I came here for prenatal care during my pregnancy and was less than happy, between waiting days for return calls when there was an issue, to being prescribed medication without discussion that I was uncomfortable with. Today I came to discuss birth control and was not seen at my appt time as I was not allowed to bring my breastfed baby in with me. Had I been notified of this change of policy beforehand I may have been able to get childcare for the appointment, but either way I think refusing to see a patient at a womenā€™s healthcare facility because she brought her breastfed 7 month old baby along is ridiculous.

I have been going here since 2017 and loved this place until augusta medical bought this place out..where do I start. Nobody answers the phone there's a recording to leave a message and if your lucky you might get a call back. I called since Monday to be seen got a call back on Wednesday. Wouldn't usually be a big deal but the issue I had going on was rather important. Fast forward to my appt I made for Friday I asked the scheduler to put me down for my annual and to discuss my issues with the Dr. To which only available was kara monger fnp. I went in for my appointment. Went back in the room and basically chit chatted with her for no more than 10 mins. Then she left walked me to.check out desk. I explained I hadn't had my annual their response was she didn't have time...so I'm confused why did you make the appointment if she didn't have the time. The whole thing was rushed. No offense but I'm not paying 100 dollar co-pay plus whatever insurance doesn't cover to just talk with your fnp for all of 10 mins. She told me to call if there's any issues at this point I laughed because nobody answers the phone. This is so disappointing because I love dr.greer she has been so helpful and kind to me but I'm looking for another care provider immediately

Itā€™s good when you can finally get to them. Iā€™ve been trying to schedule an appointment since the end of June ā€¦ itā€™s already August and they have not gotten back to me or called back, I call them every single week and leave messages and they have never answered. Itā€™s very frustrating, which sucks because the service providers are actually pretty great people.

I will NEVER forget the nurse telling me "pregnancy just sucks sometimes" after calling several times because I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed and on the verge of losing my job. Not to mention THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. You have to call and leave a voicemail and they will "get back to you" when they feel like it, which could be days. Every single appointment was short and no one listened to my concerns. I had to transfer myself to a new office at 5 months pregnant because I was getting really worried. Shenandoah Womens only did 1 ultrasound at 8 weeks so the new office immediately did an ultrasound and found no amniotic fluid and sent me to a high-risk specialist. I was out of the time period for a amniofusion because this place did not monitor me correctly. He ended up dying during an emergency c-section. They do NOT care here. They never even checked up on me, just sent threatening letters saying to pay my bills. You are nothing but a dollar sign to these people. Do not risk your baby's life for this sad excuse of a doctor's office.

Iā€™m very agitated, and typically never leave reviews like this but iā€™m saddened and fed up. I came originally to get birth control and I was open to any kind but was suggested Nexplanon (I mentioned I would prefer to have birth control that could help me gain weight, also note I informed the doctor that actively I was using zero birth control.) So I said okay great and they said to come back in two weeks when the insert would arrive. As I was leaving and went to the checkout desk I was never scheduled to come in. I call two weeks later to schedule a time but they said they forgot to give me discharge paperwork that was mandatory to fill out. So they had to mail me the papers and I sent them back and waited for a call that the nexplanon had arrived (the lady on the phone said she would make sure she called.) I never received a call but I was trying to be patient. After 3 weeks though, I called and asked if my birth control had arrived but the lady on the phone said it still had not came in. Then after another 3 weeks I called again and was informed that it still had not arrived and at that point I was frustrated because I definitely could have had it sooner than the 2 months that I had been waiting. However the day finally came when I got the call that the Nexplanon had arrived and I go in. (also to mention I took off work the whole day for this appointment) The nurse was asking me questions and asked if I was currently using any contraceptives and I said no. She then asked the last time i had sexual intercourse and I said the night before. She then said I would unfortunately not be able to get the insert that day and would have to wait another TWO weeks because I was not suppose to be having sex unless a contraceptive was used, incase there was a chance of pregnancy. I completely understand all of this but let me tell you this was news to me, and not to mention I feel like this should have been said when I was being told about Nexplanon. When the doctor came in after the nurse I basically told her my frustration about everything above and said she she was sorry and understood why I was upset. But I said fine and waited another two weeks. Anyways, I thought I was having UTI symptoms and went to urgent care two day before my Nexplanon appointment and the doctor said I had an ovarian cyst. I went in to get the Nexplanon no problem but the doctor wanted to schedule me for an ovarian ultrasound to check on the cyst. I made the appointment and here I was this morning waiting outside for my appointment that was at 7:30AM (I tried to make it as early as possible so I wouldnā€™t have to take off work this time) I left for my appointment this morning at 6:30AM and realized I didnā€™t get that typical call to confirm my appointment. I thought no biggie Iā€™ll call at 7:00AM just to make sure. I called at 7:05AM but to my surprise the automated message said they were closed and didnā€™t open until 8:00 AM. I was dumbfounded how my appointment could have been schedule for a time that they werenā€™t even open. Nonetheless I arrive at the appointment at 7:30AM and just wait in the parking lot until 8:00AM. At around 7:50AM I see a couple walk in and so I go in to. The front desk lady says they were open at 7:30AM and i tell her my confusion because I called and it said they were closed. Iā€™m just so fed up and donā€™t even care about this ovarian ultrasound. Currently waiting to be called because because she called back to the doctor and asked if she could still take me. I am just so overwhelmed that I want to cry here in the waiting room. I really wanted to like this place but I do not plan on having future care provided here.

