nice rooms, unfortunately some of them don't have great views, but we were able to change room and the staff were very accomodating. Everything was smooth and easy, the parking was very useful, room was cleaned properly. The bar is really lovely, it feels very grandiose, but honestly I wasn't blown away by the food. It was nice, but overpriced. Nevertheless, for the overall experience I would still give 5*

Back to this fab hotel for a spa and stay for a second time. The staff are friendly and helpful. We love the feel of the hotel . Location is ideal for visiting the various attractions of the city. We will be visiting again! Thanks to all staff for their efforts to make our stay a memorable one!

Stayed and visited the spa in February 2024. Really impressed by our experience here, the room was a great standard, spa was spot on, loved the saunas and the heated beds. Thought both pools were really clean and lovely to use. Wish we'd ordered a drink to accompany our visit. Staff at reception, in the spa and at the breakfast were all really friendly and accommodating. Bit of noise from the road outside but didn't affect our sleep, we are just used to quiet of the country

This is our second time staying at this Hotel and it won’t be the last. It’s a lovely little gem of a find. Highly recommend it. The location is ideal and if you love a walk easy to get around on foot, fresh and clean rooms, restaurants are both lovely and great service and food. I cannot find a fault. Oh and the people are so friendly and take care of everything.

This hotel in the Georgian quarter and it is a mash up of modern and shabby chic and just beautiful. It has a bar (old London coachworks) and a restaurant (1931) as well as a spa kitted out with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, treatment rooms and a steam room. Well worth a stay, and a visit to the spa.

Wonderful hotel, you can't go wrong. Great design throughout with large comfortable rooms. The service is first rate, friendly and efficient. 2 great restaurants and bar available. I also think the location is great, near the cathedrals and lots of bars and restaurants. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a car park although there are some nearby. Probably the best hotel in Liverpool, it's certainly where I will be staying if I return.

Had a really enjoyable 24 hrs at the hotel. All of the staff were friendly and polite, and if you had an issue, they resolved it very quickly. Spa was excellent. Would prefer a walk in shower, rather than shower over the bath, but that's personal preference. Bed was very comfortable. Will be back.

Was at this hotel for a wedding, lovely hotel , great food , very pleasant staff, never stayed overnight so can't comment on rooms. All in all a nice place for a wedding.

  • 2/5 Adrienne R. 8 months ago on Google
There are stairs everywhere so difficult for people with mobility issues, the staff were sweeping the floor around the wedding guests, the canapés didn't include vegetarian, the food was cold and bad, the breakfast service very poor - tables not set properly, 1 chef serving hot food which was very dry. All in all very disappointing.

I stayed at Hope Street Hotel twice (August 2017 and February 2023). I really like this hotel for its style, comfort and decor. It is quite centrally located. All staff encountered were very helpful, friendly and highly professional. I will definitely return again. 5 stars.

Exceptional hotel. Beautifully designed. The Spar experience is amazing - you will not be disappointed. The outside jacuzzi is not to be missed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Customer service was excellent. We did not go to the restaurant but did have breakfast. Plenty of choice foods and drinks to be had, cooked to your preference if needed. Parking near by which I pre booked with no hassle. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely return. Liverpool has so much to offer.

Had a fantastic stay with my son. The room was spotlessly clean with very comfy beds. The shower and bath were super. The spa facilities are amazing, and the whole spa area is clean and very well maintained. The afternoon tea is amazing and the sandwiches were fresh and the cakes were beautifully made. I had a facial and again the whole experience was relaxing and the therapist was a lovely girl who advised me on products which I purchased.the whole hotel is very well looked after and all staff are smart and very friendly. I recieved a welcome call before my stay to check all details about my stay, which I thought was a lovely touch. I will certainly be coming back to this amazing hotel. Angela Harrison

Has a lovely stay at HSH. Located bang in the middle between two cathedrals and a nice walk to bold street with the associated restaurants and cafes. Slept very well. All the staff were lovely. Would recommend.

Lovely stay. Breakfast was nice. Good selection of biscuits and toiletries. Rooms lock with one key. It would be nice if a chain could be added for extra safety.

