We had our wedding reception here last week and it was incredible! Caorlan was amazing and so helpful and made it all very easy to organise particularly as my previous venue had cancelled with 6 weeks notice! The food was delicious and ALL of the staff (right down to the prep cooks) were very helpful and friendly at every stage of the process and made everything run smoothly on the night. We will definitely be returning regularly now we know what a hidden gem the halfway house is!

We just had our wedding here and we had the most incredible day!!! Caorlan went above and beyond right from the beginning to help us organise our day. We had our whole wedding here (ceremony and all!) the day flowed so smoothly and even when our cake collapsed, the chefs fixed it up and made it look amazing. We love going for dinner here and always get a great feed. Good portions, great value and delicious!

Really lovely experience at The Halfway House on Friday with my Dad and Friend. Service was really friendly and the food was incredible. We each got dinner then dessert after and I felt like the price was really reasonable too. Will definitely be back again!!

Great restaurant for a family lunch or an evening date. The staff are so friendly & obliging, the owner always goes to the tables to chat with patrons. The food is excellent & the menu has recently been updated to include light bites which are cracking value. A must visit with easy access from & to the A1

The food was lovely, the staff were great, the venue was spotless and the entertainment was better than we expected. The Halfway deserves a REALLY SPECIAL MENTION for the fabulous gluten free selection. For once our collection of coeliacs and gluten intolerant didn't have to eat saw dust, and were able to enjoy real quality. Thank you for a great work Christmas party! (22of us)

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and generous portion size. Wide selection for intolerance with a separate gluten free menu.

Excellent meal this evening. The place was very busy and the service was still attentive. Friday steak deal was fantastic value and beautiful. We'll be back.

Lovely food and great service. The guys that served our table were pleasant, helpful and attentive. Really enjoyable atmosphere, my family felt comfortable and looked after, from the moment we entered the restaurant. We will be back. 😁

Surprised how busy it was on the Wednesday night we ate here. Since most places are shut early in the week thought they must be doing something right to pull people in. The staff were very attentive, service was quick and plates were hot. Food was great, portion sizes good and reasonably priced too. Menu was varied so something for everyone. The pizza menu wasn't offered so must just be a weekend thing. All three of us enjoyed our meals, burger, pasta and roast beef dinner and will hopefully be back soon!

Visited today for the first time and were very impressed. When we entered the restaurant there was a lovely warm cosy feel about the place, the food was excellent with generous portions and the staff could not have been more helpful. We will definitely be back and would have no hesitation in recommending.

So happy we stumbled upon this place after leaving Belfast. Such a cute, cozy atmosphere and the food is INCREDIBLE! Best fish n chips I’ve ever tasted, halloumi burger was also unique and tasty. And the sticky toffee pudding was fantastic as well (:

Went on a Saturday evening and it was just wonderful. The restaurant is big but it has a cozy country feel to it. The food is incredible, I got beer battered fish whilst my husband got fillet and it was on the nicest meals we have had in a while. Very reasonably priced and we would return. My only suggestion would be to have the fire lit next time ;)

Almost 50 minutes passed from arriving at the restaurant to receiving the food. The hamburger was completely dried out and burnt on one side, the bun was supposed to be toasted, but was completely burnt on the edges. There was no dressing, nothing. We had huge cobwebs over our heads. The cleaning service should look higher than the table. And personally, I don't like the decoration made of artificial flowers at all. It looks cheap and has nothing to do with the local culture. I would rather expect it in the Balkan countries, not here. And in the end we got a wrong bill. Charged side dish that should have been part of the meal. The service was confused, either there was no one there, or all the waiters took turns there after a minute.

The Halfway had lost their way for a period of time. It was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by a refurbished decor. The staff were smartly dressed in black and very pleasant. The food was really good at a reasonable price. We were really pleased that we tried it again. Diane the manageress was very attentive to everyone’s needs. We would recommend everyone to try the updated Halfway House.

Will definitely be back, friendly staff from moment we walked in the door. Sunday roasts were yum and son enjoyed his curry. We also enjoyed our desserts and we were in and out in an hour the way we like it ⭐️

I haven't been to the Halfway in ages. Decided to go today with my husband and 1 year old. The food was really good. I had the steak sandwich with chips. Steak was delicious and so was the peppercorn sauce. My husband had the roast which he scored a 10/10. Unfortunately service was terrible. We were sat in a secluded area which the staff said would be quiet for our benefit which was ok but we probably missed out on any atmosphere. After sitting for 20 minutes I had to ask someone to give us a kids menu and also take our order. The wait for food was probably 30/35 minutes which wouldn't have been too bad if we hadn't have already been waiting so long to get our order taken. Also not ideal with a child and had to give him snacks to keep him happy which wasn't ideal before his dinner. Once we got our food we weren't checked up on once to see if everything was ok or wanted more drinks. A real shame that the service let this experience down hence the 3*. Food was easily a 4* and service probably 2*. Staff that we encountered were very nice. We will be back but really hope the service will have improved.

Very small mixed grill for Β£17. The menu was very poor. Disabled toilet was not one. No bars or toilet paper. All around the base was filthy and there was water on the floor.
