Disappointed in our experience, went to the resturant and the food really wasn't great, the roast dinner was cold and looked like it had been sat a while so was congealed. Veg was not really edible and meat really tough. We also ordered pancakes and found a hair in them, not the staffs fault but just disappointing, wouldn't eat there again.

Really disappointed with this. Firstly, the last two times I have been overcharged and had to go and tell them. Good job I got a receipt! Secondly, some of the food was really of a poor standard. The cheese on the sandwiches was the horrible pre-grated cheese that comes in a pack and its really dry and like plastic. The salad we had had no dressing on it although at least that looked fresh. The roast dinner was like hospital food and the carrots literally had no taste. The meat was ok but again, quite tasteless. This was the opinion of 4 people with different meals, not just me. As for the cakes, they were alright but nothing special. Definitely will not be going here again.

Great fish shop where we got our African pygmy frogs and shrimp from. The lady who has shrimp herself was very helpful. They have a range of frozen food too. Thanks, Livi Wirral Whiskers

Hadn't been here for a good few years and was amazed at how it had grown. Plants were brilliant, many at half price. Shop was huge! Astounded with the huge range of goods in there now, including an extensive range of Klass Clothes! Brilliant. Lastly, my 82 Yr old Auntie and I had THE Most Fantastic Lunch. Excellent service, staff were all obliging and amazing and lunch was fantastic. Hot and very tasty! Mmmmm 10 out of 10, never mind 5 stars!

First time I've been back in since August 2020, and there's so much more now than I can remember! Staff lovely and friendly, as always, and after our Latte and Toasted Teacake, we could have quite happily stayed there all day 😀 Repotting paraphernalia, wood protector for the gates, brushes, plant pots, and very happy customers

Always nice to visit Carr Farm Garden Centre. This time we’ve got even car valeted while touring around the gardens and shelves. Easter is coming - all displays are decorated. Nice freshly brewed tea and coffee, fresh cake and even “heavy stuff” for those came for the lunch with the the friends. Love this place

Carr Farm was a pleasure. The food is freshly cooked & excellent. Browsing the inner shops with the newly displayed Christmas stock was a joy too. And of course, the plants are gorgeous. Have a look for yourself, brilliant Px

Nice garden centre , good coffee shop , got a good children toy shop , got a variety of clothes, furniture, pet shop a d the list goes on in there .. you can browse for a while ... It's great at Christmas. The parking is good and got an animal farm where you can pet the animals for a small fee . It's definitely worth going.

Disgraceful! Hope this review reaches the manager of the cafe. My wife took her friend today to basically show her how good the cafe was but unfortunately it was an absolute fiasco and extremely rude and poor customer service. Her table did not have a number on it when she ordered and explained thus to the large lady serving her. Large lady said don't worry I have made a note of where you are and it will be okay. 45 minutes went by and still no tea or sandwiches. When my wife asked large lady where is my order she abruptly said its because you did not have a number on your table!!!! Tea then arrived cold as it was sitting there for 69 minutes and food stale. My wife and her friend totally unimpressed with service and food quality, very embarrassing when showing someone for the first time

Café massively understaffed and in a disgraceful state. Tables not cleared down had to do it for our selves. Christmas displays lacking lustre, Feels like a load of different Businesses all running in the same space but not running together. Won’t be hurrying back. Shame massive potential

Very busy and always popular. Could spend hours here shopping at different outlets. The cafe is large and pleasant and food okay but nothing out of the ordinary. Nice for coffee or lunch.

Went for lunch today with a couple of friends. Jacket potato and soup were both lovely. My quiche wasn’t that great with very little salad dressing. Horrified when I went to the ladies toilet and one of the waitresses didn’t wash her hands after leaving the toilet, a total turn off.

And eclectic mix from farm shop foods to a high-end market place with everything from shoes and bags to luxury outdoor furniture and just about everything in between including a car wash, and an on-site restaurant and a pet shop.. sorry no photos but I did spend £90 on bedding plants 🌱..

What an amazing shopping experience! At the entrance is a farm shop that sells all sorts of fancy treats, ales, meats and dairy. There are so many nice things in here, its hard to walk away with nothing. Inside the centre is just as amazing, the Christmas decorations are out at the time we visited and they have everything you could need. They even have a couple of gorgeous displays, just to get you in the mood. The pet fish section was also great, they have a large selection of cold water, tropical an salt water fish. They also have a indoor pond with a gold amount of nice sized carps, take a few £1 coins to buy some fish food from the vendor, the little ones love it! There is also a clothing shop, the works and a general gift shop that sells some amazing and unique things that you could gift to loved ones. There is a cafe also that sells coffees and cakes.

Large car park. Food hall has a very large selection of jams, chutneys, cakes, drinks and “home cooked” ready meals. There is a luxury chocolate counter, vinegars and oils. Country cottage wines, ciders and fizzy drinks. A little pricier (about 30% more) than other shops where you can but the same brands. Also has a gift section, bbq and kitchenware.

The garden centre is great and the staff were knowledgeable when we asked them questions about the plants. I have previously bought an aquarium and some fish, and the chap I spoke to about that was extremely knowledgeable about his stuff. There is a lovely looking cafe, but we've never visited as it's always busy.

I DO LIKE GOING TO THIS GARDEN CENTRE. there is a lot to see. the restaurant is very good too. when i go i always find something to bring home. you need to try the Bexleys sausages. they taste great, they have different types, i just got the pork and leek lovely! you can get 2 packs for £7 and they are well worth it. its always busy but you need to go if you haven't been.

Nice garden centre with a nice big deli at the entrance with a huge range of lovely produce the buy including local beers and the prices are not silly, the selection of products throughout the centre is wide with books gift ideas and clothing as well all the normal garden centre offering and a very good selection of fresh and tropical fish and Koi carp for the kids to feed, there is a big cafe selling coffee tea and snacks right up to a Sunday roast and everything cooked freshly and served by really nice and friendly staff. Well worth a trip if you're in the area.

