So it was nice yet just lacking in so many ways. Don’t get me wrong here, it’s cheap and cheerful and I would go back, just not in a hurry! My picture is of a mixed grill, they didn’t have a few of the cuts of meat so they replaced them with more chicken breasts. Like I say it was nice food, but three on one plate?? We stayed in the attached hotel and found breakfast was exactly the same, one day a meal came with toast, the next it came with a hash brown but no toast? We ordered different meals and on day one three extra items yet on day two the bill was identical? The service was great place ok, but the food a lucky dip as to what you’d get. The hotel again was nice enough and very cheap so we weren’t expecting the world. It was clean enough and a good bed/ nights sleep. However the roof plaster was pealing off and the bathroom ceiling had mold on it. You have to hold the tap whilst you turn it as it wasn’t secure but it was very cheap so… Like I say, I probably would go back for food, next time we’ll stay round the corner.

After trying a range of the items on the menu, from the sandwiches, big plate specials and general breakfasts, I can honestly say that I am pleasantly impressed with the food. Staff wise, on Saturdays have always been very welcoming and warm. Great customer service all around. Highly recommend.

Excellent hotel clean and tidy...large restaurant (Green King/hungry horse) large free car park. Shame the television was rubbish...Saturday night no “Quest” along side many other freeview channels.

We have been going to the Oak for years, and it has always been a nice place to go with friendly staff. We went more recently with the family, and honestly, it was so good!! The food came so quickly, and it was awesome! Hot and fresh and very tasty. I had the crown of burgers as I could decide what I wanted, and it didn't disappoint. My mum, who can be very fussy with her food, had the Korean chicken burger, and she cleared her plate. (A rarity for her) A big thanks to all the staff and chefs they work so hard.

Very disappointed so the candy mania has gone from the first two photos into a tub of frozen ice cream with two blobs of cream on top and a twix snapped in half how is that the same. For the same price. Which we had to wait 15mins for and it had just been taken out of the freezer and handed to us.

I just wanted to give recognition to all of the staff I encountered when visiting the Royal Oak this evening. I interacted with 6 different staff, from finding a table, ordering food, receiving mains and later deserts and having the table cleared soon after finishing. Everyone was great, even though they had clearly had a busy day. Well done guys and thank you for making my fathers day more special 👍🏻😁

A nice friendly family pub serving clean beer and decent food. There's a small indoor soft play that's free for the kids and an outdoor park in the summer. Prices are fair, parking is free

Basic rooms but for the right price. Staff in the pub for evening meal are amazing and went well out of their way to accommodate to our needs. Food portions are big, tasty and well worth the money.

So out of all the hungry horse pubs we go to this always seems to be the best one, when the food comes it's like they do a little bit more / put a bit more effort into it and chips ( with Korean burger ) come with flavouring on them but only here.!! Like the chef is actually bothered to make the food taste nice 👍🏼

Kelly was very friendly and helpful. Food was Ok, just a basic breakfast not much flavour. Hot chocolate watery. Hangover Mac and cheese had a spicy kick to it. Kids loved the toy machines and my daughter won on the grabber! Bring plenty of pound coins for the kids.

Only came in for a breakfast because my car was having its exhaust done. I’m glad I did. Service was excellent. The staff were bubbly and friendly and made me feel very welcome. The breakfast was great too. Yorkshire tea!!!! I will definitely come back. I’d already started the breakfast on the photo, sorry.😁

We only went for a quick Hungry Horse lunch and actually we were pleasantly surprised. Food was nice, service was quick, staff were friendly and helpful and prices very reasonable. Couldn't fault anything really. The table in the booth we were in could have done with a fresh coat of varnish...but that was the only improvement I could think of really....not much is it?

Ordered chicken was raw staff not really bothered about serving raw food from the attitude of sometimes it happens. The food is frozen and sometimes gets stuck together well it's chicken and if you were out for a meal not sure you would be very happy about eating raw food ⭐

Main course food was nice but it came quicker than the desert which in the end was really nice. Table's are dirty asked serveral times but they got there in the end as a new staff member came into work and managed to do it straight away and sort my problems out which was really nice but except from that the staff's attitude and politeness where excellent which was really nice would definitely come here again 😁

Went last Saturday 1st July with my partner and 2 grandchildren age 8 and 2, it was a little busy but not choker block. I found the tables where disgustingly filthy (even tho the lady had just wiped them down) the said lady was also throwing hight chairs around as though she was in a bad mood (not good in a children's area around children). The food was nothing special at all and not very hot, we waited 25 minutes for deserts and when they did come out they was 2 whole tubs of ice cream (one for each child) with whipped cream all over it and chocolate bar jabbed into it. They clearly couldn't be bothered to scoop out the ice cream and present the desert in a desert glass as it should have been 🙄 The floor was also dirty and covered in dropped food from previous customers at our table, the place has gone right down no care and attention is taken in any way. I won't be taking my family back here and I think it needs a visit from environmental health.

