Fabulous family meal in the conservatory area of the building on 5th July 2022. Great quality food and extremely attentive service, taste and presentation top notch. Can highly recommend the pizzas, and also the fabulous range of locally themed dishes. This was my second visit whilst staying in the area and will definitely aim to return.

Ate here for the first time, having Sunday lunch with a friend. She chose the chicken and I had the beef. She reports the chicken was lovely and enjoyed her meal. Unfortunately I cannot say the beef was the same. It turned up bloody (of which I don't mind) but it was sinewy and tough to cut, let alone, chew. The rest of the meal was fine with an assortment of vegetables and a fabulous Yorkshire pudding. The gravy was lacking. The desserts were pleasant. Service was OK. We may well come back again, however I will avoid the disappointment of the beef.

Lovely little traditional pub serving food. The menu was varied with a good selection of dishes on offer. I booked a table a few days in advance and when we arrived we where led to a table. It was busy when we arrived, the staff who served us where chatty and friendly. Our food was well prepared and tasted great, only issue was I had no space for dessert. I'd definitely make a return visit, there was a decent sized outdoor area, that I imagine would be lovely to sit in during the summertime.

An excellent traditional English country pub. Plenty of seating as well in the attractive garden at the back. It also has a big choice of well kept cask beers. One of my favourites

Very dissapointed indeed that I want to reserve a table outside for my family birthday and bring our family doggie...only to he told no ...the gentleman said its highly unusual not to get a table but why is not possible to be able then to save one so we are able to be assured our birthday celebration goes with no problems ...being in the catering business for many years I find this extremely odd .. .customer service is the most important factor of trying to help your customers as much as possible but this pub obviously doesn't need customers or willing to accommodate 10 members of our family who would have enjoyed such a lovely place .I'm sure another pub will greet us with the respect needed for our special occasion and be happy to receive our custom.

A walking group of about 30 of us attended for our Xmas get together. Our choice of food ranged from toasted sandwiches to 3 course Xmas dinner. All food was good and the staff very attentive. The only criticism we had was that the car park was like an ice skating ring. I believe the management have a duty of care to their customers. A couple of bags of grit,/ salt would not cost much.

We had a Sunday lunch recently, (we've been several times) and yet again the service, food quality and ambience was marvellous. The best part of the restaurant section is in the old cow barn, with great big high ceilings and real character to it. Plenty of parking.

Had my Dads 90th birthday family meal here recently and staff were great and we all enjoyed our food - sat in the Cowshed.

Superb food and a very helpful staff. Very nice pub with several different areas internally and a great outside area. Large carpark behind the pub.

It was my watering hole Fri & Sat evenings 35+yrs ago. Inside the main pub hasn’t much changed, which is a good thing! The dining area has extensively been added on to and expanded into the neighboring “cow shed” so that there is a new section which is where we chose to sit and eat. Good pub fare, although we were a bit saddened by the addition of black pudding to the scotch egg, otherwise lovely ales and delicious food, fish n chips and Cumberland sausage with mash n gravy. Very good service, quick and attentive. I’d go back next trip back to the Wirral for sure.

What an absolute GEM of a find this was. Everything a country pub should be. Homely, cosy, warm and friendly staff. And food is TOP knotch. Ive been twice in less than two weeks. I had the paté for starters the second time and that was soooo delicious..and the Chicken Supreme is to die for too.. if i could give 10 stars i would...

Loved this place! Locally sourced food. Unique and hearty flavours. Small top quality menu. I was glad to pay the prices as they delivered! Fantastic flavours! I didn’t even bother taking photos. I was too busy enjoying! Lovely staff. Lovely building & garden! Just do it!

A perfect pub lunch on a sunny afternoon in a beer garden. If you want good portion size... This is the place to come! I highly recommend the steak and onion marmalade ciabatta!

Lovely pub in a fabulous calm location. The tidiest, cleanest pub I've ever been in, and I grew up in pubs. Lime and soda for me, divine, best quality lime I've had on a very very long time. Keep being successful, team

Had a lovely vegan nut roast and fruit crumble pudding. Husband had a tasty beef burger and nephew had a bbq vegan burger followed by chocolate brownie. All very enjoyable! Dog friendly the dog enjoyed his sausage dinner!

All I can say is absolutely amazing, we went a couple of months ago and thought it may have been a fluke that it was so nice but nope, it wasn't. We went again last week, gorgeous hot food, large portions and so fresh and tasty. We plan to go back again this week... this place will certainly not be helpful to my diet haha. Thanks guys keep up the great work, love the place 👍

Lovely dining space in the cowshed but wasn't impressed at all with the quality or effort that went into the Sunday roasts. Beef was mostly fat and turkey served without usual trimmings. Also got overcharged by about a tenner.

