My mum bought me a lovely Rabbit buck from here, but 8 DAYS later he passed away due to a respiratory infection. The staff probably don't care, they probably don't sanitize the cages. I've read the reviews and most of them mention the same situation. I'm still missing Opal, I haven't got over his passing, he didn't deserve to die; One of the staff in my School works with Animals and has some certificate in Animal therapy, I told her about what happened and she also said that there was a Rat in a little box, the staff (who worked at this pet shop) said that she can have it for free or else they were going to KILL it! Terrible!!! So if you're going to buy a Rabbit, or any Animal, I'd definitely recommend buying one from a breeder. This pet shop should be shut down! I hope all the beautiful, innocent Animals are ok. Also the staff don't know the breed of Rabbit!!! They said he (Opal) was a Dwarf breed 'because of the ears', but turned out to be a Vienna, it also seems they don't have any info from his breeder, which they should have (e.g. the date of birth, breed, info on his Mum and Dad), they also didn't know the exact age, they determined he was in between 2 and 3 months, which he probably was. Waste of money! Don't buy any pets from here! Never coming back!

Absolutely fukking scum when it comes to fish I’ve always used Wavo nook fishery’s untill it closed a few months ago had a domestic tank for yrs never had a problem got three new fish from lister drive and lost my hole tank ther selling fish with white spot and openly telling you it bin treated and it hasent yes it’s sort of my fault for taking the risk but still ther reputation is awfull in Liverpool and the rates and reviews are all fake stay away ppl stay away thay need shutting down should of happend yrs ago

Great variety and very decent prices on some of the pet supplies, found a water feeder there I hadn't seen online anywhere else so bonus! Staff were all really nice too. All nice and clean animals.

Please adopt from your local animal shelter and don't shop, especially don't buy any pets from Lister fisheries. That place is unprofessional, unhygienic and their animals are not cared for by the staff. This is not something new about Lister fisheries, as that place has always been known as a horrible place to buy pets. They haven't improved their animal welfare, hygiene, customer service or anything at all in the last 20 years! Vets are never surprised when an animal turns up in their clinic coming from Lister fisheries because they are notorious for bad hygiene and bad caretaking of their animals. Just don't consider it... You will end up with a sickly animal or an animal that has been so poorly bred that it's not healthy at all! Lister fisheries only cares about getting your money, once they get your money, they don't care anymore. Please consider getting an animal from an animal shelter first or go spend your money at a more reputable, more caring, more hygienic, more professional... Far better... Pet shop! Lister fisheries really needs to be shut down.

Been coming here for many years, favourite is that my dog is allowed to walk through the shop and choose the treats she wants. Lots of well priced stuff, and sometimes i throw some pellets to the fish (the golden ones are straight out of a disney film). Great !

We were asked to buy a pair of female guinea pigs (sows) for my animal mad Grandson. It turns out that sows are in short supply currently so we rang around breeders locally and pet shops, who just laughed saying that you're on a long waiting list mate! However my research revealed Lister Fisheries and Pet Centre which is based out of the old baths building very close to Newsham Park. I rang up from North Wales as we were on holiday and only coming home today 18th July 2021, explaining what we were after and was told that they had received a delivery of 12 week old sows and that if we called them on Sunday he would confirm his stock and look forward to seeing us. Great customer service. We arrived after a traffic jam at 3.30pm and got our Guinea Pigs as he promised. It's a great place, very extensive stocks of all kinds of small pets and fishes. Thanks Lister we will use you again.

Went there today with my family for the first time since moving to Liverpool. I got to admit it’s fantastic! The girls had so much fun seeing all the animals! Staff are nice and helpful , had great time here today.

I took my dog in for a groom today and they did a lovely job!! It was her first time being professionally groomed so I was a little nervous but they were really friendly which put me at ease. She came out smelling gorgeous, looking so shiny and feeling as fluffy as a cloud! Lovely staff, service and great value - will definitely visit the groomers here again.

Love this place. Staff n owner always really helpful. Your dog is always welcome also. Let local kids help out too which I love as it teaches them about being a responsible pet owner.

Went there last week to buy a canary but came out disgusted. The first impression when walking through the door was it looked like a car boot sale. The aviary area was dirty and the cages the birds are kept in looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in days. On top of that there were obviously sick birds huddled in the corners of the cages, it didn't help the birds stress levels to have a cat prowling up and down in front of the cages.

Bought 4 fish from here got them in my pond with my fish that have been happy in there since the begging of spring without any deaths... put these 4 fish in from lister drive they slowly died over a couple of days taking 3 of my 11 carp with them..

Bought two goldfish from here yesterday. Got them home and realised they where full of whitespot. Got the treatment for them but one has died today. When I’ve phoned them, was told by some rude feller that I must of given it to them from the journey home. Now have a heartbroken child. Don’t shop here, they clearly don’t care for their animals and the fish are kept in dirty infected tanks. Should be closed down if they can’t provide good care for their animals.

Fish stocks in the main ponds where terrible in comparison to what they once where. Water quality didn't seem the best with the smaller holding tanks around the edges looking very worse for where tropical section was very low on stock and a few visibly ill fish still for sale. Please bring this place back to its former glory me and the kids loved buying from your self's but where put off massively on our last visit !

Been coming here for years! Friendly knowledgeable staff always happy to help. They have a great range of stock for all pets. We bought 5 Zebra Danios (in the picture in the tank) for our Daughter and they are thriving and enjoying their new home. A couple of tanks opposite had several dead catfish floating around which upset my Daughter a little but the staff assured me it was due to them being returned and not taking the travel too well. The store offer free water tests, allow fish to be returned where necessary and have good stock.

