Wallasey Central Library is an old building, Victorian looking with an interior to match. The wooden bookshelves seem to be original, and are well stocked with a great range of books. There are free to use computers and regular events held here. The staff are friendly and helpful, the library is well lit and laid out. Upstairs is a reference library.

Built in 1911, this is "one of the least altered and best-preserved examples of a substantial symmetrical Carnegie library in the UK. Sited in a park, it still provides users with a delightfully bright top-lit interior with views out." A sacred space.

I love this library, I have used it since I was a kid and for the following years on and off, it has it all except a One Stop Shop which is ok cause it makes it less crowded and there’s a One Stop Shop at the Wallasey Town Hall, most of the staff seem to have been there forever, carry on I still need you so do the next generation’s.

I spent a huge chunk of my childhood and early adulthood in this library and the children's library next door. Only stopped visiting and borrowing as I moved away. However, Earlston Road holds a very special place in my heart. PLEASE don't let subsequent generations be deprived of the privileges we had in the '60's, '70's, '80's and beyond. Libraries provide so much community cohesion and much, much more. The wonderful books I read that fed my lifelong love of reading and developed my imagination. Everyone should have this opportunity. And a word about the architecture. Even as a little girl, I remember being awed by the majesty of the building. Please don't sell it off and turn it into apartments.....It also ignited my love of architecture. Thank you Earlston Road library for so many, many years of happiness. May you live on and on. ♥ 👏

Always a pleasure to visit the library and feel very privileged to have such a great public library within a short walk of home. The speed at which newly published books arrive on the shelves never ceases to amaze me.

A lovely Edwardian library which has a display of Mersey ferry model ships and building date stones. The library runs a variety of adult courses and art displays.
