Finally revisited Sugarbush since i was last there in 1986 for a HS ski trip. Things have changed quite a bit, and for the better - i was able to order my lift ticket online for instance. When i arrived, they checked me in quickly, and the guys in the rental department were helpful in getting me the proper skis & boots, and i was out the door quickly. It was early in the season around Dec 20, so there were naturally a smaller number of lifts & trails open, and they were making snow too, but skiing & service was good, and what i had expected.

Along with Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush is one of my three top places to ski in the Northeast. They have tons of great tree skiing, a nice little village at Lincoln Peak, and just an overall great vibe at this mountain. There are a ton of great local skiers here as well. I couldn't recommend a visit to Sugarbush highly enough. If the snow is good, you'll have just as much fun here as you would anywhere out west. Some of these photos, by the way, are from a late season trip, I can assure you Sugarbush is awesome during the heart of winter season!!!

Came on March 27th for some spring skiing, glad I did. Turned into a bluebird day. Conditions were good overall. Crowd was moderate, everyone looked to be having the same fantastic time I was. The staff here is really efficient and friendly. The little " village" at the base of the mountain is pretty cool too. I enjoyed this place, will definitely return next winter. Sugarbush rocks!

I’ve been to a few different ski resorts in Vermont, and this one is my favorite. It’s great for groups because although it’s a large mountain, even if the group gets separated, there’s only so many places the trails lead to. Absolutely beautiful. There are lodges (bathrooms) in the middle of the mountain. Love the fact that we had access to Mount Ellen as well! There’s offshoot trails as well so you can go through the trees as well at times. We’ve been multiple times!

Skiing wasn't the best but that's mother nature's fault, it snowed but the wind was heavy and they shut down the lifts early. Ticketing and lift lines were efficient but the lifts were slow, didn't seem like high speed quads. This whole experience cost $185 for a single day ticket, also had to park far away and shuttle so in all I got less than four hours on the slopes for that price.

Visited in the summer for a work event. The area is stunning and the views from the resort are spectacular. The building architecture is a unique spin on New England barns. The main function room and various bars and dining areas were well kept. The staff and food that was catered by the resort was fantastic. I was looking for a place to get a ski pass this winter and I was so blown away by how well run Sugarbush was that I will be buying a pass there this winter.

WORST SKI RESORT IN THE UNITED STATES!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! BROKEN AND OUTDATED LIFTS, NOT GROOMED AT ALL, 100% MOGULS, not kid-friendly, they do NOT answer their phones. Do NOT believe any review more than ONE green circle. This place is a total disaster on all levels. I've been skiing for 45 years, been to 40 resorts at least- California, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Germany, Austria. First time skiing in Vermont. Had a great day at Killington 45 miles away. Then went to Sugarbush. First of all, this tiny town has very limited lodging. We called their main lodging phone number at 6 p.m. and no one answered for the rest of the night (recorded messages- CLOSED). Really? -you close all your phone lines for lodging and your resort at 6 p.m. or earlier, and have no one to answer the phone? No lodging in Montpelier either. We ended up having to stay the night in Burlington, Vt. which was 1 hour and 15 minutes away. We drove here the next morning. 2nd- we got a bad parking spot, and there is no tram/shuttle bus to bring you up to the ski resort entrance like some other resorts do. 3rd- Rude employees! 4th- been skiing 45 years, and been to 40+ ski resorts, and this is the first resort I ever been to that THEY DO NOT GROOM ANY RUN AT ALL!!!!!! As a result, 100% of the runs have huge moguls, ice, sloppy snow, and at the bottom of the runs... huge ruts, and ripples. We saw many, many kids crying because of the moguls, and adults were NOT HAVING FUN AT ALL slowly weaving in-and-out of the non-stop moguls. We saw a big grooming fleet off to the side just sitting there, and obviously they do NOT have employees to drive them or groom nightly like every resort does, or they are just cheap and lazy. 5th- there is a very long connecting lift called "Slide Brook Express Quad" that connects the left side of the resort (Lincoln Peak Village) with the right side of the resort (Mt. Ellen Base). It was Saturday when we were there, and it was extremely crowded, and we heard that this lift supposedly never runs because it's broken. Seriously? An IKON pass resort with broken chairlifts. The lifts at this resort were mostly old, and slow. Just a couple of "Express lifts" and the employees do NOT know how to run lift lines! 6th- been skiing 45 years, so I know the difference between a "blue square intermediate" run and a "black diamond expert" run. Several of the blue square runs were mis-labeled (on purpose probably to attract families with kids, or learners). I know the difference, and these should be black diamond expert runs (again- huge moguls). This place is NOT an IKON pass worthy resort at all. Why on earth would you come to this horrible ski resort, when Killington is only 45 miles away and has nothing but groomed runs, a huge terrain park, express lifts, and helpful and nice employees. DO NOT GO TO SUGARBUSH!

