Enjoyed the climbing hangar, good social atmosphere and take my son there most weekends for a couple of hours, even got a membership because it's more cost effective. Good variety of climbing walls and they are changed round regularly so you never get bored of doing the same climbs. The climbing hangar offer lessons and classes for children and there are 3 separate sections, the main section, children's wall and an advanced section for more experienced climbers. Cannot fault the staff they are welcoming and have a very good work ethic. Well recommended.

Great vibe here, family really enjoyed the different walls. The little cafe serves good quality food at a reasonable price.

This was the first time visiting for myself and my 8 year old daughter. The staff were excellent and very friendly. My daughter loved her visit, especially the slide! She was excited to get to the top of the gray routes as well as a couple of the greens. Well definitely be back to try again.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. It's been a long time since I've been on a climbing wall and I went with the original intention of introducing the 5 year old to it and she and I were amazed by our 5 hour experience here. Note, this was just in the introductory kiddie area! Large climbing area with multiple routes and challenges with climbs of about 14ft over a wall and into a high drop down slide to start all over again for kids and adults alike. Cosy seating area for adults participating or just supervising. The food was basic but wholesome and just what you need to keep you fueled and ready to hit the wall again, stuff like bacon on toast or egg and beans. Simple but light and delicious!! Prices reasonable too and they bring your order to you in most cases. Staff were friendly and super helpful even when I was getting told off for climbing up the slide. I met and chatted with loads of interesting and friendly people while I was climbing or messing about with the little ones which eventually turned into a big Dads vs Kids monster chase and Freya met some really nice friends we hope to see again soon (thank you for playing with us Evie and Temperance!) Free parking is available on site amd along the roads leading to site. All this and we didn't even venture out into the sections for the older crowd. 10/10 will absolutely be back and bringing friends. Thank you everyone!

This gym is sick! So many different wall types and gradings and the staff are all super lovely. It was never hard to find a challenging wall for whatever level climber you are, and they have a great range of holds. Also big shout out for the "no topless climbing" rule, it makes a huge difference as the place was pretty much 50/50 split men and women, which makes this place a rare gem. The vibe was generally great here and I can't wait for my next trip to liverpool so I can come again 😊 My only improvement would be to have more space in the spot for warming up, but this is personal preference.

I've been a member at this climbing gym for about 3 months now and I attend regularly. The staff are really friendly and will answer any questions you may have about climbing. The grading system seems fine but I have noticed that due to the amount of footfall here there doesn't seem to be many dynamic boulders. There's no belaying in this gym either which is a bit sad but, due to site constraints, this is to be expected and I think they make great use of the space regardless. My only gripe is that the staff don't seem to walk around the boulders very much and people tend to sit on the crash mats right beneath the arch and some of the underhangs. Other than that it's a great gym!

Visited for the first time yesterday. It's one of the best climbing gyms I've been too. The staff were incredible. Super friendly and helpful. There was a great selection of climbs on different wall angles. Plus all the other climbers were friendly and I could sense a strong climbing community vibe

The Hanger is an amazing place to climb. The walls are great and there are so many of them that you will not get bored. Its a very popular place and can be busy at times but be patient as its worth the wait.

Been visiting with friends for a couple of years, although I'm still not so good on the walls, I've grown in experience since starting from being scared of the height to being able to scale some easy climbs. Worth a visit if you're brand new or experienced.

This is an excellent place for a different kind of workout with a variety of levels to challenge yourself. It's a bonus that staff are friendly and fellow climbers are equally as kind, making it not an intimidating environment to walk into. Highly recommend!

If you haven't been Bouldering here yet - you're missing out! This is one of the Best Bouldering facilities in the North West and I've been to most of them! Really friendly, committed staff make it feel like "Home from Home" - You should definitely try it - you won't be disappointed.

Really great place and nice staff. Can get extremely busy at times though and sometimes there is an noticeable haze of chalk if the fan isn’t on. Can’t fault it otherwise, perfect place for both an introduction and continuation in the sport of bouldering.

I had a great induction. And it made me really enjoy my goes after that. Staff members were helpful. Customers all seemed friendly. Spacious, lots of walls to try it, including a beginners wall. I signed up straight away.

Climbed here for up to a year on and off. -Staff 5* friendly, plenty of advise and nice. -Grades- A lovely variety of grades from easy to 'impossible' -Didn't try the food. Something to improve? -Ermmm.. I guess the gym is a little small

Funally a great gym in UK, I've almost lost hope! A big gym with boulders for everyone, good route setting, not many runs and jumps, almost no height dependant boulders. A very nice area "cave" with so many boulders on overhangs and nicely graded. An area with campus could be a little larger, but otherwise one of the best gyms I visited. Did not find anything close to this in London.

