All I can say is wow. This hotel is clearly loved by everyone who works there. Rooms are immaculate, staff are helpful and hardworking, I felt they really wanted to lend a hand. Me and my friend stayed here for a couple of nights and had so much fun. Rooms are comfortable and the bar was stunning I will be returning ASAP

We wanted somewhere walkable distance from Liverpool FC stadium, being just over a mile away was perfect for us. Room was spacious and clean, and all members of staff were friendly and welcoming. Drinks at the bar were really cheap and could be ordered to our room. Couple of things to be aware of though, the room was as photos show on the website, we had a superior quad but it did show some signs of wear, there was a tile missing on the bathroom wall, a hole around a plug socket and the bathroom door was incredibly stiff, if we paid a low price for the room this wouldn't have bothered me but because my room was over £200 for the night(without breakfast) I didn't expect to see these kind of faults. The website says toiletries included so we didn't take any but actually it's shampoo and conditioner included. So take body wash with you. There's no mirror in the bathroom or hooks to hang towels and no toilet brush either. We ran out of toilet roll the morning we were leaving and couldn't find any staff to ask to for another one, we went down stairs a few times and the phone wasn't answered by anyone so I'd say that's the only slight issues we had in our two night stay. Would I stay there again? Yes I would. But I'd try and book far in advance to get a cheaper price. I'm not sure the £517 for two nights as advertised on their website was worth it. But I did manage to get it for £417 on last min.com. which helped.

Hotel was very nice, rooms where very tidy and modern. My only criticism would be the room types. I booked 6 rooms 3 standard and 3 deluxe doubles which cost more than the standard rooms. On check in we were given 6 room numbers, I then asked which 3 where the deluxe double rooms where I was the told there.is really no difference! So what did I pay extra money for?? All 6 rooms where pretty much identical unless I had a tape measure to see if there was an extra inch or two on the size of the bed. Left a little disappointed on what was otherwise a nice hotel.

The room had not been hoovered. We had to get help to put the heating on. There was no lid on the toilet, a broken rail of some kind & no shelves to put toothpaste, shaver etc. The bedside lamps were visibly dusty, there were no wardrobes, no drawers & no bin in the bedroom. I woke up at 12.45am to clearly hearing a conversation from above, Claire said "you didn't leave it in the taxi, did you?" And we might as well have been sat in the bar as we could hear everything. On a good point the staff were lovely, the bed was clean and the continental breakfast was the best I've seen.

We arrived early for check in and enjoyed a couple of drinks from the bar. We were able to check in earlier than 3pm as our room was ready. Lovely clean, bright and airy room with a fab bathroom and jacuzzi bath! The staff were fantastic and extremely welcoming! The barman opened the front door for us each time we arrived!! Breakfast in bed was an added bonus and a tray of delicious treats to start the day :) We will definately be back!

Stayed here on Friday 13th August. Greeted by the lovely Meg on reception, she made us feel welcome straight away, nothing was too much trouble...Meg got a iron to our room within minutes of asking and also arranged a Uber into the city. Meg gave us a insight to the surrounding area and more so the city. Great room, comfy bed and a great jacuzzi bath. Would stayed again 😃

Good visit, clean, staff friendly but make sure you read small print when booking. The hotel does not offer English breakfast nor sell food.

Very good customer service and very friendly staff. Rooms very clean. Bed is on the small side. And after staying here twice can see it’s incredibly frustrating how long it takes for you to get your room deposit back. 2 weeks + on both occasions. Not sure why that is.

Rooms were neat and clean. Had all the basic amenities you expect for the price. Location was great and complimentary breakfast was good too. Would definitely consider staying here again.

I stayed in this lovely hotel for a week, it was my first visit to Liverpool, as I had some work with the University of Liverpool.. the staff are exceptionally polite, helpful and caring especially Miss Meg, the rooms are clean and the house keeping is carried on daily basis, great hotel indeed, I wish them all the best.. The staff were really lovely and the bed was super comfy, the only complaint really is that the traffic kept waking me up in the morning but that’s not really the hotels fault just the location and the breakfast isn’t too appealing but overall a nice stay!

We stayed here for one night over the weekend in room 4. It was very clean and tidy. About 5 mins after getting into our room we had a knock on the door and two big glasses of bubbly was given to us kindly! The receptionist was lovely when checking us in and the boss seemed to be working hard to help us with anything! Our room had a massive 60+ inch TV with all of the apps and channels needed (thank you Badger for leaving your netflix signed in lol). Would definitely return!

