Best brunch! The breakfast burrito is fabulous! We loved everything about Nick’s, so much we went there two days in a row! The service was great, quick, super friendly and attentive. It’s a very casual place but the food and service makes up for the casual atmosphere and it feels perfect for a beach town. Highly recommend! I also want to add that on the second visit, we arrived 10 mins prior to close. We didn’t realize this until later in our visit; but the staff sat us with no issue or mention of the time, gave us excellent, attentive service and every person in there wished us a good day when we left! This just adds to our high opinion of Nick’s. Super well done!!!

I searched for seafood restaurants and read the reviews. Decided to try this place and was very glad I did. We got the fried shrimp and the fish taco special. The fried shrimp were not just the kind dumped out of a bag and into the fryer. These were butterflied and coated in a great batter. Large serving, too. The fish taco, served with a side of beans and rice, was excellent as well. This is not a fancy place, but the food was worth it. Would definitely eat here again.

Amazing service and the best food in Virginia Beach. Definitely highly recommended. Philly cheesesteak potato skins were absolutely the best I’ve ever had as was the crab cake sandwich and southern fried shrimp wrap.

Great food. Stopped by here after reading their great reviews from google. Its a local spot with a lot of locals. The prices were very fair and the food was very tasty. Was a little upset that I didn’t receive hushpuppies as a side with my vegetable side dish. The waitress nust of forgot and i only realized when i returned back to my hotel! Not a big issue, i just wanted my wife to try it once since she never did. Anyhow, everything was very good and the portions def fill you up.

We rather go to a little area with good food then rushed food. Budget friendly, cute little place and great food! Has the "home town diner" feel to it and I personally like that! Awesome art paintings on ceilings. Friendly waiter and open really early so not crowded at all!!!

Denise was so kind and efficient as well. Just the right amount of warmth and take-care-of-you-quick. Great food, I tried the Greek salad. The veggies were fine; the feta vinaigrette dressing was best. Apparently their breakfast special is reputable, I was too late for breakfast. Did not disappoint. Salad was 8$. Good prices.

My husband and I just stopped by for a quick lunch and I was blown away by the warm reception we received there. I got in before my husband and made the comment that today was his birthday. As soon as he walked in everyone told him happy birthday and one of the servers told me I was his favorite person of the day!!! Haven't had stewed tomatoes and years and there's are exceptional. The lamb isn't what I thought it would be but it was still amazing. Auggie is my new favorite server. I'm thinking we'll be back tomorrow for brunch. Even the plain baked potato was amazing.

Short walk from boardwalk where Neptune statue is located. Locally owned and run, home style no frills eatery. Will return.

Best blueberry pancakes at the Oceanfront ... & its not even close. The food & adult beverages are fresh & priced appropriately vs the overpriced pancake houses on Atlantic.

We went over to Nick’s for breakfast. We didn’t get offered any coffee. When my asked the waiter if the Eggs Benedict would contain any soya due to her allergy, he wouldn’t provide an answer but instead she got Eggs Benedict without sauce hollandaise. My poached eggs were fully cooked, the English muffins were burned and the potatoes were cold. When the waiter asked if everything would be fine, I said “no, not at all” which was just ignored. My friend insisted to get a new breakfast as his was delivered entirely cold. I guess we need to look for another breakfast place.

The food has slowly but surely been improving over the years. We had breakfast and liked the prices and menu choices. The food was good, definitely above average, but the time we spent there was way too long for 3 people who only wanted breakfast. This wasn't a result of it being busy or short staffed, it was purely do to our server. For the 3 meals, he brought out two of the wrong ones, which he had to go back and correct. After he brought the correct food, thwy were both missing items, which he apologized for and went to get, which took forever. By the time we had everything to eat our meal, it was cold. But we didn't want to spend even more time there, so we just went ahead and ate it. Drinks were never refilled, never brought cream for.the coffee. I don't know if he's new, or if it's just the way too layed back stoner surfer in him that makes him this way, but good lord dude. On the bright side, he was incredibly polite and funny.

A "Run-A-Way Bill" Favorite breakfast experience ... doesn't get any more "local" than "Nick's" in the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Home-made "creamed chipped-beef" over home-fries is my personal favorite! "Run-A-Way Bill" 01.29.16 Virginia Beach, Virgina —- “Nick’s” was my 1st breakfast visit after 4 months roaming the USA pARTy Trails! Besides their famous early-bird “Pooch” special, I go for their tasty-riffic “creamed cipped-beef” over their yummy-riffic home-fries. Service always leaves me with “More Smiles Than I Came In With!” too ... a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite USA eatery! “Run-A-Way Bill” was here! #RunAwayBill #VirginiaBeach 12.22.17 05.02.19 New ownership renovation added additional counter seating BUT the counter requires customers to sit side saddle and lean inward towards the counter. Same reliable serving team always makes me leave wanting more. “Nick’s” has always been a “Run-A-Way Bill” Favorite eatery. 07.30.21 —— Virginia Beach, Virginia - long time since I ate at “Nick’s” … “Run-A-Way Bill” FAVORITE smile-riffic “Cheryle” is the reason I returned … new owner’s really poor counter design requires sitting side-saddle and then lean in past the counter trim to eat … also, the new owner serves up LESS quantity on the chipped-beef portion, moving it down the list of the “Run-A-Way Bill” “Chipped-Beef Challenge” list … 03.03.22

