My partner and I bought six fish from Pier Aquatics for our cat to watch in our new aquarium, a cat tv of sorts. Three fish died within the first 48 hours. When we finished unpacking in our new home we called to get them replaced. The girl that we spoke to was VERY rude and said we had to bring in the dead fish within 24 hours of purchase which was impossible since they died over a fourtyeight hour time span. We had pictures of the dead fish but that wasn't good enough. She acted as if we were trying to get free fish. We bought six in total and three are perfectly fine, so it wasn't our tank. I asked why she was questioning our integrity and then she hung up the phone and wouldn't pick up when we called several times after her childish rant. I see in the comments and reviews this is quite common for this company and we will never do business with them in the future. Buyer beware.

First time here. Amazing. Lots of choice. Reasonable priced. Really clean. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend Will be visiting here again very soon. Only issue spent too much haha 2nd visit now. Great service yet again. Perfect place. Very clean . Fish are all happy. Great advice.

I visited last week (Feb 2019). I was very impressed to start with because the selection of fish is amazing. But as I looked closer I saw a number of things that concerned me. Namely a large number of tanks containing dead fish (I counted five in one 20 minute visit. This isn’t a large proportion given the number of tanks in the shop but it still doesn’t look great to the consumer). We all understand that where there’s livestock there’s deadstock, though I witnessed staff bagging fish up for customers out of tanks with dead fish in them and not doing anything about it. The whole tank of Red Oscars was riddled with white spot - no sign on the tank saying they weren’t for sale. One tank of angelfish had signs of white spot, dropsy and fungal disease on multiple fish and I witnessed staff selling fish from this tank without mentioning anything to customers. Staff were friendly and welcoming though I’m afraid I won’t return because I don’t trust the health of their livestock.

Fantastic choice of coldwater and tropical fish. I love this place. All oddballs in 1 place.

The size of the store is huge, it is probably the largest I've ever been to, and has too many tanks to count (must be at least 150). The only issue is that several fish i have purchased from here have not lived very long and became diseased within a few days. So need to fully medicate and quarantine them in a separate tank if you are serious about making a purchase of any of the livestock. Good selection of fish, and prices are reasonable, but due to my previous experience I would exercise caution ⚠️ for any purchase.

Today 25th May 2022 I have added 4 videos from my purchase that I got back in December 2021. Let me say, it has been a brilliant choice and worth every £ there's no price for happiness. A big thanks to all at Pier Aquatics. I was pleasley surprised to find this great convenient shopping experience. Even a non lover of Fish Aquariums will love Pier Aquatics. It's got everything you need for indoor aquaria and outside garden ponds. Lots of nice tropical fish and carp for outside. You can also buy flexible plastic pipe in different diameters. It's worth a visit just to admire the fish 🐟 🎏!

Been coming here for the best part of 30 years I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with the service I have received. The place has changed quite a bit over the years as its expanded due to growing demand. You will find almost every type of fish except marine which allows them to consontrait on there tropical and cold water species. There's always something new wether it's south American or African cichlids, plecos rays or koi. All the Tetras and L numbers you could wish for. There stock is always high grade and healthy, wild and captive bread. it's worth a visit even for a look and a walk round whatever your reason you will always be made welcome.

Really good not been here for a very long time just came to get my daughter a new fish lots of coices not so much on fresh water fishes not that I no how many fresh water pets there are! but tropical theres loads and little turtles and stuff we had a look round was fun.

Bought some black tetras this past weekend. So far so good. First time I've visited Pier Aquatics for some strange reason. Huge selection of tropical fish. I will say that they need bigger thanks for their rare and expensive fish. They're cooked up in very small enclosures. Not good to see. The fish can't be happy in those. But other than that's, friendly, clean and a great selection.

First time visiting today. Very happy with the service that we received. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who pointed us in the right direction. Were looking for fish for my 5 yr old. Typically he chose the baby fish that weren't strictly in sale but she was extremely patient and accommodating to my little boy. Will definitely be back when these have settled ☺️

Ordered some plecos. Both arrived looking great, except a little pale. Cant blame them, id be pale too going through the post!! Was a delay with sending them but I was made aware before ordering so no drama there. There was a hole in the first bag which is expected with plecos. Thats why they're double bagged. Heat packs were still warm. All in all, very good packaging and very good fish.

Wow if your into fish then this is the place. They got everything and all at different sizes from babies to huge water monsters. Staff very informative and friendly. My new favourite aquatics centre.