Staff were wonderful, especially the blonde bartender Luis, he was amazing. Room was spotless and the breakfast hamper was spectacular, I especially loved the cute little jam pots All-in-all a nice cozy place

Room is very nice and thats all. Room service wasn't helpful to change bedding which was dirty and full of hair (not from head) disgusting! I had to ask twice to change sheets... clean one wasn't even ironed. Breakfast very poor, for two people only one crosant, one banana etc. No place to eat it, so not comfortable. Dirty dishes. I'm not going to visit this place any more.

Myself and my partner stayed here whilst visiting Liverpool for my 20th birthday. When we arrived i asked if there was anymore parking i was told no and to park my car as close to the planters as possible. There is no specific area for parking except for two allocated parking spots which I think were used up by staff anyway. I did not feel safe leaving my car there and ended up paying an extra £25 to park my car elsewhere for the weekend. The room was nice however the website states the beds are King, i would say they are more of a small-double. They were extremely uncomfortable and i didn’t sleep well at all. The website also states every room has a 55inch TV with Sky, we had a 55inch TV but no access to Sky TV, so another let down. When we checked in we were asked to give a card to hold £150 as a damage deposit, we were also asked if we wanted to add breakfast to our booking, we added breakfast for one morning to arrive at 8am, we specified that we would be leaving for a tour at 8.40am. The following morning our breakfast arrived at 8.35am in which we had no time to eat. We paid £25 for breakfast, it consisted of croissants, fruit and toast, not worth the money. When we arrived back at the hotel after our tour, i complained and asked for a refund i was told they would have to check with the manager, we never received an update after this. I emailed them regarding an update on a refund for the breakfast and the damage deposit, however i had no response for 4 days, it took for me to email them a second time and then phone them, for them to finally acknowledge me. We had a lovely weekend in Liverpool but this hotel ruined it for us, extremely disappointed for the price we paid. We won’t be returning, and certainly wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

Couldn't fault the staff, super helpful and friendly. and loved the location of the hotel, free parking and we walking into central Liverpool. Was slightly disappointed with the rooms, started with a "basement room" (budget) which was lovely and cool with large bed but had a broken toilet, so got upgraded into another room which seemed small, smaller bed and rather toasty, also had a stubborn shower that we thought we would break if we tugged any harder but a member of staff came and helped and said it usually very stiff. Think we got unlucky with the rooms but the staff were super lovely. couldn't complain much because the price was rather reasonable. with a bit of TLC on the rooms would've been 5/5. With a security deposit takes about 2 weeks to clear from bank account.

Really good hotel, the location doesn't do it justice. Never seen the rooms but reception and bar area are quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Booked under the Wowcher £59 1 Night with late checkout, Prosecco and breakfast. - I was told in the phone via on-site staff when trying to book I would receive an email within 24 hours, received a response 7 days later, so try to book in advance if you can. -Arrived for checkout and had the deluxe room I believe (jacuzzi bath), room was decorated nice, matching the vibe of the hallway however there were some odd fixings out of place, the bath had nail varnish scratches, large cobwebs on the ceiling and the yellow pillow on the bed had staining spots on. (None of these a major issue but I did expect slightly better) -no Prosecco on arrival, offered wine, explained dont drink wine but would take, never ended up getting wine(apparently our problem) -late checkout is 12, normal checkout is 11, went down and asked what time mate checkout was and she stated “11, can’t do late checkout as guests are having your room at 3” this is apparently against hotel policy, but manager states she is 100% sure her staff would not break this policy so is declining any form of refund etc -breakfast is 2 bowls of cereal, 2 packaged chocolate pastries, mango orange and and apple with some blue milk and 2 youghurts. Nice but again expected better. Just glad I only spent £59 on wowcher instead of the full amount, the only silver lining to the hotel, would have preferred (and will be booking for next time) a premier in or similar, to not be leaving disappointed. Can’t fault the bloke that worked the night and Meg was lovely on check in and during the day/night and this review isn’t based on how we were treated by those members of staff.

We had a great experience from booking with Marie to check in with Jacob and check out with Sophie. The room is a nice size, and the service made up for the little things that were missing, like a mini fridge and a bin in the room. The basket with toiletries, face masks, and goodies went down a treat with my little one. Breakfast isn't much of a breakfast, but service by Sophie was excellent. Overall value for money and not too far from the City.

