Two night stay - Bed, breakfast & bubbles package. We came across 30 James Street online and didn’t hesitate to book. Close to Liverpool lime train station and all the other attractions the city has to offer. The rooms available are luxury suites with spa baths. Booking was simple and I received an email confirmation within minutes stating all the finer details (check in/out times, breakfast times etc). Staff were presentable, welcoming & efficient. The room itself was beautiful and unique- two double beds, kitchenette and a double spa bath. We found the room to be extremely spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, in-fact, the best mattress we’ve slept on in a hotel. Sadly, the view let us down as we had scaffolding outside our window. please note - we stayed mid week as their social media and website suggests it’s a wedding / party venue. Each room seems to sleep 4 people, some sleeping 6 or more. Be mindful if you’re looking to book for a weekend break.

We have arrived home exhausted and very deflated after a disappointing stay last night. This is our 3rd stay at the hotel, but we haven’t stayed for a couple of years. On the two other occasions, we really enjoyed our stay. So we booked to stay over a good while ago and where really excited for our stay. On arrival, we waited 10 mins to be checked in, even though they had two other members of staff available behind the desk. We proceeded up to room, on floor two , it was freezing. When we tried to put the heating on it was broken. We then went to reception and asked about the heating. We where told they were aware of this and would send up some heaters. I explained I have chronic asthma and couldn’t stay in a cold room. We were then moved to level 5 room. The room was lovely a warm, how ever both rooms where were tired looking. The windows were filthy, full of condensation, so you couldn’t actually see out the window. The bed was very uncomfortable, a very thin quilt and pillows flat. We went out for tea, there was a wedding taking place, in the hotel. When we returned to the room , the music was very loud and went on until 12.45 am. Bearing in mind we where on level 5,god only knows how loud it was on other lower levels. We eventually went down to reception to complain about the music, obviously we where very unhappy. The lady in reception was very rude and almost scoffed at us for complaining about the music as we where on level 5. Then asked the security to come up to the room to see how loud it was. Almost trying to make out we where lying. We literally woke up and went straight home couldn’t wait to leave. Overall the stay was possibly one of the worst overnight stays in any hotel I have ever stayed in. The customer service was appalling, rooms are tired and don’t expect a decent nights sleep, with the uncomfortable bed and loud music. We are now cancelling our February booking and going somewhere else.

Our son and now wife had their wedding there. The check-in staff were very helpful. There were no obvious trolleys which we could have done with as I am disabled l walk with crutches. Our room was fantastic with a small kitchen with all mod cons, including a dishwasher. Very useful if you're staying longer than a couple of nights. The shower was rainforest shower which was over a double sized whirl pool bath, very nice. The wedding was fantastic, thank you to all the staff that helped, the food was fantastic.

We stayed here on the 21st of this month and received amazing service from the moment we arrived. Danny was really friendly and helpful throughout our whole visit. We really enjoyed the facts he was telling guests about the hotel. He was really engaging with everyone who walked through the door. He told us about the cocktails you could get upstairs, so once we settled in we went to give them a try and they were really refreshing. Our stay here was lovely, all the staff were really helpful and friendly but Danny stood out most for us. Thank you for making our experience so great

Unfortunately the only only good thing I can say about the hotel are the staff and the location. The beds were very uncomfortable. The air con didn't work, told us an engineer had been called out but after reading reviews we discovered the air con in the hotel hasn't been working since June. The bath tub and sink had no plugs. And the padded surround for the upper bed we had (family room) was so full of dust.

Noise banging from a singer, room has chewing gum on it, no phone in the room, I'm not impressed and I would not stay here again. Reception staff were very fast dismissing everything. Will be adding photo's

We only stayed for one night, the room was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the room was unbelievably hot.... The air conditioning didn't work and the windows are screwed shut. We had a clicking fan in the room to cool it down, which it didn't.

