Wouldn’t recommend it! Highly over priced- £3.95 for a Latte. £4.40 for a Mocha. Crazy!! It used to be expensive, now it’s ludicrous. Service really slow. Waitresses weren’t friendly. Nothing special about food either. Won’t be going back. Cheaper to have coffee in 5* hotel in London. No idea where they are getting their prices from!? If you’re going to charge these prices, service must be exemplary, food outstanding, and a great atmosphere. You’re offering none of these!

The parking entrance is to the left of the front door through the double gates. Visited for breakfast mid week. Service was very friendly and efficient but £10.80 for a cooked breakfast was too expensive. Bring a coat as it was quite cold in the restaurant, most other customers keeping their coats on.

Lovely scones, well flavoured but a bit crumbly ( short ) Flat-white was creamy and hot. Very pleasant surroundings.

My mum booked a table for a family meal as we were celebrating my daughter and dad's birthdays. I was very disappointed with the vegetarian lunch options. The sandwich I had was average and the salad wasn't fresh. Those who had ordered a hot meal faired better. The coffee tasted more like an instant coffee than filtered. Very overpriced and one particular member of staff was very unfriendly (she has served in the cafe since it was Ballydougan pottery). This member of staff started clearing the table before asking if everyone had finished and then threw down the menus without even asking if we wanted dessert. I won't be back!

The food at Ballydougan is excellent, decently priced compared with other establishments, and the staff service is top-notch. If you are looking for good food in a lovely place, then look no further than Ballydougan.

We had a fabulous lunch with my cousin today. Our meals were superb but my pavlova and hot Chocolate was to die for. The pavlova was the nicest I've ever had, honestly! The hot Chocolate was really Chocolatey, unlike some places that fail to realise how important that is! We'll definitely be back. The staff were really friendly and helpful too! Thanks everyone ☺️

We have visited Ballydougan many times for lunch, and I have always been very pleased with the dish presentation, food temperature and taste quality. Yesterday I had the Lemon and pepper chicken ciabatta with some of the best large chunky chips I have ever tasted. Staff are always pleasant and helpful, and the restaurant is a very relaxed dining experience.

Food was just ok. We both had a sandwich and at nearly £8 each they were for sure nothing special. I'm sure lots of other people enjoy there but I probably won't return.

Restaurant food and decor are just fantastic. Really has a cosy atmosphere. Also...ordered a Lemon Cake for a birthday...the quality was amazing like a star Baker cake from GBBO.

We had the Xmas 🎄 dinner, everything was delicious. Sweets and coffee also very good. Friendly and helpful stuff, very clean toilets, nice atmosphere, nice decoration. They don't serve alcohol but they told us we could have brought with us, good to know.

Poor quality of coffee every time, I really only drop in here when no other option is available. I think I will not be back I keep thinking they might improve. It seems a nice place every time I visit but the food isn't much either.

A menu that is trying too hard to seem fancy, but not hitting the mark on quality or service. Food that was ordered was “warm marinated chicken & bacon on ciabatta bread topped with cheese and balsamic glaze”, what arrived was chicken curry covered in balsamic, no cheese and a questionable amount of bacon (does none count?) The “marinade” (or curry sauce, for a better explanation of it, as this is not stated on the menu) and the glaze do not work together. This was the second order we had to send back, after one of our other orders requested chips instead of mash and arrived with meat on top of mash. A simple mistake however this set the tone for the rest of the meal. A poor attitude from the waitress when we had to send the food back, as I tried to explain that the menu does not reflect the food that was served and I got a defensive remark back. If the food had been correctly described on the menu, it would not have been ordered. Fish goujons were very nice. The chips they were served with were also good, however these are huge and would be known more commonly as wedges rather than chips. A quaint little spot, but the overall experience was poor and in the current climate people look for value for money, which isn’t what we got. Overpriced food and drink; the menu needs to be reflective of what food is being served, and the service level for the money being spent here needs improvement.

Was in the cafe on saturday and was completely surprised when I went to pay , I had a coke and a flake muffin to which I was asked to pay 8.15. This in my opinion was completely over priced. The muffin looked nicer than it tasted, was very heavy, couldn't finish it , with already paying 3.20 for a small coke, making the muffin 4.95. I know businesses like yours are finding it tough but over pricing is 1 way to drive away business, something our company all mentioned on the day, the prices ! Afraid wont be back

We had a gorgeous meal here as a treat for my very hard to please bit much loved mum. The menu has a wide variety of choice , the service is outstanding and the ambience with the lit stoves and Christmas garlands was just perfect. We had the loveliest time and also made several purchases the wee pottery section and gift shop ( the lady there is just adorable ) Most importantly our wee mum was very happy and that says it all !

I went with a friend for lunch, my meal was lovely but my friend got pork, it was very tough and she couldn't eat it. The waitress offered anything else on the menu or she said we wouldn't be charged for it. I think it wad just bad luck as food here is usually great, but we did appreciate not be charged for it
