Amazing!!! Spelunker’s cuts its own fries, grinds its own beef, makes its own custard and WOW can you ever tell in the final product. But the most amazing thing is the service. My wife and I are from out of town, and we’re taking some time to figure out what to order. The gentlemen running register noticed and asked if we’d ever been, we said no so he welcomed us - and then when our food was ready personally brought it to our table, told us how the burgers are made, pointed out the boxes of fresh potatoes, and encouraged us to finish our meal with homemade custard. Exceptional service! As for the burger - a crispy toasted bun, juicy burger patty, just the right amount of toppings. Truly perfect. As for the fries - better than Five Guys, better than Thrashers. A strong nutty potato flavor and not oily at all. As for the custard - fresh, thick, and not too airy or too dense. Just the right consistency. If you’re passing through town, looking for a place to eat after your hike this is it!! If you only have one meal in town, this is the place. Trust me.

Definitely the best chicken Philly sandwich I have ever had. Will definitely be my go to spot even though it's 30 miles away. The burgers and fries are super good. Custard was creamy and delicious. The restrooms were clean. Dining room was super clean . Still awesome. Service and food are excellent.

Food is really good, fresh meat daily, frozen custard made daily. Fresh cut fries, you can get chili and cheese on your fries. The frozen custard is good. Very busy and dated. I think they have the best burger in town. I think they are even better than 5 guys. It's a small mom and pop store, and they try very hard and it shows in their food. The food is excellent.

After seeing the reviews, we gotta try this place and certainly pleased with our experience. They’re very busy, however, they were also fast and efficient. The spicy chicken sandwich was so good. IMO, one of the best chicken sandwich I had! My husband had the double patty cavern burger and we loved it. The burger was like a better version of five guys burger hehehe. They cut the potatoes for the fries there. There’re boxes of fresh potatoes in the dining room. The frozen custard is also a must try here!

Spelunker's is my "go to" for a cheeseburger and fries. The French fries are hand cut from fresh potatoes. Cooked to perfection and reminded me of boardwalk fries. The cheeseburger is a hand-made patty made to order the way you like it. I would say the meat is a little more than a quarter pound. There's always fresh cut flowers in the dining area. They bring your food to you with a smile. The staff is always warm and friendly. Check out and ordering are fast and efficient. Be sure to try out the chicken cheesesteak, cheesesteak, onion rings, and the spicy chicken sammich is amazing. If you order thr hell town spicy chicken sammich, be prepared for a sammich on fire! They are all amazing. Topped off with a hand-made milkshake, you will not be disappointed! 5 stars from me, and my favorite burger shop!

My husband and I went through the drive thru. The chocolate shake was amazing and we’d definitely come back for that. The burger, while delicious, was a heart attack on a plate as the grease was abundant. Lovely to support a local business!

Best hamburgers and homemade shakes in the area! We visit Shenandoah National Park every fall for change of leaves. We always stop here for dinner after a great day in the park. We stumbled upon this place years ago and eating here is as big a part of our trip as visiting the park. We never leave without going here. Their burgers are juicy and messy, just the way a great burger should be! I always get the pumpkin shake, because it's only out in the fall. Their homemade custard is the best! Put this place on your must visit. I wish they had another location closer to my home!

Best burger place! The ice cream is amazing as well. Definitely can recommend going here! It seems to be super busy on Sundays with all people going after church :)

Nice food. Tried the Veggie Sub. The fried onions in it were tasty. Great option for Indians who like to have spicy and vegetarian. Also the frozen custard was yum! I tried the Almond Biscotti flavor. My friends tried the chicken sandwich and they liked it.

Absolutely amazing food, the burger is our personal favorite. Anytime we are in the area we ALWAYS come here because of how good the food is. The only thing I would say is if your getting the double cavern burger I would recommend getting extra of most of the toppings or else you might be stuck with half a pound of extra meat when your done. Absolutely amazing food and always worth a visit! I recommend the fries extra crispy.

People better put some respect on Spelunker's name because they have the best burger in Virginia. I make the trip down from Northern Virginia to come to this fantasy land known as Spelunker's as often as I can. Burgers are juicy with flavor. The chicken tenders are hot, fresh, and seasoned. The home cut fries are amazing. The custard is fresh and delicious. Thick cut onion rings are crispy and delicious. They don't do gourmet burgers, these burgers are for the real ones out here.