My grandfather took me to Nick's for many years when I was a kid 40 years ago. It was an amazing family friendly place with good food then. Now I take my family there 40 years later. Nothing has changed. Great place to take your family for breakfast lunch or dinner with the nicest staff you will find. See you soon Nick's

Ordered grilled pork chops and got some stcraps of meat which were definitely fried. The barmade made me think I don't know what grilled means!? Never asked if I liked it or not or over some water, jut put the bill in front of me. I was hungry so I ate what was brought, but honestly would think twice feeding my dog with that stuff!

Great food at very reasonable prices. The new management has really taken this restaurant to a higher level with renovations inside and menu updates. Lots of locals come frequently...definitely a great sign. Highly recommended.

My husband loves this place and used to come all the time when he was single and lived off 24th street. This is a local's place with a simple menu of breakfast items but they're done well. Service was prompt. My husband ordered the corned beef hash, one of his go-tos on a menu and I swear it was the kind you get from Wal-Mart in the can. So I wasn't wowed. He seemed happy though so that's all that matters. My mom ordered a standard breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it while I went with an eggs, bacon and toast platter that was good, but just good. Nothing special. Coffee was pretty good too and it was ready and hot for plenty of refills during our visit. There is no wow factor here - but the place is relaxed and the food was solid. If you aren't looking for anything "bougie" for breakfast or brunch, this is going to make you happy.

It took a while to find this spot. It's hidden on a small shopping strip next to a mermaid store. The decor was interesting but seafood was very tasty. The raw oysters were super fresh and clean. All the main dishes and hush puppies were very tasty. The sides left us wanting more though.

We had dinner here. Zach was our server and he was awesome! He was very friendly and quick on his feet. He checked on us often and acted like he loves his job, which you don't see too often these days. We had the liver and onions and let me say that I have never had liver in a restaurant that tasted so tender and delicious. So delicious! The fried shrimp was good also. The sides they have are not all the usual ones. They have stewed tomatoes, pickled beets, lima beans, green beans, and the usual sides of mashed potatoes, baked potato, fries, cole slaw, etc. You won't be disappointed eating at Nicks Bar & Grill while in VA Beach I promise!

Everything was delicious. I had liver and onions. Could have used a little more seasoning, but overall it was very good. Staff was awesome. Very attentive to our needs. Will definitely go again when in the area.

We got a bbq and a chicken Philly.. the chicken Philly was terrible. Giant bun that’s dry and just hardly a few pieces of chicken. It was like eating a sub roll by itself. I feel like a gas station would have had better food. The bbq meat was decent… but the bun was hard and cold. The slaw was not good. Not impressed at all. The FB page is misleading about their breakfast times. Would not recommend coming for lunch.

This was our 1st visit. Small place,. We had to wait a few minutes before we were sat. No big deal, though. Our server Liz was very friendly. Our breakfast was pretty good too.

Came here for lunch as there breakfast closed. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and served fast. Flounder sandwich is huge for lunch and fish was fresh and light breaded which I love. This is a small ,clean and nice restaurant, would highly recommend and would be back if I have a chance to visit VB again.

One of the best breakfast places I've been to! Great staff and the food was yummy!

Nick’s impressed my in-laws and everyone we were with! The scallops were big and perfectly cooked and the flounder was delicious. The fried foods were lightly fried with clean oil you could tell. Very fresh and the whole staff is friendly. They cleaned off a table in the back so my toddler could sit in a booth like it was no problem at all. Great service, great seafood! We will be back!

This was by far my most uncomfortable experience at a restaurant and I’ve traveled abroad to many countries. I went with my kids and husband to accompany my hungry brothers. My fam and I were all still pretty full from our last meal but felt like we should order something so we all decided to get an order of fries. The waiter came and took my brothers‘ orders and then when I mentioned that we all wanted to get fries, he rudely asked, „that‘s it?“ with a very weirded out look on his face. He was very willing to try to sell us more even after I mentioned that we were all not that hungry (first time I’ve ever felt the need to give an explanation to a waiter). I’ve been to various restaurants with friends and family as a non-paying customer or ordering only an appetizer or a drink and never had a problem. When our bill came, they charged us $17 for 4 tiny plates of fries. They made sure to try to up-charge them as much as they could. Way to lose new customers. Update: I reminded myself to add a star because I had forgotten to mention the food quality which was, at least good.
