This place is so shady!!!! As a young girl in her 20s i did NOT FEEL SAFE at all staying here. I'm making this review a year later because this place still crosses my mind from time to time. The rooms smell like cigarettes and washrooms are DISGUSTING. The microwave was so nasty and dirty too. It looks like there are people who live there all year round. They also wont give you your cash deposit back unless you ask for it. DO NOT GO HERE.

The ladies up front were polite and understanding, but that's where the good ends. Our room was a mess as soon as we walked in the door. The safety latch was broken, the A/C looked like it had caught on fire, the smoke alarm was chirping due to low battery, and the bedsheets had about seven different colors on them - none of them appealing. I understand that this is a $60 hotel room, but good lord. A back alley way is likely safer and cleaner. We decided to not even stay the night, just sacrificed our money and re-booked elsewhere. Would not recommend.

I’ve stayed in many Red Roof Inns and they are always simple, but clean and functional rooms. This hotel could only be improved by burning it to the ground and starting over. Everything in the room was old and stained, and had a general smell of cigarette smoke even though the room was supposedly non-smoking. That said, the check in lady was very nice.

Stayed here because someone i knew recommended it to me, so i thought it would be better than this. The major issue is that they dont dust, so its super hard to breathe in the room, especially when sleeping. The dresser drawers are completely broken, stains everywhere, wifi is very slow, half of the right side of the bed is broken, no heat, alot of the outlets dont work room cards de-magnetize by touching anything and overall is far away from everywhere.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and I wish I could have given this hotel a better rating but the room was disgusting. After a long 7 hour drive from Chicago, we just needed to rest. The mold in the shower was clearly present. A drawer was missing from the dresser. Parts of the walls in the room and bathroom had fallen off. This room should have never been rented to a customer. The only things that were clean were the sheets/pillowcases and even those were questionable because there was hair on them and I'm bald. This place needs a lot of help and I don't see myself ever staying here again.

Well, let's see. Blood on the toilet seat. Mirrors are dirty, making me feel like I was just given a room , with just a bed made to make it look okay. Tv remote is dead. No dresser drawers. Refrigerator doesn't work. Also, no bath towels in the room, when asked for them, they tried to give the run around saying they didn't have any. I dried off with a bath mat because that was the next biggest thing given. Also the tub leaks through the caulking when you're done . Go elsewhere

You get what you pay for with this room. Some other reviews say it's really dirty but my room was fine, although the latch on the door was missing (dead bolt was still there so not a huge problem) If I come back to the area I'll probably look for a different place, but I wouldn't complain if I had to come here again

Management staff have been very attentive to our needs that was a hiccup at first but a manager named Amanda stepped in and made sure that we would totally fine and satisfied with everything she made a room change for us and again kudos to Amanda understand

After a 20 hour drive from Florida my primary concern was my head hitting a pillow. At 1am, I'm partly disabled and need a cane to get around. There is no handicap access from the parking lot that I could find. Had to climb over the curb to a flooded sidewalk. Only one pillow on the bed, fortunately I had one in the car. Lights not functioning. Smoke detector needed a battery, chirped all night. TV didn't work. Carpet was so dirty I could feel it on my feet. AC/heater barely worked and the screen on the front was falling off. Bathroom was passable, but the tub was chipped and towels were threadbare and only a half role of t-p. I complained to the desk in the morning and requested a refund. Was told I have to speak with the GM. Several attempts to call were unsuccessful. Staff was apologetic and nice. I will be contacting the corporate office and whoever is in charge of franchise operations. This property needs a complete overhaul.

I visited in 2014. Obviously not a 5 star. Clean enough for a short stay. Comfortable bed, tv and bathroom. Seemingly clean towels. Ac and heat works well. Safe and fridge provided. Says no smoking but I still smelled smoke in my room. Maybe they should install smoke detectors and charge people whom violate. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Did not use any of the facilities and amenities. WIFI is provided but I did not use it.