Excellent place to spend a few hours bouldering. Grandson (6) loved it. Good vibe, good cafe, bigger than expected. Odd location on industrial estate but keep going, parking outside.

This place is a lot of fun with a friendly atmosphere, and the activities engage you both physically and mentally. The staff are friendly and the patrons were hugely supportive and spent a lot of their time helping us. The cappuccino was also out of this world (the beans are from Liverpool-based Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters).I'll be back!

One of the best and friendliest bouldering walls I've ever visited and I've been climbing on and off for over three decades now. A very special mention must be given to the staff who are absolutely fantastic and absurdly helpful, and the cafe is top notch too. Climbing routes are reset regularly so you don't get bored doing the same ones all the time, and they're also really consistent with the levels of the routes. It's so good, in fact, that I became a member even though it's some distance away from where I live. There's a special kids area for young climbers, coaching is available in both one-to-one form and group classes, and there are fitness equipment and classes available. I only wish it was closer to home so I could go more often!

Great place for all different types of groups. If you are a beginner or a export every one will find a route to have shot at. The staff are friendly and will help you out with you have any queries about the specific climbing or in general. You can hire climbing shoes for free or hire more prestigious shoes for some money. One climbing session costs a tenner but full month costs around 30 quid. I fully recommend this place.

The staff are really helpful and enthusiastic. This is definitely a place to meet people as well. There's loads of organised lessons including yoga! There are loads of climbing routes and ample space to store belongings as you prepare yourself to fall off the wall a million times. It's so much fun.

Great place with a variety of climbing routes for all levels. Super friendly staff. The food in the café is also amazing (and very vegan-friendly). I was just visiting for the day so won't get a membership, but I would recommend one if you're local!

Haven’t Been for years since having the kids. My daughter has turned 4 so thought I would see if she liked it just like I do. Safe to say I didn’t need to worry! The staff was very helpful and friendly and briefed us all what we could and couldn’t do before we started including a little induction for the children. Still a great place even after all these years! Highly recommend!!!

Had a brilliant time here with my kids (4 and 7). The staff were incredibly generous with their time and support, everyone was very friendly, and it felt like a really inclusive, gentle space (someone had even brought a dog!) Costs were similar to a soft play session but we could stay as long as we wanted and were allowed to bring our own food. Both kids were initially nervous but with a bit of encouragement they soon got into it and we ended up staying three hours. We'll definitely be back. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.

Awes....err, excellent bouldering centre, has a different feel to the also great Matchworks so we tend to alternate. Friendly staff, pretty well stocked shop and the advice is bang on. Coffee is better at Matchworks though 🙂☕

A bouldering centre 5 minutes from Sandhills railway station. It can get extremely busy of an evening so I find it is best to visit of a late afternoon. People here are very friendly and this is a really supportive environment. Membership is £28.99 per month so it doesn't come cheap but day passes are available for £9 for those who only wish to visit occasionally. They have weekly yoga sessions available to book which are included in your membership fees. It would be nice to see a lower membership fee for those on low incomes as otherwise it could price out a lot of people in the area who are in need of destressing.

The kids had tried wall climbing before but not bouldering. Although they were nervous at first they soon got into it and absolutely loved it. Great cafe too!

First time visiting and it was great! Good value for money and Sonya provided a really thorough induction, checking in and supporting if we needed. Will definitely be back :)

Visited with my boyfriend whilst on a trip to Liverpool. I had never done any climbing myself, let alone bouldering, and my boyfriend had a little experience. I was nervous, but the staff were very friendly and put me at ease instantly. We were given an induction and talked through how to safely land should we fall. Then we were taken to the climbing walls and talked through the different difficulty levels, and guided up a basic wall. It was a lot less scary than I thought! We then had about 2 hours to do as much climbing as we liked. We had a great time, trying different sections to climb and challenging ourselves. Afterward, we got a drink from the cafe area. The cafe sold plenty of food and drink that was suitable for people who can't have dairy or gluten, or who are vegan etc. Also, all the products sold, including coffee, food, other drinks, and even bouldering equipment in the shop, was all fairtrade and/or locally produced and ethically made. We bought some Tony's Chocolonely chocolate bars, which were insanely good, and a firefly drink and a smoothie. I definitely recommend the climbing hangar! It's a lot of fun, and there's something for everyone, whether you're a total beginner, or someone who is very experienced.
