We picked a beautiful day to visit my favourite Lea Valley White Water Rafting Centre. Great for a Sunday afternoon walk with plenty of things to see and of course you can always book to do some white water rafting. Looks so much fun!

We paddle at Lee Valley on a Wednesday Evening with the Lee Valley Paddlesport Club which offer sessions for beginners on the lake as well as white water courses on the Legacy and Olympic courses. We started paddling with Whoosh Explore Canoe Club in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire which is a great place to have an introductory paddle on the River Stort and Lee and then encourage paddling development on moving water at the centre. The legacy course is a step up from other white water centres like the Nene White Water Centre so we try and get paddlers confidence up on the bottom of the course first. LVPC meet on Wednesday evenings and are running Sunday mornings over the summer.

Beautiful open space alongside Canals. Great place for both nature enthusiasts, adventurers, young and old, also great for family picnics, birdwatching, cycling and dog walking

Fantastic first experience for my two children (9 and 8). The water centre is a hidden little gem that is well maintained to high standards! Charlie was the instructor for the session and he was great! My kids took to him from the get go due to his very friendly, helpful and engaging delivery methods (a credit to the centre!). The cafe and sand pit was an additional bonus as we were able to pickup post activity ice cream and my youngest have a little play before we left (free car parking for 4hrs as long as your car is registered at reception).

Great to visit even if you don't get in the water! Half a dozen of us used the White Water Centre as a halfway point between us all and it was perfect for a walk around, a bite to eat and to watch what was going on! The bar and food was great - especially the burgers, wraps and sides out on the terrace. Then you're straight out either for a walk around Lee Valley up the canal or around the water course itself - interesting to see it without water in it too! A great place to chill out and relax with friends.

I went to Hertfordshire to visit the wonderful Barclay parkrun, in Barclay Park in Hoddesdon. Looking on the map I saw that Lee Valley White Water Centre was nearby. I know a man back in Kent who is forever making the journey to use the facilities there, and I decided to have a look myself. What a superb, world class, facility. Although I have only dabbled with canoeing and kayaking, it was fascinating to watch the activity. The bar and café and terrace are top drawer, and you can have your/my decaffeinated oat latte on the terrace as people come up the conveyor belt, paddle past you, then make their way down the rapids to ground level. Given its proximity to Junctions 25 and 26 of the M25, it is somewhere I might well visit for a break from driving in the future. Affordable parking, and a warm welcome for non participants

Exceeded expectations. I was a little skeptical of a man made, quite small looking setup, but it was excellent. Very well run, great dose of adrenaline, so much fun. Also a cute bar upstairs. Highly recommend

A top facility (Olympic Canoeing Park) with fantastic support facilities (cafe, bathrooms, access and full roaming for videos). Staff are extremely safety conscious. Experience was fantastic and lasted a very long while. A circular track approx 4 swells. They have a few different outings based on ferocity and this was the recommended medium setting for first time attendees.

It was amazing to watch the people rafting. Lots of good viewing spots. Everything stops for lunch (understandably) & the food & drinks area is good value & comfortable

Kayaking park and play is great! Especially if there's no rafts. The taverna on the terrace is good for a drink and food, and the cafe is pretty good too. This is a great facility and legacy of the 2012 Olympics. A range of activities are available for all the family. Take a visit to the water sports shop above and below too!

A very enjoyable experience white water rafting with my family. Our instructor was very friendly and reassuring and the rapids were very fun. I couldn't stop laughing when my sisters fell out of the boat. Even when one of us did fall out there was someone nearby on the side ready to throw a rope if needed. A great time would 100% recommend

I had a rafting experience as a surprise birthday present. I was hoping for a book a a cuppa...but no! Instead all kitted up, we head for the raft. As there were only two of us, three instructors came Rory, Ty and Josh. They were fabulous, I had the best time ever. I laughed and screamed in equal measure, I also drank a fair bit of the water. Being someone who likes to be in control I had none. I can not recommend highly enough. Wonderful facilities, amazing fun and brilliant staff. As for my son, I have words but none of the above.

Great facilities. We were there to watch the kayak world championships, which was a very well organised event from a spectator point of view.

This place was real good fun. We did the rafting in a boat of 9 and it was a lot of fun. It can get quite vigorous at times but was great fun all around. The water wasn’t as cold as expected and this is obviously helped with the wetsuits

Did rodeo rafting with a few friends. Great to do something different on a crisp October day. Outside terrace is nice but cafe needs a little improvement - no oat milk, no apple juice and had run out of quite a bit of food by 3pm Sunday.

What a great well organised and clean facility. White water rafting was great fun, with plenty of staff around the course and on the boat, which made it as safe as it could be.

Great white-water course, legacy for beginners and the Olympic course for the more experienced. You need to book to be assessed first. Lovely water quality.

First time went here for a birthday party to do Water wipe out and have lunch too. Parking was free for 8 hours prob because of party but the WiFi is terrible inside reception. It's very relaxing though and there is also sand here which is nice.

I visited here ss a surprise for my hubby who wanted to go kayaking for the first time. The price was very reasonable. There is white water rafting or a quieter area. The lady who looked after the group was really nice and helpful. She showed them what to do and really helped my hubby. He said it was fantastic. There are seats where you can be a spectator and a cafe for food and drinks. I would recommend you take your own as it was expensive

White water rafting or other experiences available. Loads of parking and easy access for everyone. Cafe / coffee bar upstairs. Lift available. Register your car at the desk for 4 free hours parking. Plenty of viewing areas if your not taking part to take some photos and laugh or relax. Very reasonable prices for the experience. On this occasion white water rafting. Friendly staff and instructions. If you are taking part bring a towel, change or clothes for after and some swimwear. Toilets and showers provided. Lockers big enough for a medium bag provided for free. All necessary equipment is provided to a good standard. For the price and experience as a group I would recommend. If it's two of you are one you will be grouped together with other people which does not take away from the experience. This is a relatively low impact sport but if you have pre-existing medical conditions or injuries you will have to sign a disclaimer. You can get some bumps and bruises and don't expect this to be an injury free experience. Albeit just minor stuff. Overall I would recommend

Had a fantastic time whitewater rafting. We took our 13 year old son and he loved it too, it was really good fun. We were given clear instructions and felt safe at all times. So brilliant to jump in for the swim test on what was a really hot day!! Would recommend this place for a thrilling day out and we hope to return with a few more people next time 😊