I've coming here for several years now, mainly for the restaurant. It's utterly brilliant. Staff appear hard working at all times and nothing too much trouble. The choice on the menu is decent and when the food arrives, the quality is exceptional. Very recently went for breakfast, so was not surprised to see many ingredients were locally sourced. We'll be back soon.

Good selection of stuff and very reasonable plant and garden furniture prices. They deliver locally and build some furniture too, which is excellent. The food and drinks section is a bit expensive for what it is - although there are still tasty bargains to be found - and the actual local meat and veg produce section seems smaller than I’d like. I would highly recommend a visit, and also grab some Cheshire ice cream while you’re there!

Popped in for lunch on the way to Red Rocks in Hoylake for a walk. I remember the garden centre way back when it was literally just a huge metal structure. It has extended a great deal and has a lot to offer, depending on what your after. My son and I literally just ate lunch in the cafe, the staff where friendly. The food was OK, I think my son was a bit disappointed with his sandwich. It was a bit on the small side, even for an 11 year old boy. I think he was more taken with the huge fish tank and the beautiful fish within. The cafe is large and had numerous places to sit and eat, it was clean, light and airy.

Lovely selection of gifts but some a bit expensive. Looked at garden planters/trellis - very reasonable. Easy to access and staff pleasant. Only downside paying cash in "food" produce/gifts has to be exact amount as no change given!

  • 1/5 Sandy M. 2 years ago on Google
Although nice enough breakfast when it arrived. It arrived before the cutlery! It was cold. The children were now hungry so didn't want to send it back. Haven't been here for a long time. Won't be on the top of my list to go back. Poor overall.

This place is a tardis. Doesn't look that big from the outside but wow it's huge. We loved it. There is nothing that you couldn't get from there. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to visit! So much variety in what they sell/offer .. food (meat, sauces, spices, icecream, sweets) indoor/outdoor plants, beautiful artificial flowers, clothes, fish, garden furniture, unusual ornaments, all of great quality and very reasonably priced. You could easily spend a few hours looking around this place and really handy that they have an 'on site' cafe to grab a quick coffee and a slice of cake before you leave. Definitely finishes of the day!! 5 * from me!!

  • 5/5 Alice C. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely garden centre! Sells your usual garden plants, tools, statues etc as well as furniture, clothes, farmers produce. There is a small farm attached which was closed due to avian flu but excited to visit again & explore what looked like a well loved little farm.

This is such a lovely center. The employee i spoke to about houseplants was very knowledgeable and the plants are very reasonable in price and always beat my local B&Q in quality. The staff in The Works are great and always have stellar recommendations. The selection of outdoor garden plants are varied and really well looked after. The exit cashiers were very friendly and helped my grandmother with her discount card. I could spend hours happily in this place. The only downside is the cafe which is starting to show signs of wear and tear and it's food can be very hit or miss. Foodwise it wasn't a disappointment this time but just like our previous visits, i have no idea what's happened to the quality of service over the last 12 months. This hasn't been the first time that we've sat at a table filled with dirty dishes and had to request someone clear them away because no-one noticed. And it hasn't been the first time we've had to request another person to clean the table because it was visibly dirty and the previous person didn't think to do it. We just assumed that it was a one-off last time. And even after a very quick wipe, everything seems so grimy and worn, especially the chairs which are loosing the top layer of fabric. Between that, employee's holding onto sachets of condiments like Gollum holding onto the ring of power and having to use slurpee cups to pour our drinks into because glasses weren't provided and we we're exhausted at having to queue up again... it seems like corners are being cut here. It's a real shame.

The food isn't bad. The cafe itself is light and airy. The problems start when you walk in. There is a notice, telling you to find a table before you order. This can be difficult, if it's busy, because when you leave the table to order, someone else decides that it's their table. The waiting staff are all school age. They are not helpful. They consistently bring the wrong order, then look sulky when asked to correct their mistake. I forget how bad their attitude is, in between visits. Today was typical. I asked about the smoothies on the board, to be told that they don't have them. I ordered a pot of Spicy Chai Tea for one, and a Strawberry Meringue. The girl on the till asked if I meant a Strawberry Tart. I replied that I wanted the meringue. I was brought a tart, and no milk, no napkin, and no utensil to eat the meringue with. After getting the customary eye roll, when I asked her to bring the correct cake, and some milk, I gave up on a napkin and used my teaspoon. I would like to say that this was unusual, but it's the normal experience. When I took my mother, the apple crumble and ice cream that she asked for, came as apple pie. The girl looked really sulky and asked couldn't she just eat the pie? My mother felt so guilty that she was going to, until I said that she should have what she ordered, but it spoilt her meal. I don't like saying bad things about places, but this is just embarrassing.

I only went to get the Carr washed, but took some time out to go and have a look inside the buildings, interesting and worth another visit. Looks as if there is plenty of choice for buying the odd gift or two. They also have a Cotton Traders section.

A bit different to when I last visited over 12 years ago before leaving the Wirral. What happened to Dave the butcher? It was well stocked but some items were rather expensive. I found the atmosphere quite oppressive so didn't stay long.

Visited Carr Farm Cafe today. Quite a number of available tables but all covered with dirty plates, half eaten food and cups. We cleared a table ourselves to sit at it. We were there a good half hour and the tables still not cleared. Very off putting

Have family who live in Hoylake and always love going into the garden centre when visiting from Birmingham. Never leave without buying a few items. I wish it was closer to Birmingham. Such good quality with every they sell and the restaurant is great too. Looking forward to our next visit in a couple of weeks.
