Only
stayed
one
night
and
I
have
to
agree
with
some
of
the
other
reviewers.
The
rooms
are
nice
enough
but
in
serious
need
of
TLC;
sockets
coming
out
the
wall,
damaged
and
misaligned
furniture,
it
makes
everything
feel
a
bit
naff
when
otherwise
it
was
a
lovely
room.
For
a
hotel
that
boasts
about
it’s
4-star
status
in
the
welcome
letter,
it
could
be
better.
The
restaurant
(Hanley’s
Brasserie)
is
where
most
of
my
issues
arise.
We
were
advised
to
book
a
time
slot
as
otherwise
we
would
likely
have
to
wait
a
while,
no
problem.
We
arrived
that
night,
only
two
of
us,
and
were
seated
pretty
quickly
and
asked
if
we
wanted
drinks,
no
drinks
menu.
I
don’t
think
they
even
have
one.
We
then
waited
over
20
minutes
for
our
drinks
and
to
have
our
order
taken,
and
this
was
only
after
I
prompted
a
different
waiter.
We
ordered
some
bread
and
butter
for
the
table,
our
starters
and
mains.
We
expected
a
warm
crusty
roll
or
something
like
that
but
I
almost
burst
out
laughing
when
the
waiter
brought
over
a
plate
of
cold
sliced
bread
(looked
like
hovis)
and
some
butter
packets.
Almost
a
tenner
for
20p
worth
of
bread,
wow.
The
starters
were
lovely
however,
Thai
chicken
skewers
and
pulled
pork
croquettes,
can’t
complain.
The
mains
were
not
good
though,
my
other
half
got
a
steak
as
they
didn’t
have
the
lamb
and
it
was
grey
and
unbelievably
chewy.
No
steak
knife
was
provided,
I
had
to
go
and
find
a
waiter
to
ask
for
one.
I
expected
the
steak
wouldn’t
be
very
good
so
I
went
for
the
slow
cooked
chicken
and
potatoes.
I
tried
to
enjoy
it
but
the
potatoes
were
undercooked
and
the
meal
overall
just
stank
of
fish
and
had
a
fishy
aftertaste.
Altogether
it
wasn’t
super
expensive
but
I
kind
of
want
my
money
back
for
the
food.
The
restaurant
staff
were
all
young
and
clearly
inexperienced
but
we
stayed
on
a
weekday
and
to
be
honest
they
were
fine;
very
friendly
and
helpful
once
prompted.
The
breakfast
was
a
standard
hotel
breakfast
buffet
and
it
was
better
than
our
evening
meal
the
night
before.
The
saving
grace
however
was
the
spa
and
treatments.
The
atmosphere
was
very
relaxing
and
the
decor
was
lovely.
The
staff
were
very
friendly
and
professional.
The
relaxation
room
is
a
great
place
for
a
book
and
a
cuppa,
just
try
not
to
fall
asleep!
Again,
I
can’t
blame
the
staff
as
they
were
always
friendly
and
helpful
but
whole
thing
reeks
of
lack
of
budget
unfortunately
(which
I’m
sure
covid
has
had
a
hand
in).