Fantastic selection of fish, fantastic setup as far as fish stores go in the UK…..if that was as far as my review went, they’d get a 5 star in my opinion. Unfortunately, every time i’ve interacted with staff or purchased fish from the store, i’ve had issues. I’d recommend putting your own research into what fish you are aiming to purchase before popping in, and taking the advice given from staff with a pinch of salt, and prepare to quarantine whatever you do purchase, especially if you are spending big money….i may have just struck unlucky with staff experience as i don’t visit often, i see such a turnover in staff i don’t know who i should trust, and the veterans don’t seem to want my attention if i ask 🤷‍♂️ Beautiful fish, beautiful shop, absolutely no more time for staff than they have for me though 😅 will 100% go back, like a secret dirty pleasure 😍 (Edited in response to your reply) 2 star was a little too critical. So i’ve marked down from 5 stars for 1.customer service, and 2.quality of livestock. Your response to my review feels like more of an attack than my original review was ever intended to be, only further proving my point. I’m not looking to attack the store, only share my experience. I won’t air out your dirty laundry online by pointing out every single experience I had with the store. I accept that you wouldn’t ever sell a fish to me or anyone else if you know of any issues, i appreciate that. No reputable store would. I have had no PARTICULAR bad experience with the store, i’ve just never had one great experience with the store and always left either deflated or disappointed and that’s always been because of the attitude of staff. You have some amazing fish in stock at all times and that’s why i’ll always return, regardless of you making me feel welcome or not. I’ve never had any issues that i felt i should complain to you about or contact you in regards to, especially in store, you guys know what your doing right? Who am i to question that? I’m a fishkeeper that takes responsibility for the fish i purchase and i learn from that….i just expect a little bit more from such a niche shop, like being able to sex your plecs, between 2 members of staff, so don’t play that card 😅

Very helpful friendly staff and every fish you could dream of. All tanks very clean, all stock healthy. No complaints at all. Very warm so dress lightly If you visit or you'll be sweltering. The fish I bought are very healthy, well bred and happy and have already adapted well to their new tank, I will definitely be visiting again for more fish and plants.

Huge place with the biggest variety of fish, snails, shrimps and all aquatics. Been here once, shop was quite busy. Found some great looking plants, and bought few assassin snails. Unfortunately half of them turned out to be dead already 🙁 seen dead fish in quite a lot of tanks, not sure about the cause, but i think I'd choose another place to buy any fish if available in other shops around here. The cats in the shop were really nice though 😻

Visited 2nd March in the afternoon - awesome atmosphere, great selection of very healthy well cared for fish. Super experienced staff members, more than happy to help and have a chat. Super pleased with my plecos, tetras and little Betta friend, a real treat. Everybody made it back South safe and sound and is doing great this morning 😊

The staff were so helpful (including the friendly resident cat), and answered all the questions we had. They advised us and explained everything very clearly as we have no knowledge of fish or fishtanks. They stock so many beautiful tropical fish, and upstairs have so many large and chic tank options! Even to spend a day browsing, it was well worth the visit. The only downside would be the awkward parking. Otherwise, can't wait to visit again!

This is a sweet shop for fish keepers. The variety of fish is amazing and they look very healthy and well cared for. The store assistants are very knowledgeable and helpful. They are happy to spend time giving your advice and helping you to select the fish you want. We bought 12 beautiful peacock Cichlids. Very happy with our purchases. Very fairly priced too.

It was like walking into sweetshop when I was younger. If my head wasn't attached it would've spun off. Fish left, right and centre all different breeds and sizes. They have a large accessory section for filters, foods etc. A nice selection of tanks, various shapes sizes and models. I'm very Impressed with pier aquatics. Only downside for me is parking. Not much room for parking. I may of missed it. Truth be known........ its a top place no matter if the parking isn't great. Now to find where I planted that money tree!!!

Amazing fish shop, so much choice I walked round three times and I'm sure I still missed some fish. All the ranks were in great condition as were the stock. The turtles were active and cute. Will definitely be returning staff all friendly and approachable. Again an amazing shop.

I have been to many fish shops across England and this is by far one of the best.. the staff are very polite, every where was very clean and tidy, the fish are beautiful and very well looked after... honestly can't recommend this place enough.. Travelled up from Manchester today, staff are friendly , the store is amazing lots of variety of fish. What impressed me the most was there was no trying to force you to buy fish and giving inaccurate advice which we've had recently more locally.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to the amazing staff at Pier Aquatics 🥰 I have been and picked up, a beautiful Brachyplatystoma tigrinum (my dream fish) today and was blown away by the fish selection, friendly knowledgeable staff and amazing set up! I’ve not seen anything like it and I work for an aquatics company. Next level service, fish and company not to mention super pricing on every front 💯 well worth the 2 and a half hour drive there 👌🏼

Excellent customer service very knowledgeable staff who always give excellent advice fantastic selection of fish I have read on some reviews that fish have died after being bought I have bought many fish from Pier aquatics and have had only one or two die after a while.