What a great start to our mini break! Marlon, on reception, was incredibly helpful when he checked us in this afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble! Housekeeping were quick to help with the air con and deliver the much needed ice bucket and champagne flutes! Add to this the excellent service from all the bar staff on the rooftop and we had ourselves an extremely enjoyable welcome! We’re more than confident the breakfast experience will be just as outstanding, watch this space!

The hotel is tired and run down. It desperately needs a refurb. The aircon has been broken for months and the widows are all nailed shut. We really struggled to sleep due to the heat. The fact that the pillows are the worst I've ever encountered didn't help, a bag of cement would be more comfortable. I've never looked at a Travel lodge and thought, "I wish I was staying there" before.

Filthy. Taps spin round when you try and turn them. Doors have boot print marks all over them / damaged. Stayed with wife and young child - clearly a female escort in the room next door doing you know what every hour in the hot tub throughout the night. Her hot tub was next to the wall of our room. Had to move rooms in the middle of the night. Room again filthy. Next morning, hotel staff member decided to simply walk-in to our room whilst we were getting dressed. Dump. Rooftop bar closed because of ‘technical issues’. When checking-out, reception advised refurb in January, so come back then. No thanks.

Great location and typically friendly Liverpool reception staff but that was about it. Probably the least clean hotel room and hotel generally that I have ever been in. Thick dust on light fittings, tops of curtains and headboards. Mishmash of tired, scratched and "sticky" feeling furniture. Basic function of hotel is to sleep in a bed and the beds had mattresses from 20 years ago. Better off in a travelodge. Avoid

The best hotel I have ever stayed in. There is just an atmosphere of class, joy, luxury and quirkiness all rolled in to one. It’s not just a hotel but like staying in a museum too if you are a Titanic buff. I came in 2019 and after looking through my photos became compelled to write a review. The staff were amazing, the rooms exquisite and the roof terrace bar is beautiful. I had to travel to Liverpool during the pandemic for certain reasons and it was closed and I was sorry to see that as if I ever came to Liverpool again which I will do it is the only place I would want to stay. Over all just a magnificent experience. It’s so very modern yet so very historical all at the same time.

Stayed here with my wife for one night. The reception area and bars were really nice. The corridor’s carpets were cream but stained with dirt and drinks. The room was shocking for the price we paid. Hairs in the bed, broken glass in the room window, covered over with cello tape.Pieces of the velvet style wall tearing away. Broken taps in the bathroom. We complained to the manager who gave us a free drink at the bar. The hotel was full so we couldn’t be put in another room. Overall a shocking hotel.

Just returned from a weekend stay with a group of 11 for a hen party and it was fantastic! The rooms for 6 are perfect for groups and ours had a perfect view of the docks. A lovely kitchenette stocked with tea, coffee and milk and incredible show/Spa bath. It is also in the most perfect location! During our stay there was an incident where one of our rooms got flooded at no fault of the hotels. Unfortunately the hotel was full and we were moved twice throughout our 2 night stay however, the staff were extremly helpful and did everything they possibly could to resolve the issues and compensate us for the troubles caused. Overall we really did have a fantastic stay.

I have stayed here before around 5 years ago and it was stunning! This time, not so much. I read the reviews and didn’t take no notice as it’s just people’s opinions. Wow, I walked into the room and my jaw dropped in disgust!! It’s the worst room I’ve ever stayed in, in my life. To start with, we got an offer, we’re you could have 20% off in the rooftop bar, it wasn’t even open and didn’t say anywhere on the website. I asked to change rooms, which they actually did. Was a lot nicer but no way near as nice as we previously stayed in. It’s severely run down. The alarm went off because someone on the floor above was getting a bath and the water was overflowing which resulted in water coming through the ceiling on the corridor and in the room next door. I’d never ever stay again, please avoid at all costs!!

