Its nothing special. I hope it was donated and the council didn't spend money on it instead of using the money on other local more deserving causes.

I like this statue.. It makes me happy.. I drive around it til I get dizzy then veer off into the grass! 5 stars from me.

Nice little place to visit. Clean with plenty of parking, there's a supermarket within walking distance as well as a variety of places to eat. Indoor activities are a little sparse; a small arcade and a small leisure centre but the beach is big and there's a huge fielded area less than 100m back from the seafront where kids can play safely. The only real downsides I could see were a lack of public toilets considering how popular the area is, and some of the local vendors are a bit on the pricey side but both of these issues can be avoided with a bit of planning and use of the centrally-located supermarket and restaurants.

Good long walks along the Mersey, boating pool and watch the model boats (Thursday and Sunday) mostly. Mediterranean chippy (get chips and gravy). Pavilion theatre cafe gets a bit busy during the weekends. Plenty of local cafes in the street nearby. Perch Rock looking a bit run down and sad now, didn't venture to look in. Decent clean beach. Good long walk to seacombe ferry after your chips and gravy. Some well known eating places and shops. Nice when it's sunny. Nightmare when it's windy and raining. Want to see some action visit during the two yearly spring and winter high tides and the wind is howling.

This statue rather divides opinion I think. Personally I'm not convinced, and tend to tune it out of my vision as I pass. I'm not entirely sure what relevance it has, or even if it's particularly well executed. In fact the now I think about it I've knocked another star off it's rating! I'm generally a fan of art and sculpture in the public domain, but this is no Gormley.

This statue features on the channel 4 advert for channel 4, the big metal figure running down the prom next to the people in the wheelchairs, you can see this stage in the back ground, You can also see the red and white cranes, the river mersey, Liverpool skyline and newbrighton promenade.

Not a huge fan of clowns but it is an ok feature to the prom, might have been something more fitting though.

Went here fishing at low tide on the beach and to be honest fishing was rubbish but it can be good. Nice bit of beach with good views but gets muddy near the waterline so not ideal for a day on the beach sunbathing. The promenade is very pleasant but you need to watch out for bikes.

Love New Brighton always have. Visited as a child, then when I had my son I took him. Lots of places to eat, miniature golf, soft play place, supermarket, other shops, Floral Pavilion, The palace which has been there since I was a child, arcade games, fairground rides. There is a wonderful cafe called The Waiting Room on Victoria road, breakfasts, sandwiches, cream tea, afternoon tea, hot and cold drinks. All cakes are home made, scones are to die for. Look the cafe up and pay it a visit, you won't be sorry and will return 😊

I'll be honest I didn't even notice this statue but did enjoy looking at the wind turbines out at sea and various dogs having the best day of their life on the beach. Weirdly a large amount of cannabis aroma around, it was eurovision weekend so maybe the Netherlands crew had come in hard that weekend. I don't know that for sure though.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. This thing has blighted New Brighton for years on the most tenuous of connections with the town. May as well have a sausage to commemorative all the great chippies in town.