Used to love Shendoah Womanā€™s health. But in the last year they have increasingly gone down hill. On 3 different occasions they were suppose call a prescription in and it never was called in. I had to call back several times only to get an answering machine every time. I am still waiting on a prescription for yeast infectionā€¦.. day 3 of no success from Shenandoah Womanā€™s healthā€¦. Not even a phone call after messages left on their answering machine. Additionally when I call I for an appointment I always get the answering machine stating they will call back. I have to call them backā€¦. Again this is usually a 2 to 3 day process.

I just love this OBGYN. The are amazing, sweet, caring, understanding on why I call every week about something. I am just absolutely so happy I went with my gut and went with this obgyn. I was recommended to go to many others. But for some reason this one spoke to me. My doctor is amazing he is the best. I can't remember his name even though he told me twice. In the same appointment. I just can't wait to my baby again in 3 weeks šŸ˜© šŸ˜ I'm so thankful for this ongyns office. ALSO they have a spa in the same exact building I do t even have to leave the building if I want to go get a massage or just sit in a room and relax. This is the best.

Nice place but VERY hard to get in touch with. They make you leave a message to schedule and they don't even call you back. This has happened to me twice now. I went to the ER Thursday night, called them Friday and they never called back, it is now Monday and I'm still waiting

Would not recommend. Misinformation when calling this establishment. I showed up six minutes late after a long commute to the doctorā€™s office. After calling to inform them of my anticipated tardiness to my appointment I was informed they could still see me. Upon arrival I was turned away at the front desk. I never received their ā€œnew patient paper workā€ by mail or email. It took me over a month to get this appointment. This was an inconsiderate waste of time. Due to living in a rural area, this is the nearest location that accepts my health insurance. I am willing to make a further drive to another doctors office.

Iā€™ve left a separate negative review a few months back, but didnā€™t comment on the actual birth of my baby last year. The midwife on call that day did several very painful cervical checks throughout even though I didnā€™t want them, was about to break my water without consent had I not asked what the heck she was doing, and while I was pushing she was talking to the nurse about sports and acting like I wasnā€™t even there, during the most important moment of my life.