A very special place with very special staff who truly understand the meaning of excellent customer service! We were made to feel most welcome in this prestigious hotel, steeped in history and full of originality. A massive thanks must go out to Will (the manager) and Ash on reception who made our visit so memorable. If you're visiting Liverpool any time soon, stay here, you won't regret it!!!

I absolutely loved it here, deffo stay again, the staff I genuinely can’t fault them, all lovely can easily have a chat with them, take my hat off to them they are all so hardworking into making it the best stay possible for people, the manager was my favourite had a lovely chat. Best place I’ve stayed in a very long time and such a gorgeous hotel with so much history behind it. Was so happy to stay here I shall be coming back :)

Excellent location for shopping centre, pubs and waterfront. Nice large room equipped with a kitchen and lovely jacuzzi bath. Heating switch on the wall wasn't working but a small heater was provided in the room. Had an enjoyable stay and would stay here again.

Disgusting bedsheets, they were stained with blood and smelled really bad. Wouldn't recommend for a romantic getaway. Nothing luxurious about the place, the rooms are also very cold.

We stayed in a room of 8. It was clean and comfortable with clean fresh bedding and plenty of clean fresh towels and toiletries. The breakfast was superb with a good selection. All of the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Its a fabulous location being right near to James Street station. An impressive building with good views of the city from the bar (which has a great cocktail menu btw). We had no problem at all with the temperature in the room but it wasn't a particularly hot or cold day. As previous reviews have said there were no mattress covers, and there were a few signs of wear and tear such as a stain on the carpet and marks on the bathroom suite so if that's particularly important to you should really stay somewhere else and pay twice the price. We enjoyed our stay.

We are staying at the James hotel for a few days, the room we are in is wow, stunning! And so far we are absolutely loving our stay. The staff here are absolutely amazing, the manager is really lovely and very approachable, and Rachel and Christopher who man the front desk are absolute stars, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are both bright and bubbly from the moment you walk into the hotel making you feel at home here. I will definitely be picking this hotel for future stays at Liverpool. The hotel is 10/10 and the staff are definitely 10/10 Fabulous place, fabulous people, what more could you ask and want for?!

Beautiful interior but needs a little TLC. Large rooms with everything required. Unfortunately we could not open the windows and the air-con was stuck on boiling hot. Despite asking for assistance and fans, none arrived. Breakfast was lovely.... Cooked items, cereals and pastries. Staff were friendly and helpful. Perfect spot for exploring the docks. Plenty bars and eateries around. I would stay here again.

Would definitely stay again ! One of the girls in our group hurt her leg whilst shopping and they couldn’t have been more helpful when we arrived to the hotel! All the staff were really friendly, getting us ice, getting us extra pillows, they did more than enough. Breakfast was beautiful and there was plenty of options to choose from, the room was lovely and we had a good nights sleep. Special thank you to Billy, Jack, Peter, Will, Jamie Lee and Alex (sorry if we missed names!)

On the outside rooms look lovely, decent size but definitely in need of a deep clean, carpets are filthy, beds don't have mattress covers, we were informed the night before there was no heating they did provide fan heaters. We had to ask for sugar etc I asked for decaff but was just told no, pool not available or spa. The staff look like they slept in their suit the others looked like they worked on a market stall overall I'd definitely stay elsewhere.

Came here for my 30th birthday. Had a amazing weekend all the staff where fantastic. Especially Connor he made the trip for us he is a credit to your hotel friendly enthusiastic and fun The cocktail class was outstanding the food was also exceptional. The hotel was a little run down & the rooms hadn't been cleaned properly even when we asked reception to give it a once over in the kitchen & the fridge leaked.

