our room overlooked the Dock. There isn’t a lift but that wasn’t a problem even while recovering from a total knee replacement. Just took it slowly. Staff were all friendly and helpful .Would definitely return and recommend. If you want a comfy spotless bed , shower , decent breakfast, free parking and be near the centre , this is your best option.

Great views over the water, clean well maintained bedroom, very comfy bed and very helpful staff. Location great and all other areas in the hotel well maintained and a bonus of free parking and free WiFi. We definitely will be back

Let's start with the positives. The location is ideal, only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Lovely view overlooking the Mersey if you're on the right side of the hotel The service was great. Breakfast was good. Now the negatives. The bathrooms are ridiculous, way too small. Showering, moving around, and sitting on the loo is tricky to say the least. No lift. My disabled father in law really struggled. Very noisy in the rooms, you could hear a cat walking down the corridor. No family rooms. Good value for money - No. We had booked into a different hotel for 4 nights only for them to cancel 5 days before we travelled. We then booked with the Dalby, and for the same price, we only got 3 nights.

This hotel is great. The room was really small BUT for the price and the location, with free parking, I thought it was fabulous. Will definitely use when I visit Liverpool as it is great value for money.

Perfect place if your rep or someone who wants a one or two night stop,I stayed 4 nights and with the room being so small and no wardrobe we had to keep some of our clothes in boot of car. But after saying all that's it is spotlessly clean and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Stopped for one night at the Dolby Hotel and couldn't be happier for the price we paid for the night. Extremely clean and lovely service. Rooms are basic but everything someone needs for a short stop and bed was extremely comfortable (best duvet and pillows!). So nice to be able to park up and quick walk to all the attractions. Well stocked bar to return to after an extremely enjoyable day out in Liverpool. Will 100% be back!

I think its very harsh for this hotel to be 2* as I've stayed in a lot more expensive hotels that weren't as nice as this place! Was very surprised at how nice this hotel was tbh. Just had a 4-night stay & can say it was a great little hotel for the price I paid. Really close to a lot of the places you'd want to visit. Very clean and lovely staff. Rooms are small & basic (I was on my own so I found it ok, but can understand the comments from other people about the small rooms. A super comfy bed, an adequate bathroom & very quiet. Nice little bar area on an evening with plenty of drinks & sports on the TV. My only complaint, and its more of a niggle if I'm honest, is a lack of a plug socket next to the bed. Apart from that my overall experience was hugely enjoyable and definitely exceeded expectations.

Superb value for money hotel in a great location. Receptionist was very friendly and had a hassle free check in with clear instructions, would recommend doing the online check in to make this process easier and quicker. Free on site parking, which is a bonus, especially considering the convenience of the location. Room was immaculately clean and was a credit to the staff, hairdryer, kettle with tea and coffee,TV and free good signal WiFi, no wardrobe but plenty of coat hangers on a rail. Great view overlooking the dock. Shower room was small but adequate and a great shower towels and shower gel etc included. A nice restaurant and lounge bar, again overlooking the water. Reasonably priced drinks and food also a TV with seating area, and outside seating area. Breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of hot and cold food. Overall a great stay in a great central location, represents great value for money, will certainly be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Great price, great staff too! Have lovely breakfast with vegan sausages and soya milk. Rooms clean and have waterside views upon request. Mindful though mostly showers only and can tend to be quite small bathroom areas especially the showers.

  • 4/5 Norma St J. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel is nice and clean, food is beautiful, staff very friendly. Room was clean as was the bedding, bed lovely and comfortable. However, the room was too small, and the "bathroom" was horrendously tiny, with the shower a total waste space wise.

  • 4/5 Mike A. 2 years ago on Google
Does what you'd expect from a budget hotel. Rooms are clean, staff helpful and friendly. Good choice of breakfast items. Only downfall was the tiniest bathroom ever known to a man!

  • 5/5 Robbie B. 2 years ago on Google
A hidden gem. Ultra convenient, free parking. Just 10 minutes from the docks, or centre of town. Hotel bar till 1am (very reasonable prices). Very comfortable bed. Excellent value for money.

The staff were so friendly, and the location was great! The room was nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay at this nice hotel. However, they don’t have elevators, so you need to carry your luggage with you up the stairs.

It's good value for money, rooms are dated but clean. Tea/coffee facilities in the room, shampoo and lovely quality towels. Bedding is a good quality too. Parking on site and FREE. No fuss to check in or check out. Good location, walking distance to Albert Docks. McDonald's and KFC across the road. Free WiFi too.

