If you see some glasses on your door handle it’s me! Really at the end with specsavers now after coming here for the last 16years. My self I’m on the contract lense scheme and I’ve had nothing but trouble over the years the only staff that have been good with me is Lisa and Kelly, but Kelly left for a better job. Honestly I don’t blame her. Most of your staff now ain’t even trained and have very poor customer service skills! But the main reason for this review is because of my son’s experience so far. He is still under the hospital as he hasn’t got the best eye sight and also has a squint whilst the glasses are trying to correct this, you also have specsavers putting the lenses in the wrong sides. Yes you heard that right they put the left lense 4.5 in the right and right lense 6.5 in the left. Unfortunately he had to wait two week for a replacement free off charge obviously but the only thing we got was an apology! That’s not good enough. The hospital was very shocked when checking the glasses and discovered this and also had a very arrogant person on the phone when explaining what the issue was to specsavers and the member off staff from specsavers said to the optometrist at the hospital what do you want us to do about it. The optometrist said we’ll rectifying them would be a good start as this. she was going to be reporting this her self. If this isn’t bad then what it? My son has accidentally broken his frame last Tuesday and needs the lenses putting into a new frame. My partner too him in specsavers Trinity sainsburys last Wednesday and was told that they didn’t have it in stock and will order it bearing in mind he has an hospital appointment on Monday at 9:20am. Today I decided to take him to the specsavers in Bolton town center to see if they had the frame. Understandably I left it to last minute but I tried ring the store at 5:45pm around 6 time and every time I was being hung up on. I was traveling to store, yes I was late but I arrived there for bang on 6pm and the store was completely locked up, in darkness and alarm was set. Im not being funny but you don’t shut till 6pm today the store definitely shut earlier than the official closing time. In the retail industry the closing time is when the last customer enters the store the customers should always be seen to regardless and if it take them to 6:30pn so be it, they shouldn’t turn people away or close the store early. We will never be returning again and will find another opticians. Please remove me from the contact lense scheme and refund me any money owed will be around £66. Thanks Chris

I had a poor experience. I attended with my friend who was treated terribly. After explaining that she would require somebody maskless, as she has a phobia of people wearing masks, the woman on the counter was very short with her, announced the issue at the top of her voice and then told my friend it wouldn't be possible to accommodate my friends issue.

Ive not visited an optician in over 20 years but i had an issue with my left eye which worried me as my father had glaucoma. They saw me the same day & after a thorough examination reassured me there was nothing to worry about. Very efficient service, highly recommended.

Everyone else was lovely besides a girl named ifra. She was very rude when confronting her about our appointment times as she checked us in and instead of apologising she gaslit me into thinking it was my fault. Ifra is it not your job to confirm the appointment times instead of blaming it on everything else? Even though we receive text confirmation you are the one who changed the phone number on the system hence why we didn’t get a text? Please be more professional next time.

Contact lens check was great and sorted quickly. Tried their eye test for the first time and wow, waited longer than the test itself (Never had a test where it took 1 minute for some pics of your eyes by a different staff member and then proceeded with another for the check which took around 5 minutes). For the price you pay I'd expect some decent care. Both times I waited past the appointment time. It says the appointment could take up to an hour, the appointment itself was done within 5-10 minutes, you're just sat around for the other 50 minutes. Then the woman proceeds to tell me I have 20/20 vision currently with my glasses but my prescriptions changed (she said not by much but it was) and new glasses will make it less blurry. I didn't realise 20/20 vision meant you had bad eyesight. Went up and the glasses are just rancid. I don't particularly wear glasses as I prefer contacts. Decided on a cheap pair as it was basic enough. Waited around 5 more minutes for a guy to come over and then it came to £84 as I needed thinner lenses now apparently. I didn't like any glasses and said this and he just looked at me so I bought them. Upon looking at my prescription my whole eyes have changed, supposedly within 3 months my entire axis, sphere etc. are different to those checked with the other specialist. Went in for my glasses and just asked for a refund and cancelled my subscription for my lenses as you can get cheaper lenses else where. Since then I've had around 2 -3 emails (within the week) from them which I ignored and eventually unsubscribed from. I filled in a review they sent and gave my honest opinion and at 8:35 the next morning or 2 had a phonecall saying it was about it. Just put the phone down as at this point this is just harassment. I'd heard bad stuff from Specsavers but didn't think they'd be true. The staff were generally fine but your waiting times and actual experience isn't good and quality of care is poor alongside the ugly glasses you're made to buy. Take a second opinion and buy your stuff online. Wish the guy selling me the glasses would've just said "if you're unsure wait and just pay for your test." but of course that wouldn't happen.

