Never disappointed by the quality and consistency of tastes here! Don’t be deceived by it’s food truck appearance (and don’t be judgmental either!) as it provides authentic egg sando’s and even the chef’s personal spins on the tastes of Japanese influence. The pricing is fair in my opinion for the portion and tastes you get; they’re DElicious! I recommend going early to nab the classics and buying at least two to share; spread the love. A great place to stop by to pick up a snack or a fun visit for a group. There’s currently no seating, standing room only outside and beware to eat delicately!

We love this food truck for the delicious sandwiches that remind us of our time in Tokyo... they're authentic, delicious, consistent, and 5-star quality. Plus, the people who run it are so, so kind and wonderful. The short interactions with them always brighten my day. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They don't always have a daily special, but make sure to ask for it! This food truck is always on the list when we have friends visit Portland.

So delicious, fresh, and filling. I had the pork miso Katsu and flavours were amazing. I just found the pork slightly dry and tough. However, very friendly service and I want to go back and try all the other sandwiches!!

This food truck is worth the stop! Smaller menu with all options being high-quality staples. I enjoyed the Miso Katsu Sando last time I was here - it took around 8-10min to be ready. Sando was filling and had amazing flavor!

So so so good!!! The Miso Chicken Katsu Sando was super flavorful and insanely delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly, soft yet crunchy and the sauce on it was very tasty. The egg salad sandwich was great too!

Absolutely delicious! The chicken katsu is juicy yet krispy, the bread is soft and spongey, the sauces are tangy and delicious. I've been waiting for this cart to reopen for a while and it didn't disappoint! I tried the Miso Katsu sandwich and it was a 10/10.

Walked up to this food truck and took the sandos over to the river waterfront about a block away. Was a delicious experience and I would definitely go again! The tokyo curry pan Sando was insane but also a bit of a gut bomb since the whole thing is fried fyi definitely worth trying

I really REALLY wanted to love this place. There's really a difference in expectations vs reality here. We ordered ahead of time, arrived early and waited in line for them to open. We did everything possible to get the freshest product. However, everything was just not fresh feeling, looking, or tasting. We drove an hour back home after eating in the parking lot and won't be back. It's just nothing special, especially for the price. I took a bite out of each sando 10 yards from the cart and it tasted day-old.

Lovely people making a high quality product. Bringing some Japan to Portland. Meat and egg was all perfectly cooked. Expensive due to being a bit bespoke and fancy. Occasional splurge for a good cart lunch. Walk to Pine Street Market or Waterfront for good spots to eat.

The most delicious food I have ever had! Every time I have ever gone, I was always met with a warm wonderful smile and the most extremely friendly woman I have ever met! I am so thankful that I got the chance to enjoy them so many times before they decided to embark on this wonderful journey to Japan and I wish them nothing but the best! ❤️

Always fantastic, without fail. The sandwiches always taste exactly as great as they look. Texture, flavor, color, everything. If Tokyo Sando doesn’t return, I’ll understand. But it would be our loss.

if you are gonna give tokyo sando a one star review just because you couldn't plan your visit accordingly, then your ignorant self probably didn’t deserve to be there in the first place! tokyo sando holds a very special place in my heart. my boyfriend told me when the 4th season was announced that he would take me so i could try it. this was on our first date, we went at least once a month until the very end. every bite of my sando was as good as the first, so good that i always ordered the same thing! chicken katsu sando with black garlic <3 the only other item i tried was the black garlic miso soup, which felt like a warm hug on a cold winter day. the owners are so kind, and generous. they made us feel welcome whenever we made the time to visit, they treated us like family. i am so grateful that i had the opportunity to savor such delicious food. and i am hoping to try it sometime soon wherever they may go next. made with love always. arigato!

Tokyo Sando is the best Japanese sandwich spot in Portland. The owners are so kind and I’ve had almost everything on the menu and nothing has been short of absolutely amazing! Hoping they return to Portland one day! ❤️

Had to get some of everything! Karage was a get snack while driving to our destination. Went to forest park and then ate the sandwiches, both were amazing. The soup was perfect to keep us warm on the hike.

Super great food, this truck serves up authentic Japanese style sandwiches with vegetarian options in the heart of Portland. We went here for lunch and had the miso pork katsu as well as the chicken namban sandwiches. They were both distinct in flavor, and tasted very fresh. The bread is super soft and seems pretty high quality. All of the other ingredients taste fresh and well prepared. As far as the atmosphere, the wait is pretty bad. If you didn't pre-order, expect to be standing in a pretty desolate parking lot for an hour or more. The high quality of the food has led to high popularity. That means this business is selling out daily, so try to order ahead online if you can. Thankfully due to the crowd the area feels a lot safer than it usually would. Overall, it's a nice option at a reasonable price. I would recommend this, but only if you order ahead. I would expect it's not worth the significant wait in line for a lot of people, especially in more adverse weather.
