Caldy beach is quite muddy. A lot of the ground is silt and mud, rather than sand, which is why it tends to attract fewer visitors than the beach on the other side of the marine lake. However, there are a number of curiosities which make this beach worth visiting. Firstly, there are some lovely views out to Wales and further along the shore. The fact that it is quieter makes it a good place to go for a bit of peace and quiet. You can see some fascinating marine life, such as crabs and jellyfish. If you walk far enough along you get to Thursaston where there is a nice country park. Past here is Heswall and you can even walk to Parkgate if you have the energy. Take care on the mud as it acts like sinking sand. Many people, including experienced sailors, have become stuck in the ground.

I recently visited Caldy beach with my son, and we were blown away by how wonderful the experience was. First of all, the beach was very easy to access, thanks to the steps leading down to the sand. This made it a breeze to get everyone and everything down to the beach without any issues. The small parking area was also a plus, as it meant that the beach wasn't too crowded, which made it a more peaceful. But what really stood out about Caldy beach was the stunning scenery. The views were absolutely gorgeous, with the tide just going out, revealing the most amazing tide pools and wet sand. The landscape was breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for a leisurely walk. Speaking of dogs, the beach looks like a great spot for dogs to run and play in the open space. Overall, I would highly recommend Caldy beach to anyone looking for a scenic location for a family outing or a peaceful walk with their dog. With its accessibility, stunning scenery, and open space, it's a perfect spot for everyone to enjoy."

A stunning stretch of beach with beautiful views. There are a variety of parking options to access the beach and you also have Thurstaston and West Kirby, deciding on which direction you want to walk.

Brilliant little beach, nice cycle route from west kirby. We cycled up with kids they loved it and on way back there is playground as well for motivating kids 😊

Nice views across to Wales. The beach is a disappointment and not somewhere to bring the children. Full of peddles and shells and sand is waterlogged. I can think of a lot of better beaches than this. I can not recommend this beach

A lovely beach for a walk, plenty of dog walkers and ideal in the summer for kids to have a play! Easy to find somewhere nearby to park and not too far from West Kirby town centre.

Right now I'm in a Spanish vineyard outside Ronda and it's truly beautiful but I still prefer this spot

Great for building sandcastles - just right- picnics, pool dipping and walking. But take care beyond tide line as it can get muddy. Parking for about six cars but we found a space on a summers morning.

Great place to visit for a quiet peaceful walk along the sandy beach (if the tide is out) also see swimmers regularly on the sunny days using here to launch/exit the water. Great views, area is lovely and kept clean etc.

We went for a walk along the beach. The views across to Wales are spectacular. The beach is quite stoney ,not recommended for people with walking difficulties.

Lived on the Wirral for 36 years and this place escaped me..I was in heaven on discovery. I will definitely be back on a regular basis. Relieved any stress I was feeling and for once I didn't feel lonely. Met some lovely people on my walk through to West Kirby and back.

Lovely beach, free parking but not a lot of direction to and from the beach to amenities.

Access by steps to a natural beach that is quiet with the exception of seagulls and other seabirds. Lovely.

Council should make a proper footpath as I've seen people walk for ten min on the beach and then half an hour to walk back due to lack of footpath when the tide comes in

Lovely secluded little cove off the Wirral way. Great for a relaxing time to just chill out. Never seen many people there, no cafe or anything, but that makes it nice and quiet. Only found by accident cycling around as I'm not aware of it being signposted from the walking/cycling track.

Caldy Beach has changed quite a lot since I cooked stew with the scouts on the beach in 1957. A nice area of clean sand ideal for small children and good walks along the beach ideal for dog walkers. The tide was out when I visited.