Went into town specsavers today me and the mrs asking for two for one offer, which we had been advised about, seen by this gentleman who checked our entitlement and told us to go and choose glasses and someone will come to see you, after a while this ladies came and said come and let's check, and she said you gone over hundred days after your collection date, when I got home I check and not the case, next time perhaps I will take my family to vision express, as seems people here are maybe concerned with commission, not happy Second class service.

The staff here were very friendly, specifically Jane, Zach and Jack who helped me to pick out frames and were patient and professional. Was not rushed and any questions I had were answered and dealt with well.

Honestly. Don't ever go to this opticians. I've just been given a false prescription by accident!!! Yesterday, I paid for an eye test (which was extremely rushed) and was told that my prescription had not changed from my last eye test. I was surprised as I felt my eye sight had deteriorated and that is why I had booked for an earlier one within the two year cycle. I decided not to get any new glasses as my prescription was "the same", but when I looked at the prescription card that she had given me, it was very different to the one I had been given last time. If I had gone with this I would have been wearing the completely wrong glasses. Shocking!!! I was told a manager would call me back regarding this, but never received a call. I called them myself and spoke to a manager who said that she would speak with the person who had given me the eye test and then call me back the day after. She told me that the person had probably "just clicked the wrong button". But, yet again, no phone call back from the manager. I wanted to deal with this "in store" but given the fact that they obviously don't find this sort of situation serious, I will be taking my compliant further. In the meantime, I will be advising everyone I can to keep well away from this store! To think I could have been wearing glasses that were the wrong prescription, and that the managers don't even care, concerns me a great deal! 😳😳😳

I would like to share my experience here. Today, I had an appointment in the afternoon for a test with an eye doctor, at first I was met by a girl without a smile, taking all the data from me, I asked to show me the toilet before the examination, I had to find the toilet with difficulty, still helpfully asking three more people who work in this team, there was a sign on the toilet door "do not enter this room for maintenance" finally getting inside it turned out that the toilet was not working. After that, I sat in a queue, but I had to wait another forty minutes, although there were about twice as many employees as visitors, I didn’t have enough patience to wait.

This is my most recent update to my experience at Specsavers in Bolton. Today i visited for a contact lense check and eye test and to choose new glasses. Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. Transition between departments was smooth and faultless. A very good customer service and experience. Well done to all staff and thanks for your help. Would recommend this store for contact lenses and glasses. 10/10

Ive changed this review to 5 after being contacted by Amy from specsavers, she talked me through my purchace and i realised id missed some crucial information at the fitting and in actual fact i have got a great deal so thanks for the great service and i love my new glasses! Buy one get one free offer sounds great, however i was confused by the upgradeed lens options that i was encouraged to purchase (Tinted, scratch and vari focal).Once id got the price down to an exceptable level without all the bull i was advised to get a set of free readers, no mention was made that i could have bought another set of bi-focal glasses, i feel ripped off!

Cancelled appointment 20 minutes before time, completely inconsiderate and unprofessional. The person making the call was incredibly arrogant. Went to Boots instead. A completely different level of service.

Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended from a family member. My son needs glasses 🤓 He can't wait to pick his spiderman glasses up. Don't waste your time with vision express just book with Specsavers.

Had a very bad experience from my lenses consultation appointment today. I got my new lenses today and I wasn’t able to see well from them my vision was double so I told them few times and they keep saying we can’t do anything it will get better. I never had this experience before I’m really disappointed. It’s just wasting money if they can’t help you out.

We came for my daughters first ever eye test. Seemed busy, and I was a bit dubious, but good system in place and not left waiting. Was seen before appointment time too. Very friendly child oriented staff, helped my daughter have a positive and pleasant experience

Can’t praise the staff enough, from Kathryn booking me and my wife in to Adnan and Veronica doing the eye tests so polite and courteous. Choosing our glasses was made easy thanks to Adam and Toni who gave great advice and made sure we got a great deal. Brilliant service from a great team. Top notch.

Would not recommend to anyone guy on the door taking covid precautions even though you've already filled in before your appointment Would not let my wife and daughter in even though my daughter had a appointment after me told them to go and have a walk about come back in 20 minutes. Who wants to walk about in the rain

I attended Specsavers for an eye test and an OCT scan and I was really impressed with the service from staff. I was welcomed by a lovely lady who took my details then did the tests. I was then seen by the optometrist who was exceptional. She gave me support and kindness and explained everything fully. I can't thank her enough for putting my mind at rest. Would definitely recommend Specsavers
