I’ve been twice today. First time the bald chap with the tattoos could barely be bothered to look up from his magazine. Second time I asked about fish. I’m clearly new to the hobby but instead of explaining helpfully where I was wrong the lady was incredibly dismissive and rude. Avoid this branch if you can

Always leave here feeling just a tad ripped off. Service is SO slow with lots of follow up sale questions. If you're hoping to pop in and out, good luck!

Wouldn't sell a hamster as we didn't buy our cage from them. This is despite showing a picture our our very happy (sadly deceased, 2 year old hamster) enjoying our cage's many levels and tubes. The stated reason, 'Syrian Hamsters like to burrow, and a Dwarf could squeeze through the bars'. This is absolute rubbish, the cage was supplied as a hamster cage and supplemented with an additional hamster stack. One upset 7 year old, two parents who will not shop at Pets at Home again.

It's a very nice big shop for your pets food, treats, toys. The staff are very friendly and make you really welcome with or without your pet. My little dog loves going there, as they make such a fuss of him and always give him a treat.

The shop assistant Ellie was very helpful and courteous nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely shop here again as Ellie was lovely person .

Pretty good but the stock was a bit disorganised. Buying a dog coat. They could have been better displayed with perhaps a sizing chart. I had measured my dog at home, but the coats didn't display measurements. Bought one too large and had to go back - with dog - to exchange and try one on. That said I did get one as the photo will attest.

Great place. Unfortunately we had to wait around for quite a while until staff was available to help. Not a bad visit overall.

For such a big store in a big place they stock very little. Shame really. I dont usually go into pets at home but needed something for ny dog. They never had it. Probably wont go back, find it a little overpriced. Staff were very helpful though.

We like it here for the selection and some of the staff are lovely but I was in the store a couple of weeks ago and one of the store staff made fun of a couple who had a kitten on a lead she joked the kitten thought it was a dog any animal can go on leads especially if they live in a flat its there way of having exercise.

Went in to Adopt a guinea pig, had got a huge hutch myself, was told the guinea pigs had been there since November, I was told by a young lady, she then went on to give me the 3rd degree, how big is the hutch, where will they be kept, which I understand for pet welfare, however she then said they were happy there,played well? she then git her manager who went through the same questions, told her I was 53 had looked after guinea pigs and rabbits, had a big garden, to which she then said, you need a child's playhouse for the size!!!??? Absolutely hideous don't think they know what there saying!! my cage is enormous I will never shop for anything in there again! Offering a good home and there not interested! I have sent them a email heard nothing! Avoid this place, heard to many reviews of them unwilling to sell pets!!! ! Do they not realise its a PETSHOP!!!!!

I've been taking my dogs and cats here for the last 10 years and not once have I had an issue with any purchase or any vet appointments. Staff always happy to help.

Never gotten food in for our dog and when it is in never enough for all customers went 3 time in 1 week and all I got was sorry if not on shelf all sold out why wouldn't you have extra in the store room/back as if its all got then its obvious that it popular and sells well 🤔

Went in to look for some tropical fish. The tank area was piled high with sawdust and hay bales. I was approached by a member of staff and told I could not walk round the bales to see the tanks, could she help me with fish? I said I could not see the fish, she said the bales would be gone in an hour. I said so would I - I'd be at home. She wandered off to chat with some bloke she obviously knew. She came back and asked what I was after. I said I'd been looking for some bottom dwellers. She then asked what volume tank did I have. I said I didn't know but I knew the measurements- I was about to say I could work it out when she said they could not sell me fish if I didn't know the tank volume. I left. Very poor customer service. Definately don't go here if you know your fish as they treat you like an idiot!

Had to book an emergency app and was fitted in.Andrew one of the vets is so caring and took time to talk to me would recommend him 💯

Pricey, so if you can't order online it's definitely place to go. If you can wait for your order do it online elsewhere as they can charge even twice in comparison to o line prices.

Located on a small retail park in Bidston just off the M53. Has a great range of products. Staff were very helpful.

A really nice store with great customer service! I bought an aquarium from Pets at Home online and unfortunately it arrived broken. I popped into store and the staff were really friendly and quickly exchanged my tank for a new one. I also bought my aquatic plants and water conditioning products there. The tank is currently cycling and it looks great, I couldn’t be happier! 💧💦🌱

My neighbour's cat kindly gave my dog fleas and after 27 years of dog ownership this was a new and horrible experience. Thankfully I was helped and advised by a really lovely young man at Wallasey store. He was very knowledgeable and polite and even advised I put a flea collar in the cylinder of my hoover,a clever idea I wouldn't have thought of. I have always received good customer service at this store,but on this occasion it was exceptional. Well done to my flea advisor.

Been shopping at Pets at home for a long time now I've never had an issue with anything they always seem to be very welcoming and friendly when I need to buy things for my pet gerbils. There are other shops near by that sells pet stuff but they don't have an awful lot stuff like pet's at home seem to and ordering online is very easy too

Grand shopping experience for our puppy 😁 he loves every minute of it. Good range of pet merchandise and really nice staff. We enjoy every visit.

Need to change the fish policy when buying fish as according to a member of staff a picture of a fish tank is needed to buy a fish. Customers should know this before travelling all the way to get a fish, even if other members of staff have sold them fish before, won't be shopping here again. As a fish owner for over 10 years I'll be buying my fish else where.Rude staff.

Expensive but needed ear drops for dog quicker than Amazon could deliver so served a purpose.

Good store with good range - use for our pet food, treats and accessories. Can find items cheaper else where but that’s the price you pay for convenience. Customer service after purchase is pretty poor so wouldn’t advise trying to return anything unless you’ve not looked or breathed near the item.