Desperately in need of help - lots of paint would be a good start. And something to deaden the noise - it seemed as though the people in the parking lot were in the room with us! The clerk at the front desk was very nice, but I think this was my last stay at a RRI. Picture is the uncovered nasty heat/ac unit. Gross!

Dissappointing birthday stay… Stayed here last night, my boyfriend and i barely got any sleep with people running up and down the walkway out front and frankly just being worried about our safety and the car outside! The room and front office smelt disgusting like cigarettes, the box spring, pillow, towels and blankets all had some sorts of stains, the shower floor was brown, there was splatters on walls, and doors. The lock on the door was missing screws and looked as thought is recently got broken in. Both my boyfriend and I did not feel safe or clean, I had a blakent and pillow in the car we brought in and shared because we didn’t feel the beds were clean (we slept on top of the blanket with it folded over us !!) Overall we made the best of a bad situation but I do not recommend! The pictures online are very very misleading!

By far the worst Red Rood I have ever stayed at. From roaches 🪳, to terrible bed stains and rude customer service… I would only stay here If I truly had no where else to go.

I had stayed here before years ago and it was cheap and cheerful but every subsequent stay since it gets worse and shadier and after my last experience I won't stay here anymore. It's so run down and sketchy and the furniture is old and decrepit. The power didn't even work in the first room they tried to give me and the entire front grill of the air conditioner was missing. The 2nd room the bed was old and broke down and uneven and the pillows were old and flat and shoved into a small square pillowcase I guess to make them seem fluffier. The room smelled clean but the floor was sticky with cleaning product and the room looked like it had been stripped of everything and then they just threw some random chairs in there because there was an upholstered chair at the desk instead of a desk chair. I was concerned about safety because it seemed really shady in general there. And I'd stayed there before and not felt that way. I slept about four hours before I bailed and never took a shower. The front desk is behind bulletproof glass and there's a sign that I think is permanent saying they'll be right back so you have to just wait an unknown amount of time to check in or if you need anything. I generally like red roof inn but I think this place needs it's name revoked because I expect a certain level of ok when I pick them to stay at. Also the price I paid online was higher than the price on the sign when I got there. It wasn't worth the cheaper price either btw

First my husband and I was excited about the prices and what the room offered until we checked in the room. There was no microwave or refrigerator, the maintenance man was contacted to locate one for the room. The key works when it wants to. There was stains on the comforter and the sheets has holes in them. The lamps in the room has a lot of rust on them. It was a hot mess, I do not recommend that anyone stays in this hotel unless you are prepared. Also there was no phone in the room to contact the front desk.NEVER EVER EVAAAA EVA STAY HERE..I RATHER SLEEP IN MY VEHICLE.

The rooms aren’t bad, but the customer service experience was horrible. In order to rent a room you must make a cash deposit. Apparently in order to get your deposit back you need to bring back a copy of your check in receipt (I was not verbally told this by the person who checked me in and it isn’t written anywhere on the premises). When I went to check out the rep informed me I couldn’t have my deposit until I found the paper. I brought up the fact it wasn’t written on the paperwork detailing the deposit process; he said it didn’t matter because no one reads it (he also told me “thank you for me telling him how to do his job”). When I came back with the paperwork his response was “that wasn’t that hard was it”. I took back my deposit and told him he was horrible at his job. He stated he was going to ban me from the hotel, good thing I plan on never coming back. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

Got a handicapped room with no way into the room except Over a curb and no handicapped shower. But it's fine there was brown stuff in the shower so we didn't bother. The cups had hair and stuff all Over them the whole place was dirty. Fake lashes on the sink and all. They did how ever leave a bottle of blue cleaner so I guess I could clean myself. Half the lights didn't work. The lady at the desk was super nice tho!

The room was dirty, the bathtub needs a makeover, the socket by sink not working, sheets had stains on them, there was no smoke detector.

I will never stay here again! The pictures on the website were nowhere near what the room actually looks like. A complete dump! 100$ for a night and there was no microwave, fridge, or coffee pot. Our room didn't even have a phone. The safe was broken and the deadbolt was ripped off the door. Not to mention the dresser had no drawers. And it looked like the TV was the cheapest smallest one they could afford. I would rather have slept in my car than this. My key card didn't even work. Had to get a new one. For anyone wanting a room, trust me when I say it "spend your money elsewhere"!!!! Don't waste your money on this rathole. I give it 1 star and that's being generous....

