The kettle had hair in it. The TV volume kept going off so I had to keep turning it on and off to get the volume back. Shower kept going scalding hot then ice cold. No air con in the room and the fan was of no use as it cut out after a while and did not come back on. The carpet was grubby, the sink was dirty and the toilet unclean. The windows trapped my fingers trying to open them as they were not gliding smoothly. The carpet in the lift is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen smelt awful. All in all, this was the worst stay I have ever had in a hotel. I booked for 2 nights and stayed only one as I did not feel I could stay there any longer. When I checked out the following day the receptionist did not even ask why I was leaving a day early or whether or not I enjoyed my stay.

I used this hotel's Events space to celebrate my 60th birthday party. Initially the service was not good but then my event was taken over by Michelle who was very thorough. However the dinners prepared and served were not fit for consumption and I am in the process of taking this matter to the small claims court.

Remember to use HotelTully.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. They compare thousands of booking web sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the most well known in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be disappointed. I attended a wedding at the hotel. Event space was stunning. Parking was very easy. The property is blessed with beautiful setting and grounds. Staffs were really welcoming and helpful. Food was great and served quickly. Highly recommend.

I have rented the room for people who came to my son's wedding. They all like the facilities at the hotel rooms and the breakfast served. Location is more convenient for them to commute to places they liked.

A problem with parking - but fantastic that they sorted the problem out for me. I went there to attend a meeting. Two weeks later I got a a parking fine in the post The hotel sorted this problem out - it's a long story but it wasn't my fault that I couldn't enter my registration number. Big thanks to Best Western Chigwell for sorting this out.

We hosted our daughter's Asian wedding reception at Prince Regent Chigwell. The staff at Special Events team were so friendly, helpful and responsive. The venue was majestic on the day, perfect setting with plenty of car parking for our guests.Would not hesitate in recommending it as a wedding venue and will cherish fond memories made.

Venue suited our function. Room size on point. Bar area could have been a bit clean, as in the counters. Staff were very helpful overall. Executive bedroom was good for purpose. Bed was cosy and room was clean. Perhaps a fridge would be helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. Met an amazing manager, did not get her name. I was feeling poorly in the morning. She attended to me with water, vitamin c tablets and peppermint to inhale. I wish I knew her name so I could thank her. I will call reception to do so. I enjoyed my stay.

My wedding took place in this hotel in June, the lead up was very smooth and the events team was very helpful in particular Karin. After speaking to my guest who stayed at the hotel I am deeply embarrassed. Firstly there was a long queue at check in, only one person on check out when the hotel was aware that my guest would be checking in at 3pm to get ready as my wedding started at 4pm. Many of my guest waited 45 mins to check in. My father even complained at the time and told the reception to speed things up. Secondly, we had paid extra to hire out the pavilion area for the ceremony and champagne reception, on arrival we found hotel guest were seated in our private area and we had to call the duty manager to ask the area to be cleared. There was also rubbish of plastic cutlery and cups from a previous event on the grounds which had not be cleared. The rooms were dirty, the water was extremely hot to shower. One guest told me she opened up the sofa bed to find dirty sheets and hair. Another one of my guest who I had an exclusive rate was charged full price for her room. I was charged for 2 rooms on my credit card despite being told that the card details were just to secure the rooms and under no circumstances would they be used at check in. I have spoken to the hotel regarding this matter and not satisfied with their explanation. Please save yourself the embarrassment and avoid this venue if you are looking to get married!

Slept well in the room as nice a quiet with no typical hotel noises in the room and a good temperature. I loved the stain glass windows but was actually too afraid to leave my window open for fresh air overnight as I normally would as there appeared to be an area below my window which people light fires/eat etc and as a solo traveller this worried me. Hotel staff were ok but nothing exceptional and it was a very long walk to my room so may well be an issue for some, especially with lots of luggage.

Very nice small hotel. Has car park and also have halls to hire for occasions. Have visited for boxing events and parties, always had a good experience here.

Stayed overnight for a work do. No hot water in the shower. We had to attend the function without. Next morning ask the staff and was told we had to walk to the other side of the hotel to an empty room to take a shower???? We couldn’t be bothered to go in our bare foot across the hotel to take a shower so decided not to. When we checked out, no apology from the staff, they act as if nothing had happened. I would never stay here again and certainly would not advise my company to use them again. Terrible experience!!!