The kids love going here to eat and play, relaxed atmosphere very family friendly, food is usually spot on and they cook their steaks just how you order them 👍

I had a quick pub meal here after a business meeting in Bromborough. The service was truly excellent - quick and friendly. The prices were a bit on the high side, but everywhere seems to be like this these days. I'd definitely return of I'm in the area.

Nice pub good service and clean inside , staff are nice and polite. We had large Sunday roasts, and they were huge ! , few good IPA's on tap so a winner for me .

The location was perfect. Staff were mostly great, but the room was awful, mould all over bathroom ceiling, and a tap that didn't appear to completely turn off

Visited the Royal Oak tonight (26.03.2023). Upon arrival children’s play area outside was chained shut. Go inside and take a seat in the children’s part and only 3 machines were on and a sign to say play area indoors was closed. Asked staff why to be told health and safety a child had got his head caught on Friday just gone in a while in the netting. Then when someone else asked they said a child got their leg stuck in the whole in the netting. service was quick at till but had to be served one till for food one for drinks. Ordered Sunday dinners 2 adult 2 children. Adults came with extra piece of boiled chicken breast and burnt stuffing extra 2 frozen potatoes. Never tasted nothing like it disgusting left half of our meal kids ate Yorkshire puddings. Was no beef left at 5pm. Won’t be visiting again. Have came here a lot of times but after todays visit put me off wouldn’t mind travel half hour to come as it’s brilliant for the children normally.

1st visit here today, waited 5 minutes for somebody to tell me I was at the wrong till to order food. Waited another 7 minutes before going to look for somebody to take our order. Foreign lady behind bar was too busy messing with her hair very unhygenic. Food service very nice and friendly and quite quick. Not impressed with staff

The food was served quickly and was fresh. We sat outside because we had the dog with us. Staff were very friendly and dogs are allowed inside. Big car park for the pub and hotel. Plenty of stuff going on in the evenings, quiz, disco, karaoke etc.

Went last night for a birthday meal, tables and seats were dirty. Food wasn’t amazing, waited over an hour for desserts had to ask the lad serving who seemed like he couldn’t be bothered at all. Whole place needs a good clean, very grotty. Won’t be back

The Royal Oak was perfect for my 2 night stay. My friend lives in Bromborough and is a short drive to get into to the centre of Liverpool. Train access is also easy. The staff at the Hotel/Bar are fantastic and really friendly. The room I had was immaculately clean despite perhaps being slightly dated was very comfortable and was the perfect retreat for my stay. Many Thanks.

Went here for family lunch a week ago. Good choice on menu, but i wasn't impressed with the steak pie i opted for. The meat was awful!! Apart from the fact that there were only 3 small pieces in a decent sized pie, i couldn't eat it. It was fatty & chewy & i felt it was made with really cheap ingredients. To be fair, the sweets were very nice & a good portion size. Mum had a chicken meal & enjoyed it & the chicken was well cooked. The place looks a bit shabby & definitely needs a lick of paint.

A bit of a mixed feelings review on this place. But overall I wont be visiting again The serving staff were very good, I can't fault any of them. The food was OK at best, the steak and gammon was too fatty by far but the rest was ok. The biggest negative for me, especially in the current covid crisis was the cleanliness. Old food bits on the chairs, sticky tables and filthy toilet facilities. It's not like the place was busy, it wouldn't take much to check them now and then. They had an inspection schedule in there but it hadn't been used at all that day and it showed.

I was surprisingly impressed by this pub. The food (roast beef, well cooked veg & Yorkshire pudding) was tasty, and decent value for money. With great service & a pleasant atmosphere, it all made for a decidedly enjoyable lunch.

Came in for some food and got a great deal on the big plates. They have offers for food everyweek and if you download the sports app while you're there then you can claim a free drink and 10% off on drinks. When we sat down we had our own personal television with the match playing. This place does great deals and the food quality and drink quality was top notch. Lastly the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would fully recommend going with friends or with family. Will definitely be visiting again very soon

Overall great visit. Like other busy pub facilities can sometimes be a little wait for food. Good size servings with friendly staff. I have read the comments on reviews and I suggest you give this pub a visit, much improved as Manager says.

Booked a table in advance. Staff were friendly enough. Food was really good for pub grub. I had a smothered steak was really good value for money. The atomic wings are a delicious starter. Beer reasonably priced. A positive experience

The place looks shabby and in need of a good clean, at best the food was mediocre. I won't go there again.