We are currently staying at this hotel for my hen, its not often I write a review but I feel I need to make people aware of this place. We are staying in The Vault which is the biggest room here which can hold 20 guests. Upon entering the room it looked great but after closer inspection this place needs a massive overhaul, the bathroom has mold on the ceiling, the curtains are hanging off the rails, the dust is everywhere, the floors are absolutely filthy, the room has not been cleaned once since we've been here, we've long run out of toilet roll and if you want to have a shower you can forget it - the water in the basement runs cold if you are lucky. We complained numerous times about the shower to which we were all advised different things. The bedding is thin and the pillows are flat. The door handle is hanging off the bathroom door. The worst part though is the absolute catfish of a swimming pool / spa. What a disgraceful room - it is the dirtiest run down room in this whole hotel. My sister and friends paid alot of money for us to have the secret door experience and pool party - none of it happened - none of the staff knew what was happening, it was all meant to be a surprise for me but ended up with a staff member ruining the surprise when she knocked on the door and I answered. The mold on the ceilings down there is quite frankly hazardous to human life. The pool was cloudy and there were plasters and bracelets on the side. Mental vents and cracked tiles in the shower area. We didn't even get the drinks package we ordered when we arrived and the speaker system kept cutting out. Its an embarrassment. We left and went out instead. Apparently the parent company has entered into administration which explains why this place is turning into an absolute hell hole. Please - be careful if you book this place we don't expect much a clean bed and a hot shower is all but you wont get either here. Absolute farce.

Room boiling with no working air-con, Wi-Fi is shocking and after speaking with reception nothing was said/ done. Overall the room was very overrun and needs a refurbishment. No parking and have to pay separately. Room overall was okay but for the price is definitely not worth it and gets 2 stars. Location is excellent. Overall wouldn’t recommend unless a refurbishment is made.

  • 2/5 Robert H. 8 months ago on Google
I think I am being generous with 2 stars. the room and hotel is *very* tired and in desperate need of a refresh. Aircon broken, WiFi not working in the room (working elsewhere in hotel) no pug in the bath, toilet system old and hard to flush, extractor in bathroom not working together with a retrofitted shower resulting in some mold around the tiles. No parking onsite. Restaurant food average, much better options around. Stayed during the golf Open where all hotels are full but at around £350 a night this place can't be recommended.

Remember to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This website will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the best in this area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be let down. One of the girls in our group hurt her leg whilst shopping and they couldn’t have been more helpful when we arrived to the hotel! All the staff were really friendly, getting us ice, getting us extra pillows, they did more than enough.

A beautiful place to spend an evening, went to my friends wedding, couldn't fault the place, everything was spot on, food drink, service etc. Rom 5:7-10 “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”

For the price of the rooms it was very below standard. Room was absolutely filthy, black carpet that was thick with dust along the skirting. Headboards had about an inch thick of dust on them also. No air con in the rooms and our windows were bolted shut. Turned the jets on to have a bath in the jacuzzi bath and black dirt started to pour out 😞 Reception have stated that the new owners did not want to invest in Air Con which is very disappointing for such a busy hotel. We did get upgraded for the night which was nice of the staff to do. However it is in a great location with bars on your door step and close to the main shops & docks area. The reception staff were very friendly and as we're the bar staff on the rooftop bar. But as for the standard of the rooms, I wouldn't rush back to this hotel.

  • 1/5 Laura M. 7 months ago on Google
Rooms were filthy, tidy but filthy. No aircon. 4 flimsy pillows for 5 people couldn't see out of windows coz they were so dirty, mould around Bath, mould from jets in whirlpool bath. Ended up getting moved rooms to the vault it was better but needs work. Holes is walls with wires showing, no air con, no water pressure in showers. For a party of 10 people spending a lot of money is was disappointing. Staff were lovely at check in. Staff on phone when moving luggage need retrained in customer service and manners. Definitely won't stay here again. Pity because it is a beautiful building with a beautiful entrance