Nice basic hotel in a prime location. Newly painted and very clean. Only negative is that the bathroom is something out of a caravan!! Basic and plastic and very small.

  • 3/5 Paula Y. 1 year ago on Google
The location is very good with comfortable beds, very decent parking and very good housekeeping, but the hotel is on a main road and very noisy so I can't say it was the best night's sleep I ever had! The stairs up to the second floor were very steep and there didn't appear to be a lift. The rooms are quite small. Lots of people have written about the size of the bathroom/shower, and yes, it really is that small. I'm just over 5 foot and even I had to sit/move sideways! Unfortunately the WiFi wouldn't work on more than one device I had with me, there were warnings about an older protocol being used. It was also a little bit pricier than equivalent hotels in the area but it was graduation weekend for what appeared to be all of Liverpool so any hotel room was a bonus.

  • 5/5 Russell W. 1 year ago on Google
Brilliant location, walking distance from the Albert Docks, where there's something to do all day. We had breakfast at the Dolby couldn't have asked for more, good value and the English Breakfast was cooked to perfection.

Great location, 10 min walk to Albert Docks, free parking, great view of the water from the dining room. Room and hotel clean, friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Bathroom is tiny, but adequate.

  • 4/5 Franny R. 1 year ago on Google
My first visit to this hotel,It's a decent place to stay. The rooms are a bit tight and not much room to move around though especially if your sharing. The bed was comfortable,The bathroom was small and no room to move around in the shower, your almost in the sink and the water goes everywhere so it's not great. It's situated at the waterfront and great for visiting the city centre which is only a 10 min walk away with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and nice buildings,The views at the waterfront are nice too and well worth a visit, there is several coffee shops, museums all around and even ice cream vans. It's also handy for the ferry crossings to Isle of Man and Northern Ireland..

  • 4/5 Lori E. 2 years ago on Google
Get what you pay for. It was clean and tidy. Bathing facilities are compact!Staff very friendly. Room very warm after having to close window due to the noise. Could have used the earplugs provided ! If l was on my own , l would have opted for the earplugs!!Added bonus of free parking even after we had checked out. Able to to do a bit of sightseeing without having to pay for additional parking. Value for money

  • 4/5 KandA 1 year ago on Google
Good value hotel in a convenient location for a short stay. I would have given the hotel 5 stars except for asking in advance for a room at the rear (quieter) and at reception, then being given a room at the front without a word until I protested having carried my bags up two flights of stairs to find the assigned room.

  • 5/5 Helen T. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely friendly staff room was small but had everything you needed. Shower room was very small. They included free parking which was amazing and we could stop all day after we had signed out of the hotel

Thursday 22nd September 2022 We arrived about 20:00 so it was quite dark as I turned off the main road. I turned left into the car park; the first building is a casino so I thought I’d taken the wrong turning but the hotel is just past the casino. Outside the entrance to the hotel there is a reasonably big car park, found a space right next to the front doors. Entrance doors are not automatic but are pinned back and the entrance is on street level so shouldn’t be an issue for a person with mobility issues. No person on reception but Alan came out immediately after I rang the bell. Check in was very easy but I had been sent a link the day before and completed all my details. Alan gave me a card to place in my car so I had free parking. Our room was on the 2nd floor. The doors from reception to staircase are manual doors and there was two flights of stairs, bit surprised there was no lift. The window to the room was open and the traffic outside was noisy but the windows have really good sound proofing so we had a great nights sleep. The room was nice, small kettle, hair dryer and the mattress was comfy, when I woke up I didn’t have a bad back. The smallish bathroom reminded me of the bathroom you find on the ferries from Liverpool to Belfast…..very pod like but saying that it serves a purpose. There was a bar but it was quiet so we went up the road to The Baltic Fleet and we came back at 23:30; the front doors were still pinned open. The bar was open and the staff doing the late/ night shift were present but most of all they were helpful, polite and friendly. Breakfast: Coffee machine, good selection of teas, cold section with yoghurts, fruit and almond milk. Our cooked breakfast was included and was brought out promptly. There were a selection of cereals, bread, crumpets and croissant/ pastries along with a selection of jams and toppings. Overall a really nice, clean hotel and all the staff were polite, friendly and helpful; I would definitely stay here again.