Great locations nice clean rooms disappointed to see the pool closing early however free breakfast and drinks offered. Breakfast very nice only issue was the room was very cold and the heating wouldn’t stay on. All around great

Absolutely lovely hotel, great location for the center of town and directly opposite the Philharmonic... We stayed in a family room, plenty of room for the two of us. Bathroom big and spacious. Nice and clean. Visited the bar a couple of times, was quite nice, didn't have breakfast there.

Possibly the most beautiful and stylish hotel in Liverpool. Friendly and well trained staff. A truly elegant spacious environment to relax and view an incredible city. With an incredibly designed spa that will leave you feeling like a new person.

Nice hotel, beautifully presented and nice friendly staff. Room was on the first floor on the Herdman St side of the building. The rooms aren't particularly well soundproofed so heard other guests in their rooms and at 5am we were woken up to the noise of deliveries and recycling bins being emptied.

Beautiful modern hotel. Coffee machine in room. The TV said it allowed phone streaming and apps but neither was working. The spa is a separate cost for hotel guests. 45 on the weekend 35 in the week. No discount for hotel guests so don't just stay there for the spa but the thermal journey was well recommended and we will be back but not to stay at the hotel. Staff were all great and friendly.

We stayed here yesterday for one evening as part of an event we were invited to. The hotel is beautiful with a traditional yet modern appeal. The staff were amazing and very courteous and helpful. We stayed in room on the first floor overlooking Hope Street and it was exceptionally clean and tidy with a very refreshing scent throughout the room. The room was equipped with fresh water, tea and biscuits and a Nespresso machine. The bed was a very large comfortable bed with very plump pillows. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style but had a chef serve whatever you wanted. There was a wide selection of hot breakfast items and continental items too. We also used the spa which was amazing. The pools were excellent and comfortable relaxation beds. We also had 2 treatments each which were immensely relaxing. The staff in the spa were great and very accommodating! Lunch was included in the spa offer and was served in the small spa cafe area. Lunch was delicious and even catered for a very picky eater. The hotel is situated in the centre and close by to the cathedral. Overnight Parking is close by to the hotel on the street opposite however it was full so we parked at the cathedral costing just £20 for 30hours which we thought was very good compared to other places we have been before. Highly recommend this hotel for all it has to offer, will definitely be returning in the future.

Stayed here at the end of January. Absolutely stunning hotel, in a great location. Breakfast both mornings was plentiful with a great selection. Rooms spacious & clean. The bar in the evenings was very full, no free tables for a drink before we went out. Maybe double check if you need a booking for the bar prior to arriving. The spa was amazing too as we spent a few hours there on the Saturday. We also got treatments which were so relaxing.

Being a previous employee at this hotel I can say that it is a lovely hotel to visit and stay at. During my time there I worked with amazing people and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting or looking for a place while in Liverpool.

Stayed here as part of a golf trip and it was in a great location. Great room, food and lovely staff. Perfect for a city break. No parking at hotel but they do have an agreement with one at the cathedral which is very close and discount available. I will definitely being coming back.

Took my husband here for a surprise birthday treat having already been to the spa having such a good experience. This trip was a bit disappointing sadly. The reception area looks very modern and sleek but the room was not cosy or very comfy. It had some nice touches, coffee/water and toiletries but nothing you wouldn't expect. The wardrobe was wonky, windows didn't shut and the room just felt very uncared for and a bit out of date. I don't think bare floors in winter are probably very cosy anyway and there seemed a lack of heating(?). We visited in Nov. I think my expectations were probably too high having only visited the spa before. The spa is absolutely fantastic and the treatments were first rate however, on this second visit the changing rooms were dirty with hairs and dirt/threads all over the floor and the steam room was not working, one of the things I always look forward too (another disappointment). Everything was very clean and the staff were pleasant but seemed less attentive than expected, more "distracted" than focused on guests. The absolute worst thing about this hotel is that there was always a group of smokers at the entrance, you have to walk through a cloud of nicotine to get in, honestly, this is an easy fix. I wouldn't pay to stay there again if the rooms are all like this, perhaps we got an "older" room? I would book treatments and visit the spa again, only I would check all of the facilities are working first.