My stay here was not as good as I had hoped. The hotel is in a great location, right next to the docks. It is right next to the main road, however, which means it can get noisy in the morning rush hour. The rooms are decorated lavishly and the overall titanic theme is great. Lots of info on the history of the titanic dotted around the hotel. The jacuzzi bath tub and shower were nice. Good amenities in the room including safe, kettle with tea and coffee, iron and plenty of hangers. The disappointing aspects of my stay were: - staff not so helpful or professional at check in. No information provided for Wi-Fi or breakfast, I had to enquire later. - breakfast on the first day of my stay started at 8:30, subsequent days it was at 8am. This is far too late for most people who need to get to their conference or other daily engagements which meant I missed breakfast on some days - on the first morning I had a staff member barge in to my hotel room whilst I was asleep at 7am and then walk out. Highly inappropriate - there were cracks in the Lino on the floor in the bathroom - toiletries were not replenished over my several day stay, and the room was not made up and towels changed every day. I would have thought this was a normal daily occurrence in a good quality hotel - I had another encounter with a discourteous staff member on the final day who started to threaten me with extra charges for late checkout rather than remind. He was also attempting to enter my room without permission before I reached the door. Highly unprofessional Overall I think the hotel looks great but the experience is not what I expect of a hotel that cost me £120/night. Lots for them to improve on and hopefully they will read this review and act on it.

Had an amazing experience here. The room service could have been better, but all in all, it was great. The rooms were clean, and the jacuzzi bath was to die for.

  • 4/5 Dieter H. 5 months ago on Google
Upon checkin we were notified by the kind and friendly receptionist that we had been upgraded to a large room with a jacuzzi and a kitchenette, which just made our stay all the more comfortable while in liverpool for a wedding. The room was massive and the two double beds suited us just fine as we were three guests in one room. Thank you very very much!

Stayed for one night and was not that impressed with some of the stay, the room was okay but in need of some TLC, the room was tidy but a few dirty glasses in the kitchen area and a chip on the champagne glass we had for our complimentary bottle.of fizz. Jacuzzi bath was a plus point but taps broken in the kitchen and bathroom. Bed was so uncomfortable, I usually never write bad reviews but the beds definitely need to be sorted. Breakfast looked good but wasn't hot, I was disappointed in that. I have to add the staff where really nice.

Like the Titanic, my heart sank as I walked into the room, it was like walking into a fridge! Room was freezing cold, we were told there was an issue with the heating (how long has this 'issue' been going on!) Had to make do with 2 tabletop heaters. Apparently the problem was all over the hotel so we couldn't have another room! chandelier not working, bedside lamps very dim, unsuitable for reading. No teaspoon to stir tea, had to use a pen! No telephone to call reception, had to use mobile. No slippers, nor dressing gowns. No chairs!! So you have to sit on bed. I'm very sensitive to the cold & the bed was so cold, I thought it was wet!! Our view from the window was...... a wall 🧱 😳 There is nowhere to hang the wet towels, we had to drape them over the bath. It was extremely cold & draughty during the night, if I put the heater on I couldn't stop sneezing, plus it was noisy. If I switched it off, we froze. The jacuzzi was OK but there was no fan or ventilation in the bathroom so the condensation was pouring off the walls even next morning. The socket by my bed was hanging off the wall, a H&S hazard. Overall, it was a nightmare of a stay. I was anticipating the receptionist asking 'did you enjoy your stay'?? I would have exposed him/her to my vulgar vocabulary! I know it's not the staff's fault, the hotel needs a COMPLETE REVAMP & H&S check. The owners should try coming to stay a few nights to see how they like it. I dislike negative reviews, but this hotel needs to be called out

Fantastic service and the cleaners did their best, but this place is a pit. Leaking roof, musty smell, beds so thin you can feel the springs. Dust everywhere, no heat - they give each room a tiny space heater that dries out the air and gives everyone a sore throat. But the place has so much potential! It’s just badly in need of a top to bottom renovation. Bad pillows, thin comforter, cheap shampoo, dishes chipped. It’s really a shame. Not worth it. It’s really quite gross.