Don’t freakin go here. This was the most filthiest hotel in Michigan. The photos fooled us and there was no refund available. The room was dirty, smelly,, missing sheets. There’s so much I can’t even continue to type. Put it like this if I owned a dog I would be hesitant to allow the dog to stay here. Trash every outside, rat traps, hookers etc… I should have known something was not right when we got to our room, stains on the door..

Really old smelly motel. Very misleading pictures and some review. This motel is old, really old. It needs to ton of paint just to keep up with regular maintenance. Im guessing it didnt see much of it in years. Everything is falling apart and has a ton of aged dirt. Sigaret smell is everywhere. Also, my room was missing chair. A lot of rooms are facing busy road where heavy traffic is even at night so its not very possible to get much sleep. Stuff is nice and thats only decent about it. Wont recommend it to anyone

For a budget motel choice, this place is decent. Staff at check-in was very nice. My room was ok, no problem with the bed or bathroom. Cleanliness was fine, with some minor areas that could need improvement. Furniture and lighting is so-so, A/C a bit loud. WiFi is w/o password and fast. Overall would stay here again when looking for no-thrills accommodation. The Coach Grill nearby was a great find, it is open late.

I wouldn’t recommend this place - we got into our room and immediately noticed the smells of cigarette smoke and urine. My dog was sniffing the walls - most likely from urine. There were old blood stains on the mattress and a fist sized hole in the wall that was definitely caused by a punch. We checked out an hour checking in and hoped to get a refund, but there is a 15-minute time window for refunds that was not mentioned during check in. We didn’t get a refund. The photos we saw online were EXTREMELY misleading to its cleanliness.

Don't do it. I got the same room as Stephanie did a couple months ago—the AC is the same! the room has no smoke detector—there's a cage where it should be and its wires are still there. The windows don't open and the fans don't work because the knobs have been removed. I figured out how to turn on the wall thermostat but it doesn't do anything. The shower knob's wall plate is hanging loose, letting loads of water into the wall. The dresser was missing two drawer fronts—one had been completely removed but the second drawer was still there, just without a front. The TV power cord was draped over the front of the dresser and plugged in where the top drawer used to be. There was a red stain of some kind on the bedspread. The mattress or its cover was also stained and visible through the sheet. There was half a roll of toilet paper but it was sitting on the toilet because there's no spindle for the wall dispenser. We left after ~30 minutes in the room, choosing to sleep in the car at a rest stop

One star is to much for this hotel. It needs negative stars. Aside from not being cleaned at all. It was very unsafe. People were drinking and partying outside the rooms.

I used to live in the area (up the street, just north of 11 mile), so I've seen this hotel in a better state. When I was told we had reservations there, I thought nothing of it. Until we arrived. This is the worst hotel that I've stayed in. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillow was so unusable, my traveling partner used his jacket, bundled around the pillow. Remote didn't work, no drawers in the room, outlets didn't work, I can go on... I couldn't be paid to ret8rn to this establishment.

  • 1/5 Olmedic 10 months ago on Google
Terrible! The room had no AC working. Both beds each had a single tiny pillow, that was nothing but a throw pillow wrapped in an oversized pillow case. The bathroom doorknob was missing on the inside and you could last it. The smell inside was moldy and musty. We asked for new pillows and never got any. I would never recommend this place and will never use Red Roof Inn again.

The rooms were good and bad me and my family swapped rooms 3 times one for. Paint falling off the ceiling then because the door was broke and they way they fixed it was crazy they pushed the ac in and went in though the little hole the ac went in and all of the stuff we had was pushed everywhere the showers are different in every room the acc different in every room too and some are broke fire drill is crazy sounded like we were getting robbed manager screaming EVERYONE OUT thought it was a set up. Because there was no fire or no smoke anywhere terrible experience
