Great food and a wonderful rustic, old charm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend eating here. We had scotch fillet with salad and chips. It was cooked perfectly.

Party of five dinner and a few drinks. Food Was typical pub fare of great quality. All meals came out hot and together. Something a lot of places don’t do these days. We had a child with us as well and they were very accommodating. Would recommend if you’re looking simple tasty home style pub food of great quality. Great service friendly staff. Thank you for a great experience.

My husband and I got married at the vine in early March this year, Jimmy was more than happy for us to have a ceremony out back and we also had our reception under the pergola it honestly could not have gone any better! Jimmy and Vicky were absolute gems and so were the staff on that night, we were able to drop off our wedding decor the night before and have early access the morning of to set up. Jimmy was so easy to work with and made our whole wedding planning / journey so stress free. We had platters come out for the guest after the ceremony and they were perfect! Every single one of our guest absolutely loved the vine and not one person complained about their meals! We had an absolute blast and the day/night was honestly so perfect! Thank you so so much again Jimmy you’re an absolute legend cam and I will be up there very soon for a meal!

Fantastic Meal, Hot too. Chicken snitz best in Wangaratta. It not the panko crumbs snitzel its the awesome original breadcrumb coating which i love the best. Service exeptional , staff always greet with a smile on the dial. Great lil country pub . Do yourself a favor go and have a feed .

The best pub in and around Wang. With a great Parma, beer garden, open fires and some awesome entertainment to match - Jimmy and the team are doing a ripper job! We always look forward to our next visit.

Dropped in with friends for a beer and a feed at noon. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Beer was cold and the outside area was fantastic with both plenty of shade and sun for you to decide where you want to sit. Meals were fantastic from a presentation point of view. Size and as produce was good quality. Most importantly they were piping hot when they were served. The only issue l would say l was disappointed in was the price of a Carlton draught schooner being $9.20!! The lowest l have paid is $7 (not happy hour) and highest in Wangaratta is $8.70. Although I would come back l wouldn’t make this my local pub on this basis.

An absolute blast going into a hotel that has so much history & great ambience with the accessories from yesteryear. Jimmy on the bar & waiting tables would have to be the most efficient guy in the industry. Great food & we had an enjoyable time. Congrats.

Lovely warm and welcoming staff and atmosphere. Good food all round, pepper gravy could probably do with some attention. Loved the decor. Absolutely will return when I’m in the area again.

Came here based on the amazing reviews. From Melbourne , staying in Beechworth we thought we’d make the 45 minute drive from our accommodation to eat at this quirky pub! We ordered classic pub foods 3 parmas and a schnitzel. It was the worse meal I’ve ever had. The schnitzel crumbs weren’t cooked and the sauce on the parma tasted like tomato paste. All in all it tasted like a very undercooked pizza. The serve was also mainly salad . The chips tasted under cooked and liked it was cooked on to low of a temperature. However the gravy was very nice and were surprised with some pasta salad which was delicious. Hoping it was just a bad batch. But we went home hungry.

I have been dining at the Vine for a number of years but the current on line only booking system has put me off returning. Yes it’s a small thing but if a country pub can’t even provide a phone number to book it is a sad time. In addition the failure to provide a lunch menu the existing menu is fairly boring and restricted. The exception are the curries. They are superb. All previous comments about surroundings, service, quality etc are accurate and deserved.

We started and finished a bike ride from North Wangaratta Rec reserve. Following the ride we enjoyed a drink or two and a coffee in the very charming Vine Hotel.

Arrived 1 hour after sighn said should be open. 1pm. People were around. Nobody opened up. Been there 3 three times, no go. Rang phone to be told by answering machine to book on line. Disappointing.

