I was part of a group of about twenty people invited to a carvery lunch here today. The service was excellent as was the food. We were all seated together up a flight of steps from the ground floor of the restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient. A very pleasant lunch in fine surroundings.

The place advertises itself as The Home of the Roast. The meal was very disappointing. The portion of meat was even smaller than the last visit. The veg were terrible. Boiled carrots, peas, onions in gravy, cauliflower in a white tasteless sauce. Stuffing seemed to have been microwaved. Only the potatoes were roasted. I will not be going back unless standards are considerably improved!!!

A comfortable place to dine in and have a great time; the food was good and the staff were very, very friendly as you would expect. The wait time was a bit long, however this is understandable since the venue was crowded at the time of our visit. Wheelchair accessible entrance and toilets, would recommend and would re-visit if I ever come back to the area

Great carvery, food delicious although if you like your food super hot, it won't be. On busy days staff struggle to keep up although they are all friendly and helpful if you do manage to catch them. Tables not cleared and cleaned quickly enough. Atmosphere is good and lively and friendly with a good mix of clients, all in good spirits

First experience at Toby Carvery. Heard some good things, can't say the food was terrible, it's almost like exactly what I expected at 4pm on a Sunday, value for money I suppose when you can pile your plate with food. We had to get own drinks from bar as no one came over to us. The issue was the standards, un clean areas which was worrying, dirty carpets, cluttered waitress stations. The outside area full of rubbish and even dirty nappies on the floor! The place could be so lovely if it was given a good scrub and the finer details looking at.

This was the best overall experience we have had in a long time at this restaurant. Seated straight away, queued for a while at the carvery servery but we knew that it would be busy due to the offer. Food was constantly being topped up so that everything was available and still hot. Our drinks were ready for us when we got back to our seats.

Had the famous carvery and got barely any meat, the stuffing looks like wet cardboard and tastes the same, the plates are antiques with stains all over them, Yorkshire was smothered in oil and the pigs in blankets are almost putrid. Only saving grace are the tatties and gravy. Used to love it here as a child, but I won't be going back. For the money you can get a miles better roast at most pubs

Reasonable price for delicious carvery menu. Unfortunately the approach and entrance had an overflowing ashtray bin, and litter scattered around. Probably animal action, but easy to keep clean.

I was greeted at the door by a delightful young gentleman named Joe. He was very welcoming and showed us to our sensational table in the library where we looked after by Leanne. Leanne was great and offered, arguably the best service I’ve ever received in a restaurant. I cannot wait to come back.

Meat prepared perfectly, not overdone like in other Toby Carveries. Great selection, no long waits, lovely friendly staff and great building/house. Easily the best Toby I have been to!

We came for my partners birthday meal. Everything was so tasty and as expected with so many options..the meats were cooked to perfection. The service we had was perfect too. I think her name was Leanne? Small lady with blonde hair. She was so lovely and happy and was so happy with everything. The pigs in blankets were lovely too. Will be coming again!

I went to Toby carvery on Tuesday night and I was waited on by James he was very lovely he seemed very cheerful and made our expensive here a lot more fun and joyful. They food was very lovely and James always made sure our drinks where full he was very delightful and kind. Will definitely be wanting to go back there again (especially if we could get the same waiter). Overall very lovely experience.

Had a weekday carvery for my sons birthday. Wasn't busy. Food was nice. Staff were helpful. Atmosphere was OK but we did have families around us that young children who didn't seem happy, I remember those days very well, but apart from that a very pleasant evening.

Warm welcome and quickly seated. All staff happy, friendly and served promptly considering it was busy. The only problem at the time was with the card payment machines so had to go to the bar to pay. No real stress.

First time visitor - Food was OK, quite generous for the price. The building and interior needs some serious attention which just made it feel grubby and neglected. It was an extremely hot day, and very few windows were open (no AC), so coupled with the long slow queue, it was not the most relaxing of experiences. It was very busy though with older generation and young families so they must feel it is good value for money.

Had a great evening, we sat down at just gone 7 on a Friday evening. Be prepared for a bit of a queue to get your carvery. Food was lovely and a great selection of veggies. Lovely building and had a great time. The Raspberry sorbet was amazing but was such a big portion, shared with my husband.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Clean and hygienic. Staff paying attention to details. Ready to help at any moment. Prices are decent and affordable. We had a shared dish.ordered some more too. Thefood is something unique that I have always loved and enjoyed, and if there is a good chef who knows how to cook it, then the mix is amazing.I recommend this restaurant and for sure I'll come back when I'll be in the area.

Just had a delicious roast dinner at Whitewebbs Toby Carvery. It was a busy Sunday as usual but the food, service and atmosphere were all great. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The staff were all professional, helpful and friendly.

The waitress and waiter were lovely and gave us a warm welcome. We were directed to a large table positioned in a bay window and the sun was quite blinding. Another table wasn't offered (probably because we were a party of 12 people) and we were just told the sun would move in 15 mins or so. Luckily we were able to place a babies blanket across the window for some relief. I had a regular carvery which was warm and quickly served. However the portion of meat I was given was very small. Smaller than the children's! I also found all of the veg tasted very bland. Even the gravy was lacking flavour. We also ordered a portion of chicken nuggets for a toddler and was shocked that a tiny plate of chicken nuggets cost £5.99. (No chips or veg on the plate.) In all it was pleasant and I would go again but not sure I would go for the carvery.

I loved the atmosphere and the friendly and professional staff. The vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy were delicious. I wish there would have been chicken on the menu as I do not eat red meat and not so keen on turkey. So I had salmon cooked’in a bag’ instead which was overcooked and very dry I returned it. The waitress was nice about it and agreed it was no good. I got another one which was delicious but it took a while to come - by which time I had eaten most of my vegetables. I love the restaurant grounds and would come again.

It was an unplanned first visit here. It was a lovely evening so enjoyed being outside in the big garden space. I had the roast dinner. It was ok. I didn't take pictures. I would have expected more meat in the plate seeing as you couldn't go back for more. You can only go back for more vegetables. Might go back to give a proper review and see if it's any better.

The food was great although the temperature of it could have been hotter. My dad wanted to have his food reheated in the microwave and we had to ask a member of staff to do this. Whitewebbs has so much potential, if only you could do some refurbishment on it, that would make it an even better place to eat. I noticed the speakers high on the wall were extremely rusty and wires were hanging out. The place needs a bit of TLC basically.

We have been to so many Toby’s and yours is by far the very best. Everything is cooked perfectly, has so much taste and lovely chefs and staff members. Your quite a distance from where we live but it’s worth the drive out. I cannot recommend you enough.

I’ve been meaning to write a review since Xmas. I’ve been in twice since then and keep forgetting but after my meal today I feel I must say that Alex always welcomes my wife and I with genuine pleasure and the rest of her staff are hard working and lovely.

👍👍 Very lovely old historic pub with loads of character. Nice and cosy with the low ceilings and open fire, complete with the very well loved local dog (who clearly runs the place). Mum, dad and daughter staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and the food was also very good and wholesome. The...