Definitely my favourite place in the area. Beautiful atmosphere the food is OK and the beer is fine, same as any other place in UK

Staff as ever were lovely however food ordered by the group was tepid. One person in the group asked for her food to be heated up. Staff responded so well and apologised and rectified. However we felt uncomfortable complaining about other items also being tepid in temperature.

First time I have been here and it won't be the last. An old fashioned pub inside, friendly staff and great food.

Lovely country pub. Relatively small although it extends out into multiple rooms through to a more restaurant type space at the back. Food was good, beef Sunday roast especially was generous and well cooked (although came with steamed/boiled veg).

First vist 15th December 2023. Undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences I've had anywhere and I've been to many . An exciting menu, excellent beer and exemplary service from lovely staff. The pub and cowshed are delightful . A total treat not to be missed. What a gem.

Cosy, thatched country pub. Good food (the doorstep sandwiches we had were plenty big!) and well-kept cask ale.

Not been to this establishment in a while and felt disappointed in the food and service got stuck in the corner and repeatedly bumped and knocked every time the server attended the table next to us although my steak was beautiful and cooked perfectly I felt that my friend’s meal at £16 for what was just chicken mash and gravy was very expensive no vegetables nothing never the less my friend ordered the crumble for dessert as I’m not much of a desert person I just had another pint of bad apple cider which I find most pleasant and refreshing the crumble my friend had wasn’t it was under cooked and the custard she had to scrape out of the jug with her spoon so in all my experience was good my friend not so much

Really friendly staff and delicious food . Last minute booking on a Saturday night and they made us feel very welcome. Great to support an old …. Very old … historic pub . Dog friendly in the bar area and plenty of outside space in the beer garden . Great evening . Thank you

One of my favourite pubs... cute thatched pub in small village of Raby with a cute beer garden and plenty of outside seating. Cosey inside with a fantastic selection of ales and lagers. The beer is possibly the best on Wirral and the staff very friendly and look after u - on my last visit the barman insisted he poured me a fresh pint to replace the one I was currently drinking when I went to the bar to buy a second for my gf who was running late. It tasted fine, but he insisted as it was near the end of the barrel.

What a gem of a pub, if you can find it. Plenty of tables outside and plenty of space to park. Trappers hat a must from local brewery, but a good selection of ales and beer. Never had food, but what I saw a far price and portions. Well worth a visit if you can find it.

Sorry I love this pub. As a pub. Been going for years for the odd pint during a nice bike ride. But choosing to dine here despite the stunning dining room and friendly staff was a huge mistake. If you can even get a toasty to be edible something is seriously wrong.

Great staff and selection of ales. The bonus is excellent food. One of the widest selection of toasties in the North.

You need to visit to believe this place. 'The Thatch' is a wonderful country pub with good food, but also incorporates an excellent dining room (The Cow-shed). Friendly staff and a wide selection of ale and quality lagers. Please pronounce Mahou correctly!

The lunch menu is great and very high quality especially the club Sandwich or their toasties. I have been many times and the quality is still fantastic!! The staff are very helpful and friendly. 👍

Great traditional pub love a good pint of erdinger from here and the food is fabulous. Has a large free car park on site. Great location for walkers and bikers for a pit stop.

Lovely food, appeared to have a good selection of beers. Great old fashioned pub that looks like nothing has been altered since it opened. Tiled floors, wooden benches, low beams, quite charming. Lots of outdoor seating, plenty of parking, will be visiting again.

It's been quite a while since our last visit, just passing and popped in for a quick lunch. Ordered a cheese and ham toasties, where offered chips but declined. Just as well because when outr meal came it was more than enough. Our lunch was delicious will go back again.

First time back since covid. Bit disappointed that the toastie menu has been scaled back and there's no tuna available now - although the staff did explain the reasoning behind this decision. A good visit, on the whole, toasties were nice, but it wasn't quite the fantastic lunch-time treat I was hoping for and the chips were a little disappointing. Great welcome from the staff behind the bar and I'd still recommend this venue as a nice place for lunch.

Lovely quiet and civilised establishment, with plenty of parking in a peaceful part of the Wirral. No background "music" -- Wonderful! (This was on a quiet Thursday evening watching the Morris Dancers outside. I don't know if it's the same at other times.)

Best pub on the Wirral by far! The old cow shed. Staff are lovely and the location is amazing!

My first visit in 20 years. What a pleasant dining experience. Lovely welcome great Sunday lunch and attentive staff. The only teeny weeny bit of feedback is please put some sugar in the Berry Eton mess. It was a so tart it made my friend wince. But other than that 👍👍👍and really looking forward to returning soon. Well done 👏