Beautiful room, very friendly and helpful staff greet you on arrival. Amazing jacuzzi bath and giant beds. We were there for a Hen Weekend, but a bit of a chilled out one for us. However the next room was definitely not having a chilled out night. Doors banging, cackling, screaching and shouting until all hours(3am). This is on a Sunday night. I'm not sure if they have quiet floors, but if not, from my experience I would not recommend for families or couples wanting a quiet break which is a shame.

We had problems with our room when we stayed, such as no cold water in our taps, no air conditioning, and the carpet not being cleaned. We asked for these things to be resolved whilst we were out and they weren't. The room was very worn out also which was disappointing for the price paid. I think the room should be left vacant until some money could be spent on it, like the doors and sealant around the bath etc. However, we spoke to a manager and they were very understanding and were able to refund some of our stay. This softened the blow in many respects.

We loved our stay here, yes could do with a refresh in places but generally it was lovely. The staff were really helpful, specifically Danny in the bar who told us lots about the history of the hotel. We had a really good breakfast here and the breakfast staff were very helpful. Wonderful views of the Docks. Would return!

I have just deleted my first draft of my review as it was becoming a novel!! So i will stick to bullet points. It states on their website they are the UKs number 1 hotel??? How on Earth is this allowed to be said, it is in my opinion not even the best hotel in the Albert Dock area never mind the city of Liverpool!! The rooms (we had 2 due to being moved because the tv didnt work in the first) are tacky, ill thought out, terribly decorated and very very tired looking which is shocking as it is only 7 years old as a hotel. But it is typical Signature Living tat furniture (yes i know they dont own it anymore but the new owners havent changed it) The only one positive thing i have to say about it is the night manager was great at resolving an issue we had, an issue i bad requested to be fixed at 3.30pm which must have fell on deaf ears or ignored. Aside from the tacky worn out furniture, I went to reception twice, once to have my key card fixed as it wasnt working and once to check out. On both occasions i stood there for at least 30 seconds before the receptionist looked up from their phone, not a great example of customer service. We stayed for 2 nights and didnt have our room serviced on day 2, leaving us with damp towels as there was no towel rail or door hook to hang our towels in the bathroom. At 5pm we went to have a drink on the terraced bar which we were looking so much forward to using only to be told it was closed due to the weather??? It wasnt raining and it wasnt even windy?? We are far from snobs but I have to say this hotel is in my opinion one of the poorest experiences i have had in a hotel. It feels like it belongs to The Britannia Group. My advice is stay in the Adelphi, at least your expectations will be low and you wont feel disappointed

Was my wife's favourite hotel but now sadly is her worst. Paid for a luxury family room, no air conditioning, no mini bar and it's dated. Telephone not connected to reception (basically no communication) In need of a modern touch so sad to see this hotel being run into the ground. We asked for the Titanic floor but we got a Harry Potter theme instead. We felt the room was furnished by Hogwarts. The wardrobe was older than Pontins. However the staff are fantastic!!!! We got put on the 1st floor whilst a wedding was taking place. We would have preferred to be on a higher floor due to music bouncing till 1am. The breakfast was cold buffet style. The last time we stayed it was cooked to order so we have seen poor changes made. Sorry can't recommend to stay.

Really nice hotel, great staff (especially the night manager who's name escapes me! Thanks for the ginger ale!). The location is awesome and everything is easily accessible. If I had to say anything slightly negative... A lick of paint is needed here and there, new management have taken over so it'll be done soon.

Attended a wedding. The wedding would have been lovely if the master of the ceremony wasn't so rude and abrupt. He also seemed to make up his own rules. Manhandling people who didn't move the first time he mentioned it and tried to sit my kids, partner and I separate for the service. He also ushered my son outside with the bridesmaids and flower girls and my son ended up in the wedding pictures. Also found the barman didn't seem to know what he was doing at all and made up his own rules if he didn't know the answer. The food at the reception was hot served food, all deepfried for too long in oil that appeared to need changing. For the cost of the occasion I feel this definitely needs to be addressed before the next wedding.

