Lovely, clean, spacious room. Lots of character and original features in a grade II listed building. Great views to the clock tower and hustle and bustle of the high street below. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The team at The Bell are friendly, professional and welcoming. The accommodation is in a prime location in the centre of town. Excellent value for money. Overall I couldn't have been happier. Thanks! ☺️

Stayed for a night while traveling for work and would really recommend. The room was pretty nice, with a very comfy double bed and the basic amenities. Would say the main feature is the pub bellow that is very convenient and has some friendly staff.

I didn't stay in the rooms but popped in a the pub a fair few times - although not my usual kind of place, actually enjoy going there with the friendly staff, and bands etc they have on. It may look a bit deceiving (I thought I would feel awkward going in at first) but quickly found everyone was friendly and welcoming. When my partner was visiting it was his favourite pub so ended up spending a few good nights there, so would recommend people give it a chance 😀

Booked this place for work. Although afterwards realised it's a long way from by office Very old school pub with hotel rooms above. Black timber rafters and wobbly for e as send very old. Hoddesdon is a pleasant and charming town Warning! It's above a pub that does live music. I was there Tuesday to Thursday though, so had no problems. Also bathroom isn't on suite. But I got up early so didn't have an issue. This was a pleasant cheap stay, if you consider above. Recommended.

What a place! It was scarry walking in here. It felt like a NF venue! On the plus side, it sold drinks. It had serious amounts of dust, and dirt. Bar server spoke clearly and had what we asked for. Will not be returning.

Recently stayed here as I needed a nearby overnight base for a wedding I attended, and this more than got the job done. The rate was very cheap which, when you only need somewhere to crash and have a shower, makes a stay here very reasonable. Speaking of those two activities - the room was clean with fresh linen, the bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. Sensibly, a set of ear plugs are provided (you are above a pub, after all) but I found these weren't really needed. A sink in the room makes it easy to clean your teeth before bed. A TV, mirror, kettle with tea and coffee, and bedside table and lamp round out the perfectly adequate room setup. The shared use bathrooms worked as intended - a bit tired, but clean, with good water pressure and temperature. My only complaint is it didn't seem like a large towel is provided, but fortunately I had brought my own. Staff were lovely, polite and helpful. In any instance, if you just need a basic room to stop for the night, then The Bell Hotel will happily fulfil that role for you!

It is a very welcoming pub. First image. Well, it can be deceiving. Give it a chance, you will warm to it, and in turn it will warm to you.

Friendly staff which helped me to accommodate me to room and got double room instead of single room. Can't fault it A+++

What a massive improvement over previous visits! This pub has a history and tonight I witnessed a great improvement. The staff and service was impeccable and no sign of the historical drug dealing was noticeable. Well done everyone.

Lovely traditional no frills pub venue. Welcoming feel with great staff. Salient reminder of true British pub values.

Great live music venue. Decent drink selection for a small bar area. Gets really busy with like minded music lovers. Parking 50 yards away in a public car park.

This place left a mark on me. I was drugged in this pub and pushed into things that I wouldn’t usually do that was filmed since that day. There have been some very nasty people with a hate campaign about me and it’s all because of the nasty characters that frequent this place that are friends with my brother. Seems to me that they actually had it in for my brother as well, because the people in this pub wanted him to deliver a package. The package unbeknown to him was drugs, and when he realised he aborted the situation and got away, but what they actually wanted to do, was make sure that he got caught. How nasty are these people they may give you a nice smile every time you go in they might be able to put on a face but actually, morally! I wouldn’t give you tuppence for the place