We stayed for the Spa and Stay deal and it was fab. Reasonable price which also gained you access to the spa for a few hours - everything was extremely comfortable and the service was immaculate. Thank you!

Stayed on my wife's birthday and they did a lovely job with the piped birthday message, petals and chocolates. The room was lovely and the staff were very friendly. We look forward to coming back soon.

Myself and my girlfriend used the spa as a surprise for my birthday and it was an amazing experience, spa is amazing with alot of options to help wind down and relax, food and drinks were delicious and the staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to make it a 5* experience for both of us. Would definitely recommend booking the spa and their lunch package aswell and overall an amazing experience made better by the team will definitely be coming again.

Amazing hotel, overall loved my stay and the visit to the spa. Lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful. I had to make a couple of changes before my stay as well and this wasn’t a problem for them whatsoever. I was going to rate 4* because I got woken up earlier than I’d have liked to by the cleaner in the morning speaking loudly on the phone, this was probably about 9am, but I expect most people were up and out at this point so I don’t think it was a big deal for most people staying in the hotel. Also, you can hear lots of movement from other rooms from within your own room - it wasn’t a massive problem, but was one which made me a bit conscious to move around later at night as I didn’t want to disturb other guests. I will absolutely be returning here though as it was a lovely stay, comfy beds and clean room. Great extras in the room too like complimentary coffee and biscuits.

Wonderful hotel. Only gave it four stars because of its lack of automatic doors. I know that sounds lazy, but when you're trying to carry two or three big suitcases around a building, getting trapped by doors isn't much fun.

Wonderful hotel with plenty of character. It’s deceptively large as it maintains a boutique feel with clean and unique rooms. Spa and gym is excellent and breakfast, bar and food is all very good too. Great location at the top of Liverpool for the universities or even to go into town.

Clean simple rooms. Drinks making station is good and there's an iron in the room. Very helpful staff. Quite expensive.

Attended for a conference. Staff very friendly. Menu from their restaurant is great. I had the ragu pizza and this was very nice. Friend had the lamb pide and this was fantastic. The view from the conference room looked over the outdoor pool which looked amazing but very open to everyone staying at the hotel.

Just a shame about no parking , or what very little there is , its always full . Makes dropping off and picking up a bit awkward. But you can't have everything I suppose. Lovely hotel 😍👍PS , normally the parking wouldn't be too much of an issue with usual overnight baggage people normally bring , and not too far from Mount Pleasant parking , BUT we were part of a wedding party and I was helping deliver the bride to and from the hotel . You can imagine how much stuff we had in the car !! Dodging the traffic wardens , trying not to drop the cake and dress !! 🤣

Had a great stay at Hope Street Hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming from the get-go. We got a room that was on two levels, and the design was well thought out. The spa facilities were top-notch, a real treat. The only gripe is about parking; the closest place to leave your car is a 7-minute walk away, which was pretty annoying. But still giving it a 5/5 because the hotel itself is good. Would recommend despite the parking hassle.

From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, this was a fantastic experience. The warmth of the staff, the comfort of the room, the beauty of the hotel and location.. I can't imagine there's a better place to stay in Liverpool than this. The Hope Street set the stage for what was a memorable, enjoyable stay in Liverpool, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone! Looking forward to visiting again. Special shout out to Damien who despite being an Everton fan made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Thanks so much!

  • 3/5 Steve S. 6 months ago on Google
A bit of a mixed bag. The service was either friendly and efficient (delivery of coffee pods to the room) or just plain rude (breakfast). The breakfast was an odd affaire indeed - the hot items were buffet style but behind a counter where a rather rude individual served the items up. They served no purpose at all and I'd rather be able to plate my own food. For this reason and the fact they offer no parking validation (and do not offer their own parking) I would not willingly return. The only positive from my point of view was the bed - it was large and comfortable.