Such a stunning building. Rooms were lovely but no air con so sweltering. Nice outside areas to sit and chill, menu quite varied though didn't have food apart from breakfast which was just "okay". Staff really need more skills in customer service and pay more attention to detail. And cleanliness around the staircases and ladies toilets poor. Needs a bit if an upgrade to make this hotel even more pleasing

Went to wedding venue held in one of meeting rooms and it was very small and crowded. I was told that that room was £12k to rent on one of the weekend days and £4k for a weekday.

Staying at the Culinary Retreat Inn was a feast for the senses. The inn's culinary offerings were a highlight, and each meal was a gastronomic delight. Our room was comfortable, and we could savor the aromas wafting from the kitchen. The innkeepers' passion for food and local ingredients added an extra layer to our visit. This is a haven for food enthusiasts.

Our stay at Mountain Majesty Retreat was simply awe-inspiring. Nestled in the embrace of towering peaks, it offered a sense of grandeur and wonder. Our lodge room was spacious and had a balcony with panoramic mountain views. The hosts were warm and provided invaluable tips for exploring the nearby trails. This is a place where the mountains stand as sentinels of time.

Staying at the Historic Waterfront Mansion was like living in a page of history. The mansion's architectural splendor and period furnishings offered a window into the past. Our room was elegant, and we could gaze at the waterfront from our window. The innkeeper's knowledge of the mansion's history added depth to our visit. This is a place where history's echoes still resound.

Lovely lady Shelley at reception was excellent. She was pleasant and very helpful. Staff at the breakfast were also very good. But the bar staff need more training. There was a very high step from the bedroom to the bathroom. The water from the shower ran down the step onto the bedroom carpet. That needs to be sorted. Shower should be enclosed to correct this. Lovely comfortable bed.

Attended a wedding reception. Seems to be the place to celebrate. There was a young barman, Beni from the hotel bar. He was knowledgeable and quite funny. I wish him well in the future.

Rooms are average, bit of mould on bathroom ceiling and few stains on carpet. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. Wifi speed of 4mbps is completely unacceptable in 2023 for a £120/night room in London. Was not strong enough to even attend online meetings. I had better wifi while on a cruise in the south pacific. Hotel reception said to use data hotspot on phone, but this too was poor due to thick walls. On the second night of our stay the car park was full due to 2 wedding events so had to park on the busy road. Parking should be prioritised to hotel guests. Extra star given for breakfast which was good, otherwise would not stay here again.

Stayed July 27th - August 9th 2023 This hotel is a diamond in the rough; you can tell that the carpets and chairs are a little worn and need updating. Hopefully, with the takeover of Best Western, these items will be taken care of, but what they lack in updating, they make up for in room quality and amenities and the warming, caring nature of the staff. Pros: * Close to public transport to the city * Close to places to eat * Clean, updated rooms * Large-sized rooms for England * Friendly, warm, caring staff * Delicious full English buffet Cons: * Carpet and chairs in hallways and common areas are run down and need updating * Numerous weddings and the wedding attendees can get loud, and the children from the weddings are running around slightly unruly.

The best hotel staff ever! Everyone is soo friendly and professional. Roxanne, Harvey, Jack, Beni helped us during our stay and they looked after us well. We had our wedding there in September and Michelle was our main point of contact and honestly, she is so patient, helpful, considerate and so accommodating. The constant emails I was sending because of this or that and she just sorted everything out for me!!!!!!She is the best!!! Thank you to Dani and Ipek to for helping with last minute issues 😉

Great hotel, staff are amazing, friendly and super helpful, great service across the board, really good food in the restaurant also, my only minor reservations are that there are no mini fridges in the room or air conditioners though they do have desk fans. Otherwise, would highly recommend staying here or even having an event as their events team (particularly Michelle) was nothing sort of excellent.