When I went with my boys they had selection of birds mice rats guinene pigs 2 rabbits and lots of fishes they have small tank and also have medium size man made pond for fishes it's a good size shop for kids to go explore they also have all types of animal foods and everything that you would need

How a supposed fish shop sells unassuming customers goldfish in small bowls amazes me, saw a couple of people buying small bowls and being given not 1 but 2 goldfish for it,( bowl to small for 1 nevermind 2) another staff member said get 2 shabunkins they last longer, sorry not in a bowl that small, need some real staff with proper knowledge of fishkeeping to work on the aquatics counter not those youngsters who obviously don't have a clue. I asked if they sell root tabs ( for aquarium plants) girl didnt have a clue. How they have a licence to sell fish I don't know. Will be reporting this.

Staff were really friendly got hsters out for my kids to stroke really good variety of products for all pets my daughter loves feeding the fish you can buy food for 20p and feed the fish from gold fish to koi carp

Plenty of things for you dogs, lots of people going in there, very pleasant staff, it's of be main route in to Liverpool, but easy enough to find. A must to anyone needing dogs goods ect

Again 2 goldfish bought 4 days ago one died, that’s 5 out of 7 that have died since I purchased them , never , never have I had so many goldfish die. Avoid purchasing fish as there must be illnesses with the fish they are selling.

I love this place, we've been going for years and years now. Which is why it's difficult for me to say anything negative. But I hope they read this and make improvements, rather than take offence. Animal welfare is the main concern. They recently improved (vastly) the conditions for the rodents (rats, mice, hamsters, rabbits etc). But the swimming pool full of fish, and the aviary, desperately need the same attention. These days it seems we can't go there without seeing at least one dead or near-dead animal, and it's gotten to the point now where my daughter came out upset the last time we went. I'll always give you guys a second chance and will always come back, but the conditions really need to improve.

Been going to Lister drive fisheries for years now the one stop shop for all your pet needs bought some fish this time six of them all were fit and healthy all still going strong would recommend Lister drive to anyone .

The animals here are not looked after properly. It's so sad as the animal care should be paramount. I always feel it's dirty and not well maintained and the staff are very uninterested. I think they should stop selling and breeding animals as they can't keep them healthy.

A great choice of animal feed. And an amazing Dog groomer there as well, wow wows. Highly recommended.

Bought a canary last week started gnawing bottom of cage I had a massive tumour removed from brain few months ago got me dad to take it back didn't get a 35 pound refund don't get me wrong I didn't ask the seller to sell me it but cmon 6 days anyway nevermind his choice

Alright for supplies but would not buy a live animal from here. Was hoping for some advicr about something unrelated and the guy told me I should have my fish tank at 28 degrees and ph 7.5 without even knowing what fish I had...

Went to lister fisheries Wednesday afternoon and got 3 goldfish the made up ther new home amazing place get cat food and cat toys be come back again thank you to the staff amazing 👍

Staff were ok however out of the 10 fish I bought 4 of them have died within a few days. 2 more of them don’t look healthy. My own fish are fine.

Great service Went in today to look at the fish and hopefully come home with some new additions but we ended up with 3 hamsters kids have wanted one for years and the set up kit was a bargain. Little home for the hamster 🐹 food. bedding and sawdust plus the little fur baby was £55 I have 3 children and there colours are pink blue and green so this was ment to be for us ❤️ So happy with the service and quality of my purchase today 😄 thanks guys.

Fish with all with white spot disease, everyone I know who has had an animal from here has died shortly after save your money and go to somewhere that take care of the animals. dirty conditions and cheap care

A good place to get your pet needs plenty of choices at reasonable prices. The fish ponds are good as kids can feed them for 20p. Recommended.

My little daughter and partner went yesterday to buy a goldfish There was loads of dead fish in the tanks. My partner ended up buying a goldfish only to get it home and it died 5 minutes later in the tank My little girl was heartbroken 💔

I am a regular visitor here but I was impressed on my last visit with the improvements that are being made for the welfare of the animals kept here. Its good to see such positive improvements and them thinking about the welfare of the animals more

Nice pet store for items such as homes, beds & food for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits. The fish however arnt great, the tanks are full of algae and dead fish in a few of them, and live plants were dead, and the fish was the reason we went to the store

great use of the pool for the koi. wasnt a fan of the small mammal room its strong smelling and feel like could have been in a different room with bigger spaces for the animals, huge warehouse of all different things from hamster cages to hutches and dog food sacks.

Staff member was very friendly and knowledgeable. It wasn't too busy. I bought some fish, there were lots to choose from, will be back soon.

This place needs to start thinking about taking on staff that have some kind of knowledge about the stock they provide. When In for fish food for a birchir and staff had no clue what it was and then they gave me the smallest Cory pellets so small that my tank gravel is bigger birchir would not even be able to eat that rubbish. This place needs staff that under the wellness and health of live tropical fish

If you're looking for anything in the way of customer services then avoid the male staff. I'm not dissing all the male staff, actually just one guy, but rather than point the finger I'm saying steer clear of all the dudes. The women are nice and help out, the guys (or at least the one I'm thinking of) is an obnoxious so n so. He couldn't get away from me quick enough and insinuated I was being cheap when enquiring about the cost of something, very offensive and condescending. I nearly walked out, had it not ruined my daughters day I absolutely would have. What a let down. Oh and I should note, just so I can't be accused of being sexist cos I know it sounds that way. I'm a guy, I'm not some man hating woman. I've had experience with most of the women serving and most of the guys too, and so I'm offering my opinion based on that. Do what you will with it.

Very knowledgeable staff and more than happy to help. Will definitely be returning and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
