It’s a lovely hidden gem if you like a countryside setting with tractors passing often. The layout and decor of the room was rather luxurious, It’s basically the kind of bedroom most of us wished we had to wake up in every morning. The downside was that I noticed dust hanging from the spotlights as well as webs and spiders in the bathroom corners. Unfortunately, I also found a dirty facecloth in the bedside table. So the cleaning can be slightly improved on and I would have liked it more if the TV had a bigger screen. I’d still like to visit again and try the room with a balcony next time.

Excellent hotel, with comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, fantastic breakfast, and lashings of hot water, the new owners Janet & Steve have done an amazing job. Thank you for everything, we'll be back.

We stayed in the Forge which is the only dog-friendly room on site. This was perfect as it has a hard-wearing stone floor and lovely soft rug for playtime and naps. A cooked or continental breakfast is provided as part of your stay. Continental is usually only served if you are staying with a dog but due to the close proximity to the kitchen, a cooked breakfast was delivered to our room with an extra meaty treat for our four-legged friend. Access to the cosy lounge is available 24/7 through use of a smart lock by the entrance. Here, you have full use of the impressive coffee machine with pastries and syrups. Ideal location for travelling to the beaches at Formby or Crosby with them being 20 minutes away by car. Free parking is available on site. Such welcoming hosts means we will definitely be returning 😁

Friendly and welcoming accommodation. We had a good night's sleep in a massive queen size bed with a lovely ensuite, to top it off the breakfast was outstanding, can't wait to head to this part of the country to here again.

I stayed here with a group of family and friends to celebrate my sisters hen do and we had the most amazing time. Janet was so accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Each room has an en-suite which is perfect and the beds are SO comfy. Breakfast the next morning was also delicious and freshly cooked by Janet and her daughter. The location is perfect as it’s really peaceful yet only a 10 minute drive into ormskirk. We couldn’t have stayed in a more perfect place, thankyou for having us!

I had an excellent experience with my 2 nights stay. The managers were very committed and ensureed I was comfortable including driving me to my destinations at no extra cost. The environment was friendly, calm and clean. The room I stayed was appreciably large, clean and always well prepared. Highly recommended. Henry

We hired Birches Brow overnight for a family gathering for my daughter’s 1st birthday. In total 16 adults stayed along with 2 children. The venue was absolutely perfect, we each had our own fabulous room, which was spotless, spacious and comfortable. The building itself is a stunning old farmhouse with plenty of character, surrounded by idyllic farmland and countryside. We had a wonderful time, and the large communal room, the ‘Elm room’ held all of us for a really happy occasion - we had the wood burning stove going which added to the luxurious coziness. The rijo 42 coffee machine was an absolute hit too, with complementary refills of all kinds of coffee and syrups. We would wholeheartedly recommend Birches Brow and will definitely be returning for future celebrations.

Strictly speaking, superficially all seemed well, but we found it impersonal. It was also quite cold, 13degrees inside.....no heating...too mean? so, have a shower and freeze. Have a bath and freeze... And for £195 for ONE night. Come on!

What a fantastic and First Class hotel. We stayed in the Mulberry Room for 6 nights. We had a beautiful view of Liverpool city centre in the far distance and the lights at night were beautiful. The room was extremely clean and the bed was even more comfortable than the one we have at home! Breakfast was magnificent and delivered to your door at a time you choose (between 7:30am - 9:30am). Birches Brow puts most hotels to shame with their beautiful furnishings and uniqueness. We will definitely stay here again during our next trip to England. Thank you Sue for a truly enjoyable stay.

Very nice little hotel with spacious rooms, modern bathrooms with large bath and shower. They bring breakfast to your room, so there is no restaurant available. The breakfast choices are some croissants, fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, toasts, orange juice, etc. You get everything in a picnic basket at a chosen time. I wish there would be some tables and chairs outside to enjoy a glass of wine when the weather is nice. Location is quite remote, so it may not appeal to everybody but we liked it this way.

It's not often that places pass your expectations. We stayed for one night in August 2018 and I loved it. Even from the moment we drove in to the carpark I thought it was going to be good, because it was so pristine! Self check-in was a breeze. The room was fantastic, bed very comfy, ensuite brilliant, with an awesome shower. There was everything you could want and a bit more. The breakfast hamper was lovely. I came away feeling like I'd had a luxury experience. I look forward to staying again. Thank you.
