Great community resource... for free blueberries. This park is surprisingly well maintained for an area notorious for homeless activity. The blueberry orchard is mowed and pruned to make picking easier. Though the season is well underway, there are still lots of berries yet to ripen. Most everything at eye level is gone... but try kneeling, there are a lot of berries down low! Taller folks will have choice berries on top. But reach inside the bushes...there are plenty of berries hidden inside. I harvested a quart in 30 minutes.

We enjoyed finding this little park and free blueberries to pick. Late June and all of July should have berries available from what I can guess. Bring a basket, bucket or bag to put your haul into or just eat your bounty as you go. We will go back in a few weeks and see how the harvest goes then.

2022-August 3rd. I decided to come after a week of 90+ degree heat. There were many ripe berries in with many green berries. (See photos, sorry it's blurry but you get the idea) In an hour I got a decent haul. Maybe a pint? This time I went to the back of the park away from the play structures. There's a lot of unplucked bushes but also a lot of blackberry brambles mixed into them so watch out for that as you reach for a beautiful, plump berry. I would say to wear boots that go over the ankles so you don’t get grabbed by the thorny vines creeping low across the paths. There are also branches/sapling stumps that are waiting to scrape your legs if you're not careful. Lots of butterfly bush in bloom so look out for bees. The berries were so yummy. True old world blueberry flavor. 2019-July 5th. Great place to spend the afternoon picking berries and playing at the new play structure. The blueberries are not very ripe yet. The bushes have tons of green berries on them and I think in about 2 weeks you'll have tons of ripe blueberries to pick.

Free blueberry picking. We had a ton of fun walking through the blueberry bushes and picking as many blueberries as we could eat. Every community should have a park full of fruit.

Beautiful blueberry park. There were a few groups of people picking today and there were alot of ripe berries, but also a ton I different stages of ripeness. I'll be going back a few times int he next weeks for sure! Update 8/20/22: blueberries are ripe and the park is as beautiful and accessible as ever.

Blueberry park is a Tacoma treasure. The blueberry bushes usually have ripe berries around July, though they usually get picked over fairly quickly. The walking paths are very nice and there are shaded picnic tables on the south side of the park. The playground is small and is better for older kids, though the times we have been, it has been empty. There is also a community garden that looks well-used by its members.

This is a lovely park with paved walking trails. It's a smaller park but it has its perks. I came to visit in the winter so there was nothing on the bushes. I am assuming they are blueberry bushes. There is a lot of open space for picnics.

Love going here with my daughter! It’s dog friendly as well. We spent hours here picking and it was a nice bounding adventure for the kiddos! Lots of blueberries. I’m sure in a couple weeks there will be more and bigger berries. Be careful with the blackberries, wear long sleeve and pants cause the pokey vines are everywhere!

Tons of blueberry bushes, there are black berries as well, it's a nifty free activity and even when the bushes look picked over, there are still quite a few inside, and closer to the ground.

We often go bike riding to this park it's pretty peaceful for the most part and it's gotten clean and cleared out from what it used to be it appears that they've gotten it a lot more under control with the activity at night time I would say it's a good place to take your kids and they have a playground there now but it's still not a good place after dark that's a fact if I was a woman I would recommend walking in Pairs and not alone!!!

Blueberries galore!! Bring buckets and sun protection. We spent about 90 min and got 2.5 quarts of berries. We felt safe while we were there and enjoyed hearing all the kids running around singing and playing. When you get home and are prepping, be sure to let everything soak in salt water to kill any worms (they float to the top). This is our new favorite summer activity!

Huge blueberry farm with a variety of different blueberry strains. It is 100% free. They are open from sunrise to sunset. I would not suggest going at dusk. We went in the evening as the sun was starting to set because it was too hot to take our little one (one-year-old) out during the 90Β°+ weather. Dispite the fact we had flashlights. We had trouble seeing/picking ripe berries. When we got back to the car there were spiders and other bugs in my basket. Plus I think I accumulated enough misquote bites to ensure their species for quite some time. Other than that it was great. I love that it is a free activity to do with the family and kids of all ages. Don't forget BYOB bring your own bag or basket for your berries. We had a great time and we will definitely be back in the near future (during the daylight of course).

I kinda don't want to rate and review this place and keep it to myself lol, but I care about sharing resources with others so here we are.... this place is great. Blueberries of every variety for as far as the eye can see, blackberries have taken over a huge segment so you can get those here, too. There's a playground and plenty of picnic seating with tree cover. No shade near that playground though unfortunately. Parking is along the road but I've never had problems, it's very quiet and not very busy here. There's a community garden here too, but that's a separate thing.

This is such a cool park. It was a lot of fun to take our basket and go picking with the whole family. The berries are delicious and it's a great way to spend some time together as a family.

Great time to walk around and grab some delicious berries! Beware of wasps and bees, we found a pretty big paper wasp nest in the middle of one of the patches, but otherwise lots of options to grab, plenty are in season right now!

Fair amount of berries available. Difficult to get to the bushes in the center. I had no idea this was here & I will be returning often! I plan on bringing some cardboard or a step ladder to help to the hard to reach places. Paved path on the perimeter of fields. We had a stroller w us which was fine on the path but not able to get to interior bushes.

Amazing that this place exists! Season timing update: the blueberries are mealy and sparser than a month ago but still here if you don’t mind soft berries. Blackberries are surprisingly (too) firm/underripe. Go in July/August and it’s amazing!

Beautiful little gem tucked away. Quite a few locals I've talked to haven't heard of it even though they lived here their whole lives. You can go pick free blueberries in the summer from the thousands of mature blueberry bushes, I've seen everything from casual picking by kids and families, down to practically proffessional looking rigs with jugs and harnesses where people were clearly there to stock up!

It's okay. Very big but the blueberries are meh. Definitely wild bulebwrries at this point so they are small and some bushes are just blackberries now. Great area to walkthrough with lots of trees.

This is one of my favorite places in the Tacoma/Olympia area! We came today (7/26) and the blueberries weren’t ready yet. Correction (after an hour of picking): we did find some ripe blueberries, but most are not ready.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Definitely going to make this part of our adventures. Was great advice to wear boots for the brambles and long grass. Lots of fun, very busy on the weekend. Recommend going early before the heat of the day πŸ˜€

I think it was really quite a surprise at how nice it was. There are thousands of bushes. It is layed out in rows and is quite organized. They have a few benches and picnic tables to rest at along the way. And the harvest even in early September is amazing! Don't forget to bring a bucket to collect your bounty
