Disappointing Experience I was really looking forward to eating sushi, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. Food: The sushi was subpar, The rolls & sandwiches were poorly constructed, falling apart as soon as I picked them up. The flavors were uninspired and lacked the depth I've come to expect from good sushi. Almost every plate had a sweet chille sauce and mayo on to hide the minature pieces of meat. The salmon roses had no rice, and the salmon was warm, it was like trying to pick up jelly with chopsticks.
The revamp looks great! And the sushi is better than ever. I went before they redid the place and it was terrible, but went again after the renovations and assuming new management? Something changed, and it is much better and was a way better service.
My and my Fiancé visited Yamakado Sushi Restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon, and we were very happy with our experience. The food and drinks we received were excellent with a great variety of options available. We also received great service from our waiter with no issues getting his attention when needed. The table was neatly presented with serviettes, hand sanitizer, and chopsticks. I am also happy with the basin & soap that was available to your hands before enjoying your sushi. I am fairly new in the sushi world, but I was very satisfied. I would recommend Yamakado Sushi Restaurant at the Grove Mall. Regards,
As always a great sushi experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Easy parking and entry.
The one star is for the guy who helped us. Zero for the sushi. We came for a sushi take away. We ordered and it was done super quick. We came home to find this (see pictures) on the platter. Barely any fish, only rice, I weighed out all the fish it wasn't even 50 g on the entire platter. The price was also steep. So safe to say I won't be coming back. Just a PSA to whoever wants to go there for sushi other than the sushi buffet which you can see what you are paying for (mediocre also). Beware its only rice and veg.
The best place for sushi! We've been loyal customers for years and are never disappointed. Opt for the buffet—the variety is fantastic, and the price makes it truly worth it. Despite the slow service, it's still much better than any other Chinese restaurant I've visited. While excellent, the food here often comes with service issues. However, if you go for the buffet, you can serve yourself from the conveyor belt if the service is slow or absent. Additionally, it's a unique experience to watch the sushi-making process, unlike other restaurants where the conveyor belts often obstruct your view. Overall, if you're seeking quality sushi, this is the place to be.
As always, thoroughly enjoyed the buffet. Good selection of sushi available off the kaiten-zushi, and hot dishes came out quickly when ordered. Staff friendly and efficient.
We ordered a sushi California platter and seafood udon noodle soup. The food came pretty quickly! 🍣🍱 TBH, the udon was a bit too plain for me, but luckily our waiter, Mongie, was offering chopped chilli, and it was making a huge improvement to the taste of the noodles!🍜