Nice hotel everything was good till I had breakfast and come owt to my work van not being in the car park where I left it. Still had the key. It was a Mercedes’ sprinter so if you need your van again don’t park it in their car park.

on fri 1st we attended the joiner xmas party i was very disappointed the food was microwaved we was given gravey when our meal was finished, no diet drinks on table, wine wasn't nice. waitresses very disorganised no one new what the next person was doing. the room was so crowded that walking around had to climb over chairs no room. concern if there was a fire it would be unsafe. DJ don't get started his music was rubbish even though he was of age he thought he was at a rave weekender he didn't cater for the crowd thought he was at a rave. we requested a song a which was dismissed. could not get on the dance floor as space was overcrowded. do not recommend this event to Anyone

I was there for Christmas dinner and dance with my friends. The roast dinner was pathetic, cold and burnt. The DJ was even worse. He was not mixing the songs and was a pro in killing the vibe. I would not return or recommend

Stayed for one night, but the room was too warm for me and could not open the window. The room was very well laid out, and the bed was very comfortable. A very nice hotel to stay at.

Staff where helpful with needs as requested. Absolutely horrendous WiFi , here for two days I can’t get on conference calling nor upload clips to my website. £10 per day to park. Nice size rooms. Wouldn’t stay here again if your WFH .

Visited for a wedding party, parking was free for visitors of booked location, you enter car reg at computer and choose length of stay. Be careful though, because parking spots are tight. The hall was well decorated and maintained, and though there were around fifty tables seating ten, the hall didn't feel cramped, and you had a good view of the main stage. Lights were ample, but not bright, though some were flickering, making you feel you had just been captured on camera. Outside caterers were used, so not sure if they have in-house catering team on offer. Nice centre pieces, each table slightly different but meeting the same theme... And more importantly felt clean, not holding hidden spiders like some venues. The reception area outside of hall has a nice area for initial drinks and platters, and stairs lead up to the all essential bathroom area. Not sure if there was lift access, sorry. Place was bother warm not cold, so perfect in your party dresses!!

I've used this hotel for work a few times now. You can see that it was something special in its hay day, and whilst those days may be gone its still convenient and acceptable. Prices are reasonable, some rooms could do with a refresh but I've never had any disastrous stays. Parking is available and free. I'd class this as a premier inn equivalent if that makes sense. Good for work and getting your head down. Breakfast is good but I've not eaten anymore here so can't comment more than that.

Went for a cream tea. How can a hotel this big only have 1 blue badge parking space and then allow someone who does not have a blue badge to park there? Staff and service were great. Food not so much. Sandwiches were fresh and plenty of them. Scones warm but shop bought. Cakes were also shop bought. For a hotel of this standard the cream tea was very disappointing. Wouldn't go again.

Lovely rooms but say ni air con on an extremely hot day. That wouldn't have been so bad of the staff paid more attention and had some personality. The whole building and grounds is beautiful. However, I wasn't impressed on the level of cleanliness especially going down from the restaurant to the toilets

Marked as free parking when we booked and was a reason for booking. As we arrived told we had to pay for parking - so what no big deal, I expect it in London. Got to the room by a very convoluted means - lift not working.... Telephone does not work, promptly changed, went out for evening and got back to find that wall socket next to bed has no power, remote control for TV does not work but then cannot get through to reception. No answer even when I ring on mobile as a potential new customer. What if I had some emergency... Seriously... Shower was broken but made do as no point ringing reception. Only 1 towel between 2, normally get 2 towels wherever I've ever stayed. Breakfast limited but good with good service and did redeem this place. Also one of the managers who was quite helpful when we were trying to work out whether we were in the LEZ or not. In fairness if you want somewhere for the night it's fine.

Great venue for wedding! We were at the princess hall, very spacious and comfortable. Outside garden area is beautiful on a clear day. Staff were very helpful throughout. Access to kitchen and cloakroom also and venue was available from early on. Amazing time thanks 😊

I stayed here in November 2021. They were not cleaning the rooms at the time because of the pandemic. Not great if you are staying a week. The breakfast is very good and the staff around breakfast time are exceptional - lovely, chatty and welcoming. Reception staff are also very accommodating. Location is not great for London as it is a couple of miles to the tube station. I never faced a problem as I always rent a car. There are many convenient restaurants and shops nearby. I've stayed here maybe four times - just out of nostalgia. It is aging and getting through the pandemic has been hard. The room rates are incredible value for money off peak. Just as an update post Covid, your room isn't serviced everyday, one needs to request that the night before. Some people may prefer that, but best to know in advance.