This place is a gem. Down to earth folks and great slopes. What a great couple of mountains. Obligatory crowded lift on Prez day weekend shot. We stayed over on Mt Ellen most of the day and had a blast. Will be back!

So much fun!!! Trials for literally everyone! Going up Heaven's Gate was beautiful and like being on top of the world! Absolutely loved both mountains.

I used to have a pass here maybe 20 years ago and continue to find pockets I've never found before. I am partial to tree skiing and Castle Rock is basically "little mad river glen" and Mt. Ellen continues to be full of surprises every time I'm stuck there... Which segues to the missing ⭐ star from this review... I'm not sure if The Mountain is offering a fair livable wage for their lifties. They can't seem to achieve the critical mass of human resources required to run the lifts. Often the first lift to stop due to staffing shortage is the one that connects the two sides of the resort (Lincoln vs Mt Ellen) Now, getting between these base areas comes down to the shuttle which is operated by a third party vendor (something The Resort has little to no agency over). It kind of ruined my plans of skiing with my friends all weekend because it snowed (SHOCKER LOL) and the shuttle stopped running because the plows weren't keeping up on the access roads. I spent a blizzard-y Saturday afternoon by myself lapping lifts in fresh pow every run while my friends were stuck at Jerryville, Lincoln unless they wanted to relocate their cars which they eventually did but MAN, PAY YOUR LIFTIES!!

Awesome on powder days and spectacular views on bluebird days. Lots of fun trails and woods for all levels. For parks, try Mt. Ellen, which has the larger parks and with more features, plus park crew keeps it constantly well maintained. Overall one of the biggest and best ski and boarding mountains in the east.

Was very disappointed by the lift ticket prices for a Saturday day pass. $230+ dollars is ridiculous. Even more so when the chair lift lines take 15 minutes to get through. I'll finish with two positives though: First, the views on the mountain are spectacular. Two, they do have a nice shuttle service to get people to and from the parking lots. Very organized and efficient.

There are definitely some fun trails and woods to ski, but I found the signage to be confusing. Just got stuck in some really gnarly and hard to ski woods but there was no signage that alerted me of what lies ahead. Also you have to walk up an altitude of 150 feet from the parking lot to the lifts. Not fun in ski boots. Very expensive for what you’re getting.

Nice terrain. generally a more low key crowd than at Killington. Much cuter little town. Lift system at North always seems to have problems. But the GM seems cool and improvements seem to be coming. Great little bar at North and friendly atmosphere. Worth the extra effort to miss the less friendly crowd and generally not hospitality minded staff at Killington.

Sugarbush is a great place for families, has amazing views and overall is a great place for winter activities as well as summer activities. Also a good place to plan events at.

Always have a great time at sugar bush. The mountain biking is gnarly with some seriously blown out trails, but it makes for some crazy riding. The staff is super friendly and the views are the best in Vermont. Be ready for steep loose rock gardens with endless booters and rocks to jump off.

Beautiful Ski resort. It has something for everyone. We were lucky to get 12 inches of fresh powder while we were there!

I've worked here on and off for almost ten years and it's one of my favorite places to be in the winter. It's inviting, interesting and inclusive. There really is something for everyone here!

Nice expansive mountain with diverse terrain to ski. Can get really cold which can turn the snow into hard pack. Lodge and dining options are clean and well kept. Things can get a little pricey so if you can scoop up a lift ticket on the cheap it’ll make the costs of beer less painful. Luckily, Lawson’s Finest Liquids is a short drive away for post skiing beers.