Not good. Room was not at the hotel but was actually a flat, miles away in a run down part of town. The car park was miles away from the room, around the back of some dodgy estate with crack heads outside and stripped out cars. When we eventually found the room, there were dead rats outside the building and skips fill of rubbish. I even filmed a live, huge rat right outside the building at 6am after I was awoken by the noisiest Primark delivery driver who was crashing trollies without a care for over an hour. The room itself wasn't bad, except the sofa bed kept collapsing when you sat up which was very irritating....yes it was set up correctly. I think the worst thing overall was the complete lack of customer service and communication. No reception, no bar, no restaurant, nothing where we were staying. I've stayed all over the world in my 25 years of travelling, been to hotels in over 20 counties and hundreds of cities.....hands down, this is the worst place I've ever stayed!

Beautiful artwork ruined by overflowing rubbish bins. This is just one example. But it's everywhere. Liverpool council seem to do absolutely nothing about their disgusting litter problem and the locals just throw the rubbish on the ground or in the vacant blocks of land. Disgusting place

Lovely bar and has hotel style accommodation, great old building that has been refurbed throut, Ltd parking space, so first come, first served, food was, very good, and the manager and staff are, very nice and helpful, always, full when there is home game football as, close to both efc and lfc grounds, also about 10min from Liverpool City centre, recommend booking as, quite busy,.

Room decor was nice, otherwise, ok for the price that was offered. There is a 150 pounds holding deposit to ensure room is not trashed. Apparently it takes 3-5 days to release the money after you have checked out. Are the rooms not inspected immediately you leave? I assume they book in else person into the room while still holding your money. It’s just ridiculous.

***PEOPLE STEALING*** I travel pretty often for work and I had never experienced such a trauma. At one point I came back to my room to notice that all my things are gone. It turned out that they changed my room, which wouldn't be a problem. The problem was that I realized that some of my stuff was missing. Tracksuit, perfume and watch. I talked to the reception, filed the complaint and nothing was solved. Don't go there if you think you are going to save money, you are not!!! Ps: I hope they will give me my 150£ deposit back because what you see in the picture was not at all my fault. It's funny that I had to be the one paying the deposit, while it should me me compensated for the lost items

The hotel was smart and modern. The staff were great. The room was ok. We had room 1 which had no window and was loud from the fellow customers upstairs and in the adjacent corridor. The jacquzi element of the bath didnt work which was disapointing as we had requested a room with a bath for that purpose but to be fair I am sure it would have been looked at if he asked, but we didnt bother.

Room was great considering the price paid. comfortable size room comfortable bed and great shower which is all I wanted. Parking could be a challenge as I squeezed into the last spot and hardly off street parking. Dodgy area (it felt like to me but this was my first trip into Liverpool). Reception is done at the bar by a very disinterested lady. Carpeting in the hallway downstairs outside the rooms was wet from a leak but didn't affect the room and was mentioned and apologized for which was appreciated. Convenient location for an early ferry departure the next morning, but not sure I will do that again.

Like being in a prison with all the bars on the windows looking out onto a wall with Razor wire. Staff would not let us into the hotel until exactly 3pm , this was a 2 night gift but only stayed 1 night , the room was OK but carpets had not been hoovered glitter and sequins on the floor . Sorry did not enjoy at all ..

Stayed here to go to the match and its a lovely hotel. The rooms are very clean, modern decor and friendly staff with Anfield only a 10 minute walk away. My only criticism was that a continental & cooked breakfast is advertised and when we went down in the morning, was told that it was only continental and it wasn't worth it so we had to go to Costa down the road. Whilst this was annoying, I appreciated the honesty as I wouldn't have been too happy paying £15 each for cereal and toast. Would stay again.

Stayed here last weekend with my best mate for a girly weekend away. Whole hotel is gorgeous! When we arrived, they had live musician playing in the bar which was a nice surprise. Bar prices were pretty average with a good choice of drinks and lots of space to sit and chill. Room and bathroom were both lovely and very clean and the walk in shower was perfect. Room furnishings were great and plenty of space for both of us. Only criticism of the room was there were only two plugs, which made getting ready for our night out a bit tricky with hair straighteners and curlers etc haha but we managed and it can't be helped so. The best part of the entire stay were the staff. At check-in, Meg made us feel so welcome and was so friendly and helpful. The bar staff were great at giving advice on places to go to eat/drink/dance and helped with arranging taxis. All of the staff were 10/10!! Little bit further from from city centre but ubers and taxis were about £5/6 each way which isn't bad at all and no loud noise or disturbance from clubs etc so definitely not a bad location. Overall, really great stay with great staff. Really appreciate it! Thank you x

We stayed here last weekend for my partners birthday. I cannot thank the staff enough for the help they provided throughout to help surprise him with our friends being there and staying at the same hotel. They took a lot of stress off me on the run up to and during our visit. They provided us with drinks on arrival and decorated the room. It was so lovely. The hotel is so convenient as its close to town. The decor is lovely and the rooms were clean. All of the staff were so friendly. Im not going to lie, because of the star rating and the price, I was initially sceptical about what I had booked, but I would definitely stay again, I could not have asked any more of them. They went above and beyond, so I just want to say a massive thank you.