What a lovely place to stay with friendly staff. The service we received from all staff was amazing, especially from the Manager Veronica, Receptionist Naoni, All bar staff and House keeping Norma. I want to say a big thank you for making our day special. I would recommend this hotel for event hire and stay. Love the Alexander's family. ❤

This Hotel was one of best one I have stayed at so far and I been many bW Hotels in Uk and USA. The Customer Service is on a high level people are caring and helpful. Room was very nice and also they give us complimentary breakfast which really nice of them. I would stay here again if I come back to London. Great Job Prince regent !

Lovely building and grounds. Good sized room, massive bed and a comfortable mattress. Decent sized bath and a great rainforest shower. But - sounds from other rooms very obvious so best for someone hard of hearing… I’ll fitting doors so conversations/bathroom fans/toilet flushing/banging doors from other rooms gave disturbed nights. No traffic noise though!

We had our registry and reception here last weekend. We picked the venue as it is a beautifully converted building with original features local to us and they have a wonderful gazebo on the grounds. On a clear day, it looks extremely charming and thankfully we got lucky in November. The hotels rooms we were allocated were all very clean and simple in style but modern enough. It is clearly a popular venue as it was difficult to find a date that could accommodate us but we’re so glad we persevered. We opted for the dry hire of the duchess and regency suites as it was too late in the year to have a ceremony in the gazebo. The best thing about this venue is the people that work there. From the cleaning staff to the bar staff to reception to the event and operations staff, everyone was extremely professional, efficient, and just wanted to ensure we had a stress-free time. Oana and Sophie in the events team have been our go to persons and they are both extremely experienced so you can rest assured your event goes smoothly. They were on hand to answer all queries quickly leading up to the day and it was reassuring to know that they were taking care of everything behind the scenes. Oana in particular has the patience of a saint and deserves a massive raise! Whilst I cannot fault all those involved in helping to make our day special, there are a few small things to consider when choosing this venue that I think might be helpful to know: 1. Parking is complimentary for guests and those attending events however the signage can be mis-leading and needs to be much more prominent. We had repeatedly warned our guests to register their cars however some having failed to do so, have been caught out. Parking is also limited but there are plenty of free spaces on the streets surrounding the hotel. 2. The lifts are extremely small and to get to the higher floors, a separate lift on the other side of the hotel was required. Guests with accessibility issues may want to consider requesting rooms which do not require this. 3. There are no fridges in the hotel rooms so guests that may want to store milk for babies will need to make alternative arrangements. 4. There is limited storage space in the suites and if another event is on the night before, it may be difficult to store anything you are bringing with you such as alcohol or favours. 5. The suites themselves do appear slightly dated without any décor but can certainly be jazzed up quite easily and the chandeliers are beautiful. A change of the carpet in these areas will elevate the event spaces immeasurably. The bar areas also look a bit dated but are fully functional with enough space, fridges and sinks.

Hotel was OK, Reception were friendly. Stayed here as they allowed Dogs in (£15/night extra) 28th - 30th December, £220 + £30 dog charge. First room we couldn’t stay in as there was a very strong smell of something gone off. Reception were very accommodating to this though. 2nd room was OK. If it’s windy you can’t have the windows fully closed otherwise it howls. Our room was furthest away from Reception. To take the dog for a pee it’s ~5 minutes walk including long corridors that remind you of The Shining including 2 different lifts. Everything at this hotel costs extra when you’re here: - £10/day to park on site (if you can find a spot) - £5 per tray service to your room (even for complimentary drinks) - £20/hour for every hour you stay after checkout - £15pp for Breakfast Despite COVID being over your rooms are not serviced for “long stays”. We stayed 2 nights and didn’t get any new sheets, towels, tea or coffee. This can be requested though.

In December 2021, I stayed at a hotel that was not cleaning the rooms due to the pandemic. Although the breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming, the location was a bit inconvenient. It was about two miles from the nearest tube station. I had no problem, however, as I always rented a car. There were many restaurants and shops in the vicinity, which was convenient. I have stayed here a few times due to nostalgia, but it is aging and has struggled through the pandemic. The room rates were great value for money, even off-peak. Post-Covid, one needs to request for their room to be serviced the night before. Knowing this in advance is important for those who prefer the room to be serviced every day.