  • 1/5 Sophie L. 7 months ago on Google
Sadly not the experience we were hoping for. We arrived at the hotel to check in and we were advised the Spa was fully booked for the arrival and departure days. We were advised that we should have had a call a few days prior to arriving to book in for treatments and the spa. We did receive a call but we’re not advised we should have booked into the spa at that point. It was a confirmation call of our arrival. We were originally planning to go out in Liverpool one day and spend our departure day at the spa. Sadly this didn’t happen. We were also woken up by the night porter at 0510 by him knocking on our door to see if we could be a noise he could hear???? I mean really at 0510!! It was a lovely hotel and the breakfast was very good as well. Had we not have had this experience this time we definitely go back as it really was a nice hotel.

  • 5/5 Angela P. 2 years ago on Google
Hipster chic with all the creature comforts and 5* service Cannot fault this hotel. Our room was splendid: Really big bed (had to text 'is nibs for a hug!) and high thread count bedlinen. Every detail covered - from the exposed wood/brick walls, super smooth wooden floors and groovy lighting to the coir carpets, lack of embellishment and fresh, crisp white walls. We had a desk with a lovely view over the Liverpool Philharmonic. Cathedrals at both ends of the street. The bathroom luxurious. Deep bath, twin power shower/wet room, trendy basin - all Hansgrohe at its finest. And Papillon across the street although I had the finest pizza in 1931. Highly recommended.

A brilliant hotel just on the very edge of the city centre. Some great places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk in any direction. Rooms are stunning and packed with luxury touches. The bath was a huge hit as was the TV with lots of films and TV on demand Breakfast buffet looked small but there was lots of variety and choice. The bacon is very tasty and the eggs are cooked perfectly. Warming the pastries on request.

Amazing location, with a huge variety of bars, restaurants and cafes nearby. Short walk to the city centre and train stations. Clean, spacious and comfy room. Amazing shower and big bath. Lovely little touch to provide chocolates and a message for our anniversary.

Absolutely amazing hotel! I've stayed here twice now and you absolutely cannot fault it. The rooms are amazing, the staff are too notch and make sure everything is perfect for you. A special mention to Hannah on the front desk, nothing was too much trouble and she did everthing possible to make our stay a first class experience. I won't be staying anywhere else on my next trip as this place won't be beaten.

The purpose of the visit was primarily an opportunity for my friends and I to get together , hence a Spa and afternoon tea was a great combination. We all very much enjoyed the facilities and 'Kelly' deserves a particular mention for the most exquisite 'drift away' massage experience . Thank you .

Lovely modern hotel with friendly staff in a good location. Bed was huge and very comfortable, large bath, air con was quiet and powerful, and the breakfast was great. Loses one star due to a few issues: no room service menu or info pack in the room, room was smaller that I thought it would be, some towels and refreshments not restocked by the maid, spa closed, ordered a taxi for the station which never arrived and staff were too preoccupied by a wedding to help. Overall, however, I would recommend this hotel, especially when the spa has reopened.

I've stayed here many times. Always excellent. Smashing staff, great public spaces, bedrooms very well equipped and comfortable. Spotlessly clean. A really great bar as well plus two restaurants. Very convenient for the Philharmonic and city centre.

Hope Street Hotel never fails to deliver a 5star stay. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Restaurant is lovely. The rooms are wonderful… lovely showers, comfy beds and crisp bedding. This is my favourite hotel & i stay in loads of hotels. The Spa has just enhanced the staying experience

The cooking is invariably of a very high standard complemented by excellent service. There is a good selection of wines although many of them are at the high end of the price range. Nevertheless worth visiting. The atmosphere is vibrant and the range of cocktails available at the bar is impressive.

  • 5/5 Linda H. 2 years ago on Google
Stayed at this gorgeous hotel as we were going to a concert at the Philharmonic which is just across the road, so the ideal place to stay if you’re attending an event there. Very modern and plush. Beautiful varnished light wood floors and such a relaxing atmosphere. The young girl on reception was very helpful and friendly and welcoming and our room was gorgeous, very spacious and modern. Due to Covid we had to move this hotel date three times but the customer service staff were just amazing and so helpful and accommodating which took the stress and worry away. Thanks to them all. One important thing I did notice was how quiet it was. We couldn’t hear any noise from other rooms so the walls must be very thick, So had a really good night sleep. Will definitely stay there again and thoroughly enjoyed our overnight visit.