When we arrived myself and tish ( I’m in me mums car broom broom) we was created by Meg with such professional approach and made to feel welcome and relaxed! The rooms are amazing! We went to Liverpool to watch the game and when we came back we met other staff Liam and Marie and they were so most welcome and friendly and asked us if there anything we need and we felt so relaxed and happy! Such an amazing place with great lovely staff! Amazing! Fabulous! I could go on! If you looking for a place to stay in Liverpool then The Phoenix Hotel is just for you with lovely friendly welcoming staff! 100% we will be back! Thank you for a lovely, friendly and welcoming stay! We arrive at the check in time at 3 with the hotel front door shut and no one answering to the door bell. 10 mins later a staff come to the front door and says rooms are available after 1 hour. Rooms are not very new but staff are polite

Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Hotel was feezing, was made to wait 20minutes in the cold and rain. Was given a mini heated for out room behind the bar and overheated in our room so we had to give it back so therefor was left to freeze throughout the night. And was charged twice for out room. Definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone

I didn't like this hotel room. Reception on the stairs. The bathroom has several drawbacks. For example, the faucet was not well attached to the sink. Then they took a £ 140 deposit for two weeks.

Stayed here last night. Really enjoyed the stay. Hotel was immaculate room was really nice with large TV. Bathroom was large spacious with a really good large shower. Music was on in the evening and the staff were brilliant couldn't do enough for you even got invited in to town with them. Will definitely stay again!!!!

A couple of the staff were lovely but some were not especially the manager. Rooms were comfy but odd with no wardrobes ours just had coat hooks with hangers on.....if you came back with a wet coat there was nowhere to hang it. No cooked breakfast on offer as they don't have a kitchen so how did they prepare the continental offering? All in all I wouldn't recommend and certainly won't be returning.

Very clean and tidy, nice decor. The bar was very nice and the staff (one lady in particular but can't remember her name sorry) were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us, kind and polite. I would definitely book a stay here again.

Good atmosphere, great staff, reasonable selection of beers and wines. Just popped in for a quick beer and was pleasantly surprised. I've docked a star because the beer selection was not to my taste but don't let that put you off.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Booked pre Christmas 21 as a family break and cancelled by the Hotel less than 2 weeks prior to our stay .They then thought it acceptable to offer an alternative hotel , which happened to be in excess of £150 extra for a single night .. Plan to reschedule our trip later in the year but to an alternative establishment. Bitterly dissapointed by this hotel . 0 stars ..!!!!!

Very lovely hotel for a very reasonable price. Lovely continental breakfast in the morning served to your room on a tray, requested anytime from 8am. Staff were quite friendly and very accommodating and would definitely return if returning to Liverpool in future.

Stayed for 2 night's. .The rooms were nicely decorated and everything was clean. Nice finishing touches in the room. Fan provided Breakfast was excellent and presented well on a tray with lots of choice. Cereals, croissants toast, fresh fruit ,orange juice, cereal bars so much to choose from.Only issue was there was no coffee or tea with it and not enough suplied in the room to make one Staff helpful and polite Quite a way out of the city but direct bus routes and regular service so was able to purchase a day ticket to get in and out of the city. Only criticism was looking out of window into a yard that was full off rubbish from the room but was not there too long in daylight hours as too much exploring to do In the city.

Location is terrible. Have not had any sort of housekeeping services. I requested 2 times from the reception and they mentioned that they only change bed sheets and clean after customer leaves which is ridiculous to call this a “hotel”. Staff do not care about providing new towels or EVEN water! Requested many times but received nothing! Not so sure what I’m paying for, or even calling this a “hotel” - no mini fridges to store anything, no shampoo or shower gel provided, room is always freezing, carpet very dirty, very dark room and hotel. Too expensive for its worth!

Great hotel location if you are visiting Anfield, no more than a 15 minute walk away. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a great private bathroom. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 was the Wi-Fi connection in my room wasn't particularly great. Other than that, excellent stay.
