I love hobby craft, the staff are so friendly and make me feel like part of the team. They let me know when stock is coming in, when the next promotion are coming and always so helpful in finding what I need every time I go to the store. I will always choose to go to Croydon hobby craft purely for the staff and how helpful they are all day every day. The manage of the store is always willing to help and always had a smile on his face as do all the staff. I have attended one on one work shops which have been amazing and insightful.

Went here for the 1st time with my wife. If you love crafting then this is as close to heaven as you can get while on earth. There is just about everything you can think of and some here, and the prices are really good as well. We spent about 90 minutes just nosing around and spent more than we intended, and will definitely be going back there. Very highly recommended.

Noticed the security guards only follow black people around the store. I'm not lost I know this is England but, I expected more subtlety! Racial profiling is absolutely the lowest form of security guarding and I just can't see myself shopping at this store again! I was with my husband and 2 young children at the time...there are plenty of stores that do not treat black families like this!

I've used this branch for years and years. They always have a large selection and the staff have always been super friendly and helpful as possible. It's clean with good security. Ample parking on site and surrounded by a retail park.

Brilliant store. Came for a workshop and although I had got the time wrong by mistake staff were so kind and gave us the materials to complete the craft at home. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Store was very well stocked and had everything we needed, had a large halloween section and the beginnings of Christmas section. 3 hours of free parking was very useful

Plenty of stock for models and other home items, nice shop layout, can use website to order and collect when convenient

Rarely has what I need in stock so have to order online to click and collect. No cycle parking. Too many kits, not enough craft basics. Staff polite.

Last minute birthday decorations, new ideas for crafting... This is your place. The balsa wood has the best price here. Cheaper than Amazon. Perfect for laser engraving or cricut machine.

Hobby Craft always has some amazing bits. Staff are always very helpful. I am in the process of setting up a day nursery and I found some bits to support the decor and activities.

Mystical and magical place for craft. Warehouse full of stuff, loads of categories (haberdashery, paper craft, paint, etc) but not loads of variety within the category. So you might not get an exact specific thing, but you'd get the next best thing. So I went in looking for yarn made of recycled t-shirts, which I couldn't find, but found other thick yarn. They have multiple shades of yellow paint, but perhaps not the exact shade from a specific manufacturer you need to match your depleted resource. They have loads of foam board, but perhaps not at the exact grade and colour and size you need. Loads of paper, but perhaps not Somerset high GSM for printing. Perfect for hobbies, just slightly missed the mark for a professional finish. You may need to go to a specialist shop for that. Still absolutely love it though.

Oh dear, I really don't see how this place is still going. It feels like an empty husk compared to 13 years ago when it first opened on the Purley way. It has a very poor selection of craft materials npw and is expensive for what they do still sell. You'd be better off going to the works or amazon for your craft materials. As for the atmosphere, well, it feels miserable in there, no joy, just depressing.

Went to buy some frosted window film. Web site said it was in stock. Walked from central Croydon. Guess what. Not in stock. I didn't mind really, it was nice walk through Wandle park, but if you are asking me about Hobbycraft, I probably won't go there again.

This Hobbycraft is a large store with a well-staffed team and a good selection of products. During my recent visit, I was pleased to find a variety of paint pens available. Very nice to walk into and buy them immediately

Love this shop!!! Can easily spend a small fortune but they are reasonably priced. They cover pretty much every hobby and it’s a well laid out store. The staff are always helpful but I do find the parking abit rubbish so tend to visit in the evenings.

Can generally (9x out of 10) find what you are looking for/need craft-wise. Even if you aren't particularly looking for something, there is always plenty of deals and crafts that catch your eye and draw you in to buying 🤣 ... Loyalty cards available for saving up points. Staff are also generally happy and attentive and always willing to help with advice or finding things in the store.

Friendly staff, 2 floors of merchandise. I was looking for baking items, was able to randomly find raspberry flavoured paste for cupcakes. Queue never that long, but always busy.

What an incredible store. Not only is it very well laid out, the staff itself certainly make this store. I have been to many Hobby Crafts but this one stands out over all of the rest. Thank you for helping me as it can be challenging with a very active 1 year old to get the things I need. If I could rate this a 10 I would. The manager was also so helpful. Thank you everyone

Really nice store always well presented inside. Staff have been nice every time I've been so far. Plenty of products from art products to baking

Jane is wonderful! I’d had a problem with an online order. Basically, I’d ordered yarn that was said to be in stock. It wasn’t in stock, so I was told that they are ordering it to the store. I then got another email an hour later saying they were cancelling some items. It was very confusing, so I visited this store, and Jane went out of her way to check with the warehouse whether or not they were expecting a new delivery for the yarn I wanted. Turns out it wouldn’t be coming, so I had to come back a couple days later to collect the single item that did arrive - and Jane was able to cancel the order altogether, find me alternative products which matched what I needed, and out the entire order through again so I could get my 3 for 2 and 15% discounts that I would have had on the original order! All in all, the staff are lovely, and Jane was extremely helpful. I do hope New stock comes in after Christmas! Very excited to return!

