Had a lovely walk in Epping forest from one end to the other. Beautiful forest and tress. Really enjoyed it with today's excellent weather. Highly recommended. Seems to be excellent for cyclists as well who were out in considerable numbers.

Always love taking a stroll through the forest.its a welcoming place every day through the year. Epping forest is so wide spread with many entry points and each spot is a treat to go through. Lovely ponds and variety of terrains to enjoy whilst you take a walk or a bike ride.

Went on the Willow trail, past the lake and through the forest. A really enjoyable walk, not too long or short, well signposted with arrows at regular intervals to make sure you stick to the trail. The lake was so clear we could see the fish, and there were lots of pretty damsel flies around the lake.

Always lovely to have a day in the woods. Its been my first time in epping forest and I loved it. Many different routes you can take. Hiking shoes recommended for muddy areas or if you go off trail, if you stay on the path trainers are fine too. Ghis forest is still full of wildlife and very peaceful, not overcrowded like other parks etc.. I recommend bringing your own picnic :) we walked around 25KM and have not even seen half of it. So we will definitely come back for more.

The forest runs for miles, many bridleways. It is a forest and not a park, so nature is always changing and a delight at any time of the year. Car parking has to be paid for in a number of the car parks. Get a map and explore, either on foot, with the dog, on horse back or on a cycle.

The hundreds of years of history mingles with the desire of reconnecting to the natural roots and embracing true living. The forest is majestic, and it's a must on anyone's list. Perfect for running, walking, adventuring, etc. Wildlife is protected, and the scenery is majestic. Wild cows, ducks, geese, horses, and dogs ate only a few examples of animals that live in these parts. There are benches and tables for picnics and short stops whilst in a 'adventure'. Definitely recommend it!

We are so lucky to live 30 minutes from this beautiful natural place. Well maintained by City of London. It is always good when we visit places like this to make sure we don't leave any rubbish behind.

Such a beautiful forest. So vast. You have to be careful how far you walk as going in too deep could get you lost. So if you don't do walking regularly then stay within earshot of the road and you'll be fine.

Once the hunting grounds of Queen Elizabeth the first, in fact her hunting lodge still exists on the Chingford side of the forest is now a haven for cyclists, hikers, dog walkers, and those who just enjoy the great outdoors. The forest contains many historical trees including a birch close to High Beech which is over 400 years old. High Beech offers a cafe and pub serving good food and beverages, and a place to break up your walk. In addition to its historical trees, the forest has a large selection of fungi and toadstool varieties to spot during the Autumnal months.

If you need a nature escape this place is just on spot, we came to finally check out this forest and of course pick up some trash to keep it a safer place for the animals. We managed to spot some deers as well which was like out of a fairy tale. Parking available and it’s a great spot for fishing as well!

A lovely family friends place to enjoy a summers walk. Plenty of areas of shade and multiple car parks / routes along the way. Make sure you aren’t spending on your phone as there are many areas without signal. Take plenty of water and snacks, enjoy the walk and discovering the gems of the royal forest.

I cycled across Epping Forest. Very nice road and thick woodland both side. It was beautiful and scenic. On the way a Shell gas station and there a shop where we can buy snacks and basic utilities for picnic.

Beautiful forest, whether you wanna walk alone or go with your family friends for picnic, bike ride etc. Worth visiting, several trails. You can always get free map from tourists information centre.

What a great place the football pitches are. Watched some Saturday morning football. Then a athletic club relay event. Bought some cake from the running clubs cake sale in aid of #maggiescharity. I had an awesome day

The most beautiful and vast ancient forest with lots of different lodges to start from, and trails to walk (including easy and accessible ones). So much variety and beauty. Perfect for kids, dogs, solo walks, and picnics.

A wide beautiful forest to go for a walk, the trees the grass the leaves, very beautiful but you really need to know your way you can easily get lost.

Lovely place to go for a family walk, really clean and quiet. If you are lucky you can grab an ice cream from the ice cream van in the car park. As some people commented, you can find occasional dog waste on the trail where owners could not be bothered to clean it up. Regardless definitely recommended.

Great place to walk your dogs. Although be careful of bikes flying down some tracks. Other than that, it's a great place to let your hair down a be a big kid yourself and climb some of the fallen trees, build little tree huts, and generally have good old-fashioned fun.

Walking around connaught waters is as absolute pleasure. It is so beautiful whatever the weather and there's always plenty to see. This time was even more exciting when we came across the wild cattle foraging amongst the bushes!

Great nature just a short distance from the North of the city. Good access and great space to have outdoor fun.

Much-loved forest, easy to reach out by public transport, very convenient for hiking and cycling. There were quite a lot of visitors on weekend, but you can go into the heart of the forest and enjoy silence and serenity. Internet was poor sometimes, so it’s better to keep your maps downloaded offline not to be lost.