We unfortunately had a really disappointing stay at this hotel. Firstly when we arrived we were told multiple times we had not paid a £100 deposit and after around 20 minutes we had to find an old bank statement of proof of this as staff were adamant we hadn’t paid. After sorting this and dropping our bags, we left as we had a tour booked - whilst on the tour I received an email informing me that the spa was closed due to staff having covid (we had booked a spa package and were supposed to be in the spa the next day). I found it very strange that nobody had informed of us this when we dropped our bags an hour earlier. We then tried ringing multiple times to see what our options were considering we had paid for a package deal, but got no answer so eventually had to leave our activity early to walk to the hotel and talk to staff. Whilst there we then found out that the spa had actually already been closed for 3 days but nobody had bothered to tell us earlier, even when we had already been to drop our bags. Eventually the manager we spoke to gave us a better deal for our stay and some told us they would leave prosecco in the rooms as it was my mums 60th (although they did also forget this and we had to ring down for it eventually) so I am grateful for her help. The rooms were incredible and couldn’t be faulted, especially the jacuzzi bath, beds were very comfy and lovely decor. Breakfast the next morning was okay. I have since emailed the spa 4 times to ask why we were not told about the closure and have received no reply - I was initially not planning to leave a bad review considering the manager on the day had helped us however I now feel there is no choice as this is really disappointing service from a supposedly high quality hotel.

Yesterday myself and a group of friends visited 30 James Street to have a tour, the first one ever. A young man Danny did the tour, he was lovely, very pleasant and informative, also he was very patient, it was all very interesting, After the tour we had afternoon tea, this was extremely good and plentiful. I can’t recommend it enough, a fabulous few hours. All the staff were lovely and friendly. Thank you 30 James Street

Sleeping should be the bare minimum when booking a hotel but even that could not be accommodated at this hotel. I had booked in for my graduation something I had been waiting to attend for 2 years and this hotel turned it into a nightmare. Firstly we checked into a 4 person room with no heating or a working phone, which obviously was less than ideal for my 80 year old grandmother staying with us at the time. Then we had to move rooms the next day and completely check out on the day of my graduation making it even more stressful, only to be woken up by extremely loud blaring music at 11pm still continuing till the morning hours with no possible way to sleep through it and a room that still has no heat source. I am absolutely disgusted at my experience during my stay at this hotel and can’t believe I’m not even able to sleep whilst staying here which I do not believe to be considered to much to ask when staying in a hotel for the weekend. If you want to be a well rested and warm guest do not stay here.

I wouldnt even give this property a score of 1. I stayed here and the room was very unhygenic. The hot tub/bath had brown stains like nobody even bothered to clean. The bath had a horrible smell. The room was unhygenic too. 101% they never bothered to clean the room. On check-in I had asked regarding discounted parking and was told no discount available for parking only to find out on checkout by another member of staff that they do offer discounted parking. I would highly NOT recommend this property to anybody!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were busy but always happy to help. Room was comfortable but a bit cold. Two large, comfortable beds in a turret room. No noise disturbance even though hotel was full. Lovely rainfall shower and jacuzzi bath. Fantastic location. Good value.

Happy with room and facilities. In a great location lots of shopping and restaurants. Unfortunately both nights we stayed we were kept up by very loud music and screaming. Couldn't use phone to ring reception didn't work. Doors slammed all hours of night. Literally no sleep both nights probably wouldn't stay again

I’ve stayed here on two occasions, both visits being very enjoyable and the rooms luxurious with jacuzzi baths. Staff are very friendly and make sure you’re well looked after. Thank you! X