This tranquil and charming location is a paradise for craft lovers. It always amazes me how uncrowded it is. I find myself returning here five times a month to acquire top-notch craft supplies for my dear daughter.

Item ordered online for click and collect - email received to say it’s ready to collect- drove 45min to collect - item not in stock (how does that work?!) - agreed to compensate me with a £20 gift voucher and when I get home I realise they only gave me £15! Head office not helpful in resolving any further

Went for some fabric, really helpful and very patient, whilst I was making my mind up which ones to have. Thank you very much. 🌻

I enjoy walking around this store looking for ideas, it is usually very well stocked. I feel that there could be better sign posting for categories of items

Let me just quickly give an 'A+' to the staff here... from the kind tall man in glasses who left his shelf restocking to answer my silly questions about the difference between brushes...to the lady at the till...to the professional security. Was one of those great experiences where I went in knowing nothing, but walked out a little smarter and a lot more confident to try my hands on some new hobbies. Recommended! I'll keep celebrating businesses like this that make Croydon such an awesome place!

Lots of variety as expected but there were gaps on shelves. Not sure if that was due to sales or logistics. When enquiring about an item, the assistant said if its not there then we don't have it!

  • 5/5 Carol A. 2 years ago on Google
Nice assortment of craft items. Staff very helpful if you can't find what you want.

  • 5/5 Elaine J. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely amazing, they have everything for any hobby. Will definitely be returning soon.

Amy was extremely helpful in giving us insightful information on a diverse range of products. The shop had everything we needed, definitely will return soon for more YARN

So glad it's survived lockdowns. The only place to buy that thing, if you don't it's name, rather than online! With crafts it's important to see colours before you make a mistake by buying online! Good prices and staff helpful.

Very nice hobby shop. Good section stocks.

Good shop always handy but never ever as anything i need..or staff dont have a clue of the material asked..

  • 5/5 Chantal R. 1 year ago on Google
Between both floors, I had to ask about 3 staff members where things were (my sense of direction is a bit rubbish). I found each one of them very friendly and willing to help, even if I'd just interrupted them putting stock out etc. The lady at the til was lovely too.

On the ocassion that I'm feeling crafty, I like coming here to see what's around and get inspiration. I've been here a couple times and the staff are incredibly friendly. On my last visit, the lady at the desk helped me pick out the right material for what I wanted to do and I was quite pleased with how the chat went

Hobbycraft is not what it used to be. Hadn't been in ages and didn't find the usual array that made my eyes sparkle and made me spend ages (and a lot of money) in the shop. I guess you can find much more online and can collect it from there. Then again, might as well get it delivered to your home since the experience in the shop is not quite the same. What a pity.

The staff were not helpful. I was told that I would have to wait for an e-mail to use my child's birthday voucher and that could come at any time during the day. I was not going to wait the whole day so I found the manager who activated the voucher for me. The person at the till was not at all interested in helping me. Had I listened to her and waited I would not had got the voucher because they had mistyped my e-mail address.

Worth a visit if you're craftcrazy and need stock or something new to begin. Staff friendly and courteous. Easily accessible by bus.

Great store has a bit of everything especially the yarn section. Cardstock is great prices and always someone to help !!

  • 5/5 Sue S. 1 year ago on Google
Great selection of gifts, toys, crafts, models, art and Christmas themed bits. Love it, but could spend all day browsing.

  • 4/5 Marilyn E. 1 year ago on Google
Hobbycraft is a wonderful place full of all kinds of creative materials. I could spend hours in there. Prices do seem to be on the high side but the variety of goods is impressive. My reason for a score of four stars is because, as a mobility scooter user, l find it cramped when trying to negotiate the aisles and can only just get in the lift when using the Croydon store. Also it is hard for a scooter to approach the paying bays.

I really love this shop and have bought loads of things from Mindfulness Colouring books to paints and cloth. It's great being able to dabble in so many crafts. I brought it down one star because they're bit pricey and because the queues are often very slow to move.

Went the last Sunday before Christmas and was expecting the store to be crowded. I was pleasantly surprise they had all the tolls open so it wasn't busy inside. One star off because the carpark was rammed. It's not big enough.
