πŸ‘πŸ‘ Nice, quiet, small farm in city. Friendly staff, children really enjoyed it. Was not able to meet all of the animals today, but hopefully soon. Easily accessible by car, bus or train. Great inexpensive day out with kids. People often mention animals, farm, lovely, staff, kids, visit,

Beautiful quiet place to have a wander and see the animals, cute chapel and pay respects to those who have passed. Lovely produce to buy and friendly staff who clearly care.

Met a lovely woman today within the cafe/shop area (unfortunately didn't get her name but she said she was retired and had returned as a volunteer). Despite the fact that my youngest peed on the floor, and then my eldest needed the first aid kit after climbing things she shouldn't have been, this lady was wonderful! She couldn't do enough to help us. Also, the free drinks and fruit for the children is very kind. I came with my bank card only as its been a few years since we last visited, but we will be back in the very near future to make a donation. Highly recommended and very grateful to this kind volunteer.

Just love this hidden oasis of nature, with the majestic Walton prison looking over. Lots of farm animals along with pathways cutting through cemetery and woodlands.

This visit I helped remove a dead tree near the duck pond. Now safe for weekend event. A great productive evening care of Sean

Cute little farm with a decent sized woodland to walk dogs around. Megan and Luke are absolutely lovely and deserve a pay rise for all their hard work. You can buy feed for the animals too and they sometimes have fruit/veg/flowers/plants for sale

Great place to bring youngsters with well behaved livestock. The farm sits among Walton Hall Cemetery which is also worth a look

*I decided to edit my original review* I decided to become a volunteer at RLCF shortly after my original review. I can honestly say that Lucy and the team of other volunteers are very hard working and care about the farm 100%. I have also been fortunate enough to meet Sean who is one of the trustees of the farm. They have got a good variety of animals here and they are always looking to add more. (I previously said that the animals that are on display varies day to day) this isn't the case. It is all down to luck, sometimes the animals might be in their houses asleep or other times they will be out in their pens and wanting to say hello! Overlooked by HMP Walton and surrounded by busy roads, I myself at peace when I'm working at RLCF because it's an area where you can come and forget about the world for a little while. *My original review;* Great little place to bring kids, the selection of animals that are on display varies from day to day. It is relatively small but the staff are known to be around and are quite happy to stand and chat. You have also got the fields with other animals in to go and see. There is also a bunch of historic graves and a Chapel so you can pay your respects. I have been here a couple of times and on my latest visit the public toilet was in poor condition I hope that this is sorted soon. None the less it is definitely a good place to visit.

What a lovely, peaceful place to get away from all the noise of the city for a little bit. Kids had a great time looking at the animals and even petting some of them!

Came to visit for the 40th Anniversary event and had a coffee and a piece of cake. The ceiling on the chapel is amazing. Came home with a strawberry plant. A very enjoyable hour spent there.

We really enjoy what they have to offer at rice Lane farm. It's a real shame that there aren't many animals there anymore though. The staff are friendly and good with the kids.

Good. Didn't have that many animals, however the fact it was so peaceful in the middle of a busy part of town made up for it.

Went for an autumn fair but was impressed with work done there. New patronage is a help. Not an easy place to find without local knowledge or satnav.

I'm so disappointed in the less than 5* reviews as this is a great little city farm and it's profit free, well done rice lane city farm you are doing well and carry on what you are doing, big thumbs up

It is very fun and simple, everything is close together and the animals are kind. I will tackle the rams (the one in the video he apparently wanted to throw hands)

Lovely place to go for a walk around. Grounds are kept immaculate. Some sheep and ducks/chickens but more a place for a quiet stroll. There is a small play area for younger children.

My son was having a down day so we decided to come and say hello to some animal friends. This farm is really well run and the staff are so attentive to the animals.

😠 Very bad management. Lack of communication. They don’t know how to communicate with vulnerable people who are living there. Manager Amy McCann is very irresponsible and and rude person not suitable for this job . You need to have someone who can make People feel. Safe who Are mostly vulnerable...