The hotel is a wonderful statement on the decline of the shipping industry that provides the building with history. When one walks in the past grandeur and lavish appointments are immediately apparent. Unfortunately even more obvious is the neglect it has faced since. For a hotel that prides itself on a past glory and prices itself according to its history it is sadly poor in quality. We paid a 3 figure sum for one night in one of the rooms, along with a £40 deposit against damage to the room. We were therefore very disappointed to find a hole in the wall and another in the floor. The curtains were hanging off the rails, the headboard just leant against the bed and the rooms were in no way soundproof. (We were kept up all night by the couple in the neighbouring room, and although their behaviour is not the hotels fault. I was surprised to find they were returning visitors.) The decor was very tired and in some cases a poor attempt had been made at maintenance. With the amount of money they charge, maybe its time the whole place had a thorough refurbishment. That being said, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist came up twice in the night (once at the request of the guests in the room in the opposite side and again after midnight at our request) to ask the wretched couple to keep the noise down but sadly was ignored. He did return a third time at about 4.30am after which they did finally settle allowing us to get a couple of hours. Either way, a change to the ventilation layout might stop the noise being literally piped into our room and a spot of soundproofing would be very helpful. It should also be said that the bed itself was very comfortable. If a refurbishment was done, we may be tempted to visit again.

We paid over £600 for 3 nights. I was disappointed in the room. It was very tired and has wall paper scratches and parts of the bathroom were broken. Staff we brilliant and friendly. Resurant on top is a must. Views we amazing and the foods really nice. Great setting. Not sure I would stay again though.

Great hotel, room was so clean and lovely jacuzzi bath! Staff recommended places to eat and drink, no questions were a problem. Due to personal circumstances I went to reception at 2 am to check out and said I was leaving as I couldn’t go back to my room, the manager stopped me from leaving as she said it wasn’t safe for me to walk around liverpool alone at that time of morning, she was very caring and let me stay in one of the empty rooms free of charge, so kind throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend the hotel! Staff went above and beyond, great rooms and great location!

Beautiful, nostalgic hotel with an amazing room. I loved our room so much with two beds, kitchen and bathroom with jacuzzi. I wanted to move in! The name of the hotel is not apparent so we were hesitant at first. Parking had to be at a car park. We had many luggages which the entrance unfortunately did not have a ramp, so we had to carry all your items up some steps to make it to the lobby. We enjoyed our stay and the location as well.

We didn't stay, just went to Morgan's Spa for the afternoon. The manager Sasha was welcoming, professional and so helpful. We had the spa to ourselves, the hydrotherapy pool was gorgeous and sauna really spacious and relaxing. There were complimentary teas and coffees as well as chilled water. The changing rooms were very luxiouroys and the seated area very comfortable. The value for money was second to none

Pros - Lovely rooftop cocktail terrace with a view. Nice location, friendly and accommodating staff. Cons - Tables needed a wipe over and lift needed a clean Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the Espresso Martini, it was excessively syrupy/sweet. Verdict - I would return and recommend for location, and friendliness but would order something different.

This was a hidden gem! Rooms are all creative and different, they were clean, staff was exceptional and it has a rich history connected to the titanic! The roof top bar may be the best place in town to enjoy a drink! I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a hotel before… that’s how much I enjoyed this place! (Pictures of the building and the view from the bar)

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. This web site will compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be disappointed. What a great start to our mini break! Marlon, on reception, was incredibly helpful when he checked us in this afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble!

I am vegan and they accommodated me perfectly. Room top terrace with the view of the Docks was amazing. Can't wait to stay again

A 2 night stay for a large group of ladies, in a different room both nights, not a problem, until the 2nd rooms weren't ready until, 2pm, half an hour before we were due to go out.which the hotel knew. Windows screwed shut, air conditioning not working. Dirty sheets. Only member of staff that was pleasant and polite was the concierge. We paid a lot of money to get highly disappointing and below par service. Only good point as far as my stay was concerned, the beds were comfy!

Stayed at this hotel for my sisters Hen Party. Massive spacious room for 6 of us, great kitchen facilities and very clean and modern. Great location for town centre and docks. Breakfast next morning was nice although service was a little slow but would definitely come back again.
