This was so good we ended up eating there three times. Morning, afternoon, late afternoon. I’m not a big fan of English Breakfast, I must admit. What I was served was good and not soaked in fat and so, which I really appreciated. My poached egg was unfortunately a hard boiled. I was on a 4 out of 5. The service and coffee was really good and definitely took it up a notch. Then I tasted the Bakewell pudding, and my good God, it was delicious! I’m not much into sweet deserts, and I did not expect much of it due to previous food experiences eating out in UK. But wow. I fell in love. Later I returned to have smashed Avocado. A brave move to spice it a bit up from the kitchen’s side had me praising the place. 5 out of 5. It was a proper size meal, fresh and tasty. The poached egg was perfect. Last visit I had Croque Monsieur. Not many outside France gets it right. But I was not disappointed. I end up on a 5 out of 5 despite the bell pepper in the salad. Bold move. I can’t wait to return - I’ll return for the food at this specific place. Thank you!

The Bakewell pudding at this place was absolutely delightful! Its texture and flavor were spot on. However, I must admit that the tart was a tad too sweet for my liking. Maybe I should have ordered Almond flakes instead of iced topping. On the bright side, the coffee served was also excellent, complementing the dessert perfectly. The overall experience was enjoyable, and I appreciate the effort put into creating such a tasty treat. Definitely worth trying! 🥧☕😊

We specifically visited the Original Shop to taste the Bakewell Tart and Pudding which we had heard was made fresh daily. We were seated straight away and the staff worked really hard considering how busy it was to be served within a reasonable time. Was not disappointed as they were really tasty, we had 2 cappuccino's to go with our cakes which were also really nice. The shop downstairs had various products at very reasonable prices, I would recommend the clotted cream fudge and the Lemon drizzle cake. I am sure the other items would have tasted just as good!! I cannot understand when people moan about the cost, look at the quality of the produce that is served!! Will recommend a visit and try their lovely products.

Very expensive for what you get. Have been visiting for years and each time the portions have got smaller and the prices inflated (£22 for afternoon tea for 1 with tiny finger sandwiches). I think we'll just visit the bakery downstairs next time and not eat in. The bakery has delicious treats each time we visit. Especially love the Bakewell puddings so we stock up for our freezer at home, they really freeze well!

Lovely time visiting the original Bakewell pudding shop! Delicious puddings and cakes, and great selection of drinks. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Just called in to buy a Bakewell Pudding (not a tart, although they now sell tarts too). Amazing. Make sure to warm in an oven, then serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Surely the greatest of all puddings.

Very nice food and drink but service, upon arrival, is slow. A tad more expensive than your average cafe, but you will not get a genuine Bakewell Pudding elsewhere. Beautiful surroundings.

Lovely building with interesting history. Mixed views on the pudding. Some of us liked some didn't but all agreed it was a bit pricey.

Stopped for a brew and cake. Service was incredibly slow, took 20 mins to order and another half an hour to get our food, by that time we had drank our drinks. The place was practically empty at that point too. Whilst the cake was nice we had to rush to get back to the car before the parking ran out.

The original Bakewell pudding bakery which sells some nice bread, pastries and random stuff. We got some small puddings to try and they were delicious. The filling was not overly sweet and the crust was nice.

We had taken away Pastel denata, the famous Bakewell tart and Bakewell Pudding from here..all are super delicious. Staff was lovely. We didn't get chance to sit and eat there as it was nearly their closing time.

The lunch and service was good and well priced with everything being explicitly priced. The exception was the Bakewell pudding that was not on the menu not priced on the display of food. Consequently, when we discovered that we were charged £7.55 for a small Bakewell pudding we were shocked(even when nicely presented - see photo), especially as they were on sale in the same shop for £3.50!!!

Nice little shop. I must admit I only knew of this place due to watching Susan Calman's Grand Day Out TV show. The food was fresh and lovely. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Will return if I'm ever back In the area. We had lunch in the restaurant upstairs then took fresh Bakewell away with us for later. Must admit there was so much to choose from I struggled to pick what I wanted lol.

Went with my husband and 18 month old. Food was delicious and came very quickly. We had lunch and then had some tea with the Bakewell pudding and a Bakewell tart. Atmosphere was very lovely and cosy. Staff were friendly ☺️
