Seems i must be out of kilter with everyone else reading their reviews. Limited menu. Essentially a collection of small dishes. Don't come hungry. And no sides to pad them out.....for example they have a burger but you cannot get chips (were told, and I quote 'we are not that sort of place, the pub does chips'). So don't expect a 'lunch' - expect a light menu. I had a pulled pork burger - it was ok but nothing special to come out of your way for. Partner had the chicken wrap - said it lacked filling for the entire wrap and by the end they were just eating the 'bread' we were thinking to have desert but we're so disappointed we just left. It's certainly not a place to linger. And therefore honestly it's not a place you'd take family/children. There is little for them. You get the feeling they are trying to be something more 'fro fro'. Which explains why on this Friday lunch time it was pretty empty (saw 2 people come in) while the pub across the road was busy. In fact you want a full meal you'd need to go to the pub. Used to come here when it was the Whitty Cafe for years and it had a great menu and was always busy and we would make a detour to come......not again it's declined that much under new owners. There is a far better cafe up the road in Mohyu or the general store for great burgers etc in Cheshunt down the valley 10 minutes.

Came in after a camping trip nearby that left us soaking from unpredicted storms. Prices were reasonable, a ham and cheese croissant with coffee costing less than $15. The workers were friendly and attentive, especially with the dog water bowl. Toilets are also clean if you're after a luxurious post coffee bog after using drop toilets for a few days. They could change their name from 'hobbled-ehoy' to 'walked out a new man-ehoy that felt so good' cafe

Really impressed with the food, coffee and vibe. Highly recommended Local cafè with really interesting specials you wouldn’t find in every other cafe. Ordered the bigger burger and absolutely loved the combo with the fresh potato salad on the side. Will definitely stop by more often to try out the rest of the menu!

I recently visited Hobbledehoy and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The cafe has a wonderful atmosphere - warm, inviting, and comfortable. Their menu offers a great range of options, and I ordered their sensational long black coffee and avocado toast. The coffee was perfectly brewed, and the avocado toast was delicious, with creamy avocado and a fragrant blend of King Valley spices and sesame seeds. But the food wasn't the only thing that impressed me. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Despite being busy, the service was prompt and I felt well looked after. Overall, I highly recommend Hobbledehoy for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable breakfast or lunch experience. It's a delightful cafe with a great menu, top-notch service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Lovely little cafe. Got the brekkie wrap with kasundi, it's a tasty basic but done well - was even toasted so it was nice and crispy. Also had an old fav - iced chocolate. The pulled pork slider was very juicy and delicious.

We had breakfast two mornings in a row on new years day and the next, both times were fantastic, the staff were friendly and the food exceptional, highly recommend dropping in, good hangover cure!

This is a wonderful cafe. It just needs to do a little bit more work on providing value for money. The owners are cheerful and provide good service. The coffee is very good most of the time. The ambience of remote cafe in the country is pleasant. My wife and I had the smashed avocado on toast. Unfortunately, the first reaction both of us had was that the single toast looked lonely on the plate relative to the price paid. We suggest two toasts or filling out the plate with salad or something else.

For gravel cyclists the King valley is absolutely superb with beautiful scenery, great gravel roads & great spots to stop for lunch in the small & friendly country cafes. I've stopped at this Cafe a few times & they put up with my endless chatting. The bloke who runs the place is friendly & has great food. Whitfield is probably the best place to stay. Just down the road is valley view caravan park. Its superb with a great bike wash, secure bike storage & repair stand. Basically the King valley should try a big promotional campaign to highlight themselves as gravel cycling Mecca along with beechworth. The valley has done a great job thus far with great facilities at whitfield along with moyhu.

We have been here a few times and enjoyed the lovely cakes, Pretzels, coffee and food. Today we stopped for lunch and in a long time I haven't had as good Nürnberger Bratwurst and Sauerkraut 😋 also the Gullasch was yummy. We'll be back 🥰

This little place punches above its weight. Delicious and generous breakfast with friendly service and good prices. I’ll be stopping here again.

We booked our table although there was room. Good choices of drinks, friendly staff. But the food was "to die for!" Each dish was beautifully prepared and the desserts were out of this world.
