Only to be rejected by Empire Beauty School, I regret not coming here in the first place! They took me in, very organized. Appreciated the instructor telling me what the plan is and my girl did absolutely great! Although it was a long process, she wanted to make sure she did the best she could and I couldn’t be much happier with the results. I wish her luck on her career. She’s gonna kill it! Thank you again! Went from black natural hair to balayage.

I got highlights done by my friend. (She did amazing!) I had so much hair that Mr.B had to come over and help. He didn’t match what my friend was doing as seen in the photo. While I was shifting to get away from the heat of the foils and cape he made fun of me every time I shifted and because of the heat I eventually passed out completely. My friend later told me that while I was passed out Mr. B and several other teachers including Mr. Lee came over and continued to put foils in until a member of admin came over and told them to start removing foils. To which they didn’t rinse me out and they started using a moisture spray. Then the same member of admin came over and told them to get a chair and shampoo me. While I was being wheeled into the wash house Mrs.Nikki nearly wheeled me into the wall. Again my friend did amazing!

Here is my review. My experience started off on the wrong foot because a student tried detangle my 4C hair while it was dry. When I told her it would need to be wetted she tried to go back and forth with me (student was Caucasian ). Not sure what the educators are teaching the students, but at every salon I’ve been to it was universally known to wet before combing hair of my texture. However, situation was later rectified. I did not like that they won’t allow you to leave even if going to pick up lunch while the color is sitting in your hair for an hour. But they some what fixed this by offering me chips-so that was nice. But it would’ve been nice to be able to grab my lunch while the student was on her lunch break. In conclusion they could do better listening to their clients the teachers and students because we know our own hair. But I appreciate the problem solving here. The customer services from the teachers was really good. One teacher told me my hair was matted when it wasn’t it simply had build up from being and straight backs and was 4C textured Lol.

I've been there several times. Always try a new girl but I do it because prices are great and they take there time. They are so cordial courteous and friendly I love them. I've gone here because alot of times they don't deal with men's hair that's why I've always used them

New hairdo ,gave me a little boost. New perm and haircut, Jay was excellent and so was her instructor, Mr B. Both were very patient and professional. I am amazed how good the students are, just after a year.

Always go here to get my hair cut and colored. Save a lot of money and very friend staff and students. I’m a loyal guest..

Everytime I go for a haircut, my experience is great! I went yesterday and Viktoria was my stylist. She did amazing, my haircut is so fun and bouncy! My layers are exactly what I wanted and looks amazing. It was a great experience, I definitely recommend going.

My daughter got her haircut there last night. All she needed was a trim. Her hair is very long, with a rounded bottom and some long layers. Her haircut that should have taken under 30 min. took 1.5 hours and is choppy. Everyone was super nice but lacked any type of experience. I understand it is a learning school but I could have done a better job. Just sorry my mom took her and not me!

I've been coming here for 3 years and I am always SO satisfied with my experience and haircut! Everyone is very professional and does an excellent job - I've been getting so many compliments on my hair since I've started coming here. The haircuts are inexpensive and you give cosmetology students the opportunity to practice on a real person - it's a win-win! I have been getting my haircut at Rudy & Kelly Academy for years; I have never had a bad experience. Once in a blue moon, you get lucky with a stylist whose passion for hair is apparent as soon they start speaking. Today, I was lucky enough to find that in Alexia. She cut and colored my hair and did a fantastic job. I know she will quickly become a master at her craft. I guess what I am saying is; go get your hair done before she graduates!