Had a Christmas lunch with friends. My first time at the pub. As soon as I saw it, I knew I'd love it and was definitely not wrong. Love the old pubs with lots of memorabilia. Customer service was great and my pork medallion were delicious. Cooked to perfection. Everyone in the group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Definitely will be back

The perfect place to stop on the way through. The steak was black Angus fresh from the farm and cooked to perfection. All produce was fresh and locally sourced. The space is lovely and staff were so friendly. Will be stopping for lunch on the return journey.

Fantastic local pub. Lots of antiques to look at. The family who owned it, couldn't have been more helpful. This is a must for travellers to just have a drink or enjoy the best cooked barramundi for dinner. Wise to book.

We had the best function at The Vine for my partner’s 60th back on the 7/1/23. The food was fabbo as was the venue and the service. Jimmy and Vicky were amazing and nothing was overlooked or any trouble, the guest travelled far and wide for the party and had nothing but praise for the evening. Thanks so much for such a memorable night, it was topped off by my beautiful man proposing to me ❤️😊

We recently had our wedding party at the vine hotel. The vibe and atmosphere was so relaxed, fun & stress free. Jimmy, Vikki & crew were so fabulous to work with and they made our party dreams come true! Nothing was too much trouble, everything was handled with love and care, the venue was spacious, neat and such a good vibe! The Vine also welcomes pets (such a yes!) and have a great out door deck area and massive beer garden for them to run around in. Other than hosting the best party ever, we love to come here for drinks & dinner or a cheeky Sunday lunch. In summer, we enjoy the deck & live music and shows that they host. In winter you’ll find us inside next to the open fire with a local red in hand. It’s our favourite local in North Wangaratta, you’ve gotta try it!

Went to get some dinner tonight (Sunday) at a time they had advertised on both their website and booking system as open. My partner, myself and a few other groups were waiting outside because the doors were locked. Partner went around the back to make sure everyone was OK, as the locals out the front said it was strange. The owner was fine and said they had closed down for the night because they ran out of stock after the weekend. Might be a bit more considerate to post to socials about this, or at the very least put a note on the door.

Had dinner with friends over the long weekend … the pub is very cozy and the outdoor deck is perfect for a warm summers evening. Great food … parmas were a huge hit and the curry of the day was amazing!

On the edge of Wangaratta a decent pub with a great beer garden including a myster. Inside an eclectic mix of historical decorations. Great selection of booze and local cordials. Charming staff. Only two mains for vegetarians and no burgers which shocked me. All in all a good venue for family and friends.

There are not many places in Australia where you can enjoy lunch in a 160 year old pub, but the Vine Hotel in North Wangaratta is one of those rare places. Well worth the short diversion off the highway, the ambience and history of this classic hotel must be experienced to be believed. True to the period, it is like stepping back in time. The atmosphere was complemented by a very enjoyable meal. The "entree" potato wedges would be enough to satisfy 4 people as an appetizer and came with a very generous serve of sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. The chicken schnitty was succulent with a generous serving of fresh salad and chips cooked to perfection. While you're there, make sure you treat yourself to a glass of Kolche, a locally brewed ale. Be sure to visit this gem that gives a nod to a bygone era and the people who lived it. The Vine Hotel will not disappoint.

What a wonderfol old pub. Another one of those gems that are full of memorabilia. Unlike some of the outback ones that we have been to with dust and cobwebs, The Vine Hotel keep their trinkets shiny and clean. Being one of the first warm sunny days that we have had in a while, we took full advantage and sat outside on the big verandah. Next door there was a gun club and they were on a shooting rampage!! lol. The lovely lady serving couldn't have done a better job. And our food was devine. The cook is a Sri Lankian so obviously hubby ordered a curry that was amazing! I had the lamb cutlets. It's not often you get lamb cutlets for $20. Bargain! Not only that, but the salad was real good too. Not just the normal pub greens with a bit of vinegar sloshed over. I was given 2 salads, 1 being a noodle salad. So nice and refreshing. 5 Stars!!

Love the old world charm! Almost as good as being in a pub in the English countryside. Food great but as someone who actually likes vegetables and salad, would have preferred more of these.
