👍👍 Chief Wapello is my 3rd Great Grandfather. So naturally this park and his resting place is an important part if my genealogy and proud to have such a person in my family!

A very small but well kept park. Interesting to stop and check out some local history that had larger statewide and beyond significance. There is a very nice semi-enclosed shelter that someone put a LOT of work into with calligraphy and portraits. I've driven past this attraction many times over a lot of years . Glad we stopped for once instead of thinking about being in a hurry.

I was disappointed to hear he wasn't even buried there. I guess the jokes on us?

Very well kept with historical information available. A very nice stop while traveling through Southeast Iowa. It has no restrooms, playground or picnic tables.
