Quite busy so service to our large group was slightly slow. Food was great, menu not as broad as I remember it previously. But no complaints. Recommend.

Great place for a summers evening drink or 2 sat outside on one of many of the tables out side bar was not in action but I've heard that's good when they have singers on wasn't 2 impressed with toilets or bar area toilets had minty damp smell and barcwas dark and tatty cellophane all over one of pubs for some reason

Very disappointed, ordered food, waiting an hour and then got told sorry your order has not been processed, issue with the till! Mistakes happen but they really did not care and did not even say sorry just β€œo you can have your money back” great but does not really help and the other 2 rounds of drinks we bought why waiting! 1 round of drinks was even on the food order bill they refunded but no refund was offered for the drinks, so after an hour we ended up leaving. Used to be a great place and the location is lovely. Shame

Been to this place a few times, but last visit was below standard. Quality of food was bad, and although one meal was not charged for, we received no real apology, and one of us went without a main meal. Staff appear to be a little unhelpful and not really interested. Menu not that good, that's even if they have the food available on the day. I'm afraid we won't be returning. I don't normally leave negative reviews, this is more for feedback for the venue, I hope you take notice

Food was lovely, staff were very good, they were very patient with a large elderly group that wanted to pay individually.

Waited an absolute age for our food to arrive after ordering ours first, the rest of our party got their food and had finished eating while we still waited. I wouldn't rave about the food either, the fish I had , had more batter than fish. Wasn't cheap.

Not bad but plenty of room for improvement, we took the kids for Sunday lunch and pizzas only to be told no pizzas today not sure why, and had to ask several times for our drinks after the starters had arrived.

Stayed over after a day of shopping at Cheshire Oaks, Rooms were large, clean and warm. Evening meal was excellent , breakfast was good and cooked to order. The best thing was the excellent staff who couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We were the only guests, so it would have been nice to have been put in a room with a view, but our room was lovely. Everything was good but it would have been better with Wi-Fi! Service was good too.

Staff great. Food was OK to good. Standard 'pub' selection of food/ drinks. Far better than a wetherspoons but not at restaurant level.

Stayed for one night here & the place was exceptionally lovely. Live music on the evening was an added bonus. Evening meal was superb, the sea bass was cooked perfectly. Proper English fry in the morning πŸ‘Œroom was very clean & comfortable & the staff extremely welcoming & helpful. I would highly recommend a stay here or if not a stay then definitely a meal & and a drink. Most important of all it’s dog friendly.

Had a bad experience tonight at this normally very good local pub, was met in the car park by an upturned broken wine glass which i reported and found was still there when leaving, ordered the Β£16 Wagyu burger and the best way i can describe it is imagine a burnt drunken barbeque burger that you find the next day! Yeah it was one of the worst burgers ive ever tried to eat. Very understaffed and the bar man was practically running the whole place on his own

Great place. Ample parking. Good food (albeit a light lunch). Beer garden and kids play area.

This hotel is a lovely hidden gem! We had the best stay, the room was lovely and the bed was comfy. Food was delicious and the price was absolutely spot on. We met one of the owners and she was a delight and her adorable pooch. Would definitely recommend.

What a wonderful B&B. Fantastic hosts, clean, modern, welcoming. Without a doubt would book again when in the area.

The meal was lovely, the service charge was already on the bill which made us feel awkward by taking it off rather than giving out own tip, we were watched constantly by the staff which was unerving

Myself and my husband went to pollards for the first time in a while yesterday. I asked the lady behind the bar if we could bring the dog in and if so where could we sit. I was told we could and to sit in the conservatory wherever there was a spare table. Shortly after this a very rude man came over. Have you booked this table? I explained that we had been told we could sit there. By who? I pointed to the lady behind the bar and he responded she is new and needs training. There was no apology and his manner and customer service was awful. We won't be going back again .

Called in the Pollard's for a couple of drinks not busy but a few tables were occupied. The staff were more interested in talking to eachother around the till than conversing with the customers. Atmosphere was awful we felt unwelcome and judged. On leaving we said thank you and good night this gesture of goodwill was met with looks of distain. Will not be returning.

We were there for 2 hours and waited a very long time for our main course ordered drinks that never arrived and puddings that had to be cancelled as we couldn't wait any longer. We won't be returning or recommending anyone to go

Would give the pub another go as might of just been an off day but definitely didn't live up to expectations πŸ˜” Popped in for a quick drink on the way back after seeing it as we passed and thought the pub looked lovely. The pub itself is lovely but the service was unfortunately lacking. Staff were pleasant but must of been very understaffed despite only a few patrons. We waited a while for anyone to seat us then watched as people who arrived after were served and other tables got drinks before we did even though ordered before them. 25/30 mins after first arriving we got our drinks order, though it was incorrect and we'd be charged for extra drinks so needed to get a refund.

Great traditional country pub. The pay area and outdoor space makes pollards great for families and groups. The staff are friendly and helpful. Food and drink is always good quality. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

Not normally one to complain, however... having booked to celebrate 42 yrs anniversary on arrival were put at a table at the side of the main thoroughfare constantly passed by staff, customers going to and from the bar and toilets, at one point the manager standing talking within a foot of us talking to customer scratching his backside!! The food was nothing special "pub grub" is the best description, waited for over half an hour for dessert, Eton mess served in a tall slim glass, and a soup spoon to eat with??? The manager did deduct the cost of desserts from the price blaming a " busy time" in the kitchen... Sorry but won't be going again

Pollards Inn was good value for money. Hotels in the area are generally much more expensive. It is situated in a good spot, not far from the main road from Chester to Hoylake. It is set in the middle of a really nice little village with some nice easy short walks to exercise off your breakfast at the Inn. Breakfast was good. A choice of cereals, juice, coffee or tea and a full English. Served in the conservatory. Nice to eat with a garden view. Decor of the pub nice. The rooms were comfortable. I wouldn't go as far as saying the rooms were the height of luxury, but good enough. Good for a night or two's stay. The bed was comfortable. The floor was very creaky, but it's an old building I guess. The heating was easily altered by changing the radiator thermostats. Apart from breakfast, we didn't eat at the hotel, but it looks like it might have been nice. We didn't suffer with noise from the pub at all. The pub appears to be dog friendly and there was a dog bed in the room despite not having a dog. I think it would be a nice touch to get rid of this for people without dogs. It was a bit weird. Big car park. We couldn't get the key to work in the front door of the pub the night we stayed, but luckily there was still someone still on site who answered the door and let us in.

Really helpful staff, lovely food. Had a lovely evening here for works meal/night out only reason I have not given 5 stars is due to a 10:30 bar on a Saturday! (I know right) but shows it's a great place when you don't want to leave :)

πŸ‘πŸ‘ A great local pub and an asset to the village. You'll receive a warm welcome from the owner and the food is excellent too. The first time we visited, I went for the Dalmatian style beef Goulash. The flavours were stunning and the meat was incredibly tender. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We've been through...
