Smashing little pub. Very cosy and comfortable, serving a nice range of really good proper beer with a drink for most palettes. They also have an interesting range of snacks and sandwiches which I didn't try but I was tempted. There's a small outside seating area too and they are dog friendly. Recommended for a great pint..

The best micropub in town (maybe even the world). If I were Donald Trump I might say "It's terrific, really terrific." Thankfully, I am not Donald Trump. But what I am is a lover of all the places in life where you can go for a quiet drink with your friends and family, and enjoy their company and good conversation over some nice beers/ciders/snacks. As such, Hail to the Ale is the place to be for me.

Really friendly, great range of ales and ciders and good quality pub snacks to soak it up. We traveled down from Yorkshire to watch Under a Banner play an acoustic set there and the welcome was 'proper', the atmosphere just reyt and the whole experience a set of memories to treasure. Thanks for your hospitality, good folks.

I've been coming to Hail for years now. I know so many people (and gorgeous dogs) because of this little pub. I remember the days of 12 or more of us around a collection of tables but since Covid hit, I can honestly say Angela and Gary have done what is expected of them to be responsible publicans in these weird times. Please don't let the size put you off coming. Book ahead, bring your mask and all will be well. Please support this local gem. It's better as a pub to provide company to folks (at the necessary distances) than as a furniture shop or post office. Give it a go. You will be safe and should have an enjoyable escape from these strange times for a couple of hours. All the best Angela, Gary, Pete and Tom (and Brewster) xx

Fantastic friendly little bar with a wide range of amazingly kept ales (according to my other half)They also have ciders and wine available. Great range of bar snacks on offer served by a friendly Guy who really knows his ales. Lovely friendly vibe in quirky cosy surroundings. Great little place. X

Always an excellent choice of well kept local beers and ciders here. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. No actual food but there is a nice selection of old school bar snacks such as homemade scotch eggs and pork pies.

Another Perfect example of a proper pub. Phenomenal range of beer, cider and perry. Bar snacks avaliable but definitely not a restaurant. Diverse and friendly.

Cracking micro pub. Conveniently placed with a quiet friendly atmosphere. A great choice of beer and ale. Enjoyed a cracking cheese and onion cob and enjoyed the habanero chilli scratchings too. Will definitely be back. Real shame its not open on Mondays as our son had a scouts meeting round the corner then. Would be a great place to unwind for a couple of hours. Still can't have everything. Beautifully kept beers, comfortable setting, friendly bar keep. 5* all round 👍🏻

Hands down the best beer you will find in the area. Good Honest pub with really friendly staff and owners, always changing what beers and ciders they have so there’s always something new to try, and More reason to keep going back!