The hotel is in a beautiful building and the room itself was gorgeous. Unfortunately there was a mix of things small and big that really left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Upon checking in I was told the spa would be closed during the stay. I would have likely looked at booking some time elsewhere if I had been told ahead of time, but maybe it was an unplanned closure. The major issue was related to a wedding held there on a Monday night. The music permeated my room and was so loud it shook the walls. I assumed it was a party in the room next to or above mine, not a wedding 2 floors away. I went down to the desk around 23:30 and asked if there were any earplugs available for purchase (no), but was told the music would be stopping any minute. This was not the case, as the music kept me up past 1. I was told they’d take my room number down and let the morning staff know who was affected, but nothing seemed to come from that. With the lack of care given to their guests I don’t think I’d stay again. If you’re considering it, I’d make sure to call ahead to see what of their advertised services are available, and if they’re hosting any weddings during your stay.

An absolutely amazing stay at Hope Street Hotel!! It is in such a convenient location as it isn’t too far from city centre. The spa facilities are just incredible! I came here for my birthday with my boyfriend and we had the most relaxing morning. Definitely recommend, even just for the spa!

Have stayed here several times now. This hotel is beautifully situated between the city's cathedrals, opposite the Philharmonic Hall music venue and a 5 min walk from the Everyman theatre. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean with original design features such as natural brick and wooden floors. The beds are very comfortable with all white, high quality linens & bathrobes. The bathrooms include bath and shower, great products and lots of large towels. The staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel it ticks all the boxes.

Perfectly located for Liverpool Philharmonic Hall concerts, literally just across the road. We had a lovely stay in the hotel. The bedroom was spacious, well equipped and warm with a lovely king sized bed, which ensured a good nights sleep. The room was clean, with coffee, tea and biscuits provided. The bathroom had a large bath and walk in shower with toiletries provided, which were topped up each day. We had food and drink in ‘The Carriage Works’, which was part of the hotel, and service and quality were both good. We did experience some noise at times, perhaps because our room was close to the stairs and all the floors in the hotel are bare wood, but it wasn’t a real problem. Parking in the Liverpool Philharmonic Car Park was expensive, but it was convenient. It was such a treat to be able to just cross the road for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choirs Spirit of Christmas concert. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel, decorated to a minimalist taste which made our stay feel very relaxed and clean. Staff were helpful and lovely and let me use their on site private office space so I could have a last minute zoom call. However the public work/chill out areas are also very beautiful and welcoming. Room was spacious and spotless. Loved the rainfall shower and separate bath. Will definitely be returning and using the spa facilities next time, we looked down at the people using the outdoor pool and felt green with envy.

A great stay in a lovely friendly hotel. We arrived early, around 11.30am and staff were happy to store our cases while we explored the city. We later returned and checked in quickly. I was watching a gig at the Philharmonic Hall opposite, happily my room here had an insane view of the venue and made for a great interval bolt hold for loo and bar. Had a good meal at their London Carriage Works restaurant. Venue is very smart and staff attentive. Room itself was clean and had a rain wetroom style shower and separate bath

Stayed on the top floor in a Deluxe King Room. Hotel itself was nice, staff friendly, room was quite small even though it was the upgraded room. Good view, bathroom was definitely the best part, very clean, great shower! I would say it’s slightly overpriced for what it was compared to other hotels in Liverpool, location so good, some nice spots around the hotel. Visit Duke Street Market nearby if you get a chance.

Great location for our 2 night stay. Very friendly staff on reception and behind the bar. Room and bathroom were great - my only recommendation would be an extra mirror in the bedroom so the person not in the bathroom can access a mirror to get ready. Will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic staff, beautiful hotel, amazing value. We were on a family trip for a wedding and stayed here for five nights. The whole place is perfect, from the helpful and accommodating staff to the modern building. The 1931 restaurant might have been the star of the week, helping us with a huge stroller and three kids from the night we showed up to our last pint. Don’t look anywhere else.
