Nice local pub. Good prices but then again I'm not used to North UK drink prices..incredibly different North / South divide still.

EDMONTON, CANADA - I missThe Palatine, which we left a month ago tomorrow... My friend and I stayed there for 6 nights. I don't think I've ever felt more welcome - and included - in a hotel in all my years of travel. Basic but clean and homey. The staff was extremely helpful with our daily visits to town. First night there, a few of the bar's regulars "adopted" us and made us feel very welcome. - The Palatine is well situated: trafic is minimal compared to downtown...which is "20-some minutes" away by bus (double-deckers 'RULE', man... ;) - I would have loved to know about this establishment in 2011: 'would have stayed there for sure. When I go back, I have a very familiar place to stay in. Cheers! :)

I will always stop in for a pint when I'm in the area. Cheers to "the pally". Great for the games and friendly locals and attentive bar staff. Perfectly managed for many many years. Rooms to rent upstairs! There is an excellent selection of cold drinks from beer to bitter ale and cider, the spirits are poured and enjoyed with care and commitment to the community well being. I've had a few pints with my dearly departed Grandad here and that is a memory I cherish. The white building is a landmark of Garston and has served the best to the locals and will continue to do so. I couldn't ask for more.

What a lovely hotel and staff! They were very hospitable, always telling us about the events that were going on, how everything worked (first time in England!), and they even gave us adapters to keep for our appliances! Truly sweet people, loved the experience. Nice comfy bed and very close to the bus station - very convenient! Just note that if you are out past a certain hour, you'll have to ring the doorbell to be let in (to avoid drunkards losing the keys, I think).

What a little gem this place turned out to be. After booking a different accommodation which was total disgusting and unfit to humans we managed to stay at this wonderful little hotel. The hosts and staff were welcoming and friendly. We had a family room even though there just 2 of us which was massive, clean and modern, we shared a bathroom which was opposite, again this was spacious and clean with 2 toilets and 2 showers. It had its own bar which was well stocked and good prices. It’s a couple of miles from the city centre but within just a short walk you can get multiple buses or a train to the city. Both cooked and continental breakfasts are available of which you can help yourself with tea/coffee and juices. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Liverpool.

What can I say? 18 of us descended on The Palatine for a hen party, Ellen was a fantastic host, very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were spotless and airy and the communal kitchen was a Godsend for us early risers, just like being at home. The bacon butties were delicious, thanks Ellen!! Luckily we had the place to ourselves because we were not the quietest of hen parties nonetheless, Ellen, the staff and the locals were brilliant and joined in with the laughs. Even at 4am when some of the party strolled in, there was food and drinks available and served with a smile! All in all, if you are looking for a home from home experience, with fantastic staff then The Palatine is perfect. Thank you Ellen and staff for your wonderful hospitality! :)

My brother and I popped into this pub for a quiet drink Sunday 11th March 2018 and was totally shocked at the attitude of the woman behind the bar (there was some game of Bingo going on) i would say we were quiet and not rowdy /loud as I said a quiet drink I was asking my brother what he wanted to drink and then this voice shouted at us to be quiet (shut up)more concerned with the game of Bingo (this is not a social club it is a pub) or maybe it doesn't know what it is. If she would have approached us and explained in a different manner, instead of in an aggressive way, we would have. We just decided to leave and would not enter this establishment again !

Staying here tonight people,,first class for a B&B very close to John Lennon Airport Liverpool, spotlessly clean throughout, the staff are so very polite and helpful,if they ain't serving or making conversation they simply 'find a job to do' I.e clean ,tidy, general walk round' and ask if all is ok. Find me a room so close to an International Airport in a Major City for less than Β£40.00 for a double en suite and I will eat my words. Such a refreshing change I assure you. Give 'The Palatine Hotel,No 1 Island Road, Garston,L19 a try,you will not be disappointed trust me. SPOTLESSLY CLEAN.