Finally feel OK to post my review. I had twins via C-Section in 2019. When I finally started to have a cycle again, it was very irregular; 30-50 day cycles. Was told to come back closer to a year PP to give it time to regulate. Ok, will do. Nothing changed, and they diagnosed me with PCOS and infertility (which I donā€™t believe to be true at all). When I went back a year PP, I also mentioned having pelvic pains. It was just written off and not taken seriously. In 2021, Dr Visgar wanted to perform a laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis due to the pains. Insurance didnā€™t allow that since I was on Medicaid at that time, because SWHC said I ā€œdidnā€™t have enough appointments about painā€. Well, if I come multiple times about it, and you do nothing to help me, why would I continue to come and waste money? Around this time my husband and I started to dabble in fertility medications since we wanted another baby, and since SWHC had me firmly believing I was just infertile. Fast forward, I was still dealing with the pains but they were getting worse. Fertility meds worked and resulted in a MC, to which Dr Nelson told me ā€œWell obviously your reproductive organs work, we just need the baby to stickā€, besides that the medications affected my mental health horribly to the point where I had to seek additional help with that. In addition to the excruciating pelvic pain, I started having horrible back pain as well as heel pain. At first I thought those were two different issues on their own. Pain gets so bad I message Dr Visgar to do the laparoscopy in Nov 2022 since I had private insurance now. Dr Nelson responded and we scheduled it for Dec. At my pre-op, Nelson was VERY unprofessional asking me numerous times ā€œAre you sure you want to do this?ā€, along with other things like, ā€œThere COULD be something there, but there also may not be and we did this small surgery for nothingā€. I was so gutted and shocked that I was being asked and told these things. Surgery day comes and goes, Nelson apologized to my mother who was driving me to my home, and briefly explained what he found, but didnā€™t stay to discuss things with me. At my Post-Op he still didnā€™t fully explain or answer my questions. He never once apologized for doubting me and the pain I was having. He even tried to make my post-op very light hearted and he was trying to laugh some things off. I asked if it contributed to my ā€œinfertilityā€ and was told no. After my c-section in 2019, before my uterus contracted back to normal size, the scar tissue built up and connected my uterus to my abdominal wall right below my belly button. My uterus was being stretched all that way, causing all my pain. After that laparoscopy I felt like a brand new person; the back, heel, and pelvic pain all disappeared, and I was even able to become pregnant naturally 2 months later! I know a lot of people have praised Nelson, but the experience I had with him still makes me livid almost 1 year later! All the pain and heartbreak and not feeling heard, just for there to have been an actual issue that couldā€™ve been resolved sooner- and then he couldnā€™t ever apologize to me and STILL tried to laugh it off. The only Drs at SWHC I truly liked was Visgar and Greer. After the experience with Nelson, I switched to a different OBGYN office right after I got pregnant.

They never answer the phone for appointments and even if you try to go in person theyā€™ll make you wait 20+ min and still not schedule your appointment. Not to mention they never call back when you leave messages

7 months postpartum, I have never received one call from this place whether to check in on with me and my baby. And they never call to schedule my 6 week postnatal. To this day I have never received my 6 week postnatal checkups.

I love the doctors and staff but the swap to Augusta health has been a nightmare. I came into the clinic for my IUD removal and not only did they have me in the system as a 4 year old girl, but the apt was put under 'phone apt' or something equally generic. I can't get in touch over the phone anymore with basic questions, making apts, or talking to a nurse. You have to leave a message but no one ever calls you back. I'm very concerned about the safety of my information now and making sure that medicines/ treatments are correct on my records.

Iā€™ve have always had good experiences here with all the staff & doctors. Extremely friendly & accommodating for all patients. The phone system can be difficult to navigate. The office gets very busy but staff is fast and efficient!!

I canā€™t remember what her name is, but the head nurse who you go into the back of to see for the first couple appointments is such a catty, disrespectful person. She made snide remarks about my plant based diet, and mental health issues. Also, when I went in for fluids as the doctors said I could request, she came in to administer them and she wagged her head back and forth saying ā€œwho told you about fluids?!ā€ Like she was so pressed about giving me fluids. I said ā€œmy doctorā€¦ā€. And sheā€™s given me nasty looks every time Iā€™m with in sight of her. Horrible person. With that being said, Dr Visger is a great OBGYN. She really does take care of me. I had a great birthing experience with her. Itā€™s that nurse who needs to be fired for her attitude.

Very poor customer service. My fiancĆ© had an appointment at 1215 and itā€™s now 130 and still waiting. Many ppl went in before her and apparently they forgot to check her in. Instead of expediting her, sheā€™s still patiently waiting while other ppl go in front. Again, poor customer service considering what this establishment for. Recommend somewhere else completely.
