This place is awful, if you can limp yourself a little further go to Beaumont or Henry Ford. I came here in respiratory distress - a combination of (confirmed) influenza and asthma. Despite having O2 sats in the 80s and an audible wheeze I was sat in the waiting room for 15 minutes before a nice couple threw a fit to get me some help. I was placed in a hallway near a lot of sick and elderly patients (which is the setting where I had all my treatment and conversations with medical staff), despite the fact that these people were told I had confirmed influenza. Finally, after nearly a half hour of being there struggling to breathe I received a breathing treatment, which only partially helped my symptoms. I was told that on another night I would have been admitted for acute asthma exacerbation, but on this particular night the hospital was over-full and couldn’t accommodate me. The doctor wrote me a script for promethazine with codeine - despite the fact that I’d told 3 people I have an anaphylactic allergy to codeine. While in this ER (in respiratory distress) I never had an IV started, never had anyone take my medication history, never had my temperature taken. This place is over-crowded, under-staffed, and dangerous.

This hospital and its medical staff killed my husband with their negligence, incompetence and carelessness. Voicing my concern to Margaret White in Patient Relations, she told me that my husband wasn't the only person to die of Covid, she has the compassion of a rattlesnake! Out of 5 stars, this hospital rates a 1.8, my dog's veterinarian has a rating of 4.5! This hospital has had a bad reputation for patient care going back to when it was known as South Macomb.

Worest experience ever! My 84 yr old mom was admitted at 1:30am her meds were not given on time, she went 17 hours without food. She waited over 30 min to use the bathroom because no one answers the buzzed, just found out that the breathing treatments she supposed to have every 12 hours have not been done. The Nurse say they are short handed, under staff and the med techs dont no what thete doing. Rooms are dirty and staff is rude there is no compassion or professionalism in this hospital! Never again.

I highly recommend staying away from this hospital. They charge 10x what they should for items and refuse to work with you at all financially. They also force their religious views on you with morning prayers over the speakers, parking spots for clergy instead of pregnant women, and limit what doctors associated with the hospital can do for patients. Many doctors here are rude and condescending to their co-workers and patients.

I wish I could give -10 if possible. Worst hospital system ever. Their behavior is very unprofessional and they have no transparency at all. If you want your relatives to die, bring them here.

I came in through the emergency dept about 3 am this morning and the nurses were fabulous to me and my son. One of the ladies put an extra bed in the room with me because my 10yr old son had been sleeping the chair for hours. They were all so pleasant and so kind. Took very good care of me. None of my nurses were rude, none of them attitudes.. they were all kind, caring and patient with me. They stayed on their jobs! The doctors did all they could to help me and I can say job well done!!! To my team... I can’t remember their names but they know who they are. God bless

Keep your loved ones far from here. They told my grandmother she was perfectly fine 2 days ago..she died today due to hospital neglect. They don't care about you here. Disturbingly careless staff and doctors. Run far away from them

Worst hospital ever, and I was born here! Everytime I go without fail they take 6 hours for the entire visit, I've sat next to a man that had his femur sticking out that was waiting for 15 minutes before I got in and he still didn't get to go in the back for another 15. Please if you value your life and it's an actual emergency don't go here, you'll die

Do not bring your loved ones to this hospital!! The powers that be would rather have residents (WHO ARE IN THEIR TRAINING) take care of your complicated COVID positive loved ones rather than have PROPERLY TRAINED attending hospitalists see them. Yes, that means a resident who hasn’t been in a hospital setting in several years, let alone been trained in such manner, might be “managing” your gravely I’ll family member. More simply put? Yes, that means a dental/urology/foot resident might be seeing your love one. They say “heroes work here”?? Did not know heroes only greet their patients from the doorway in an effort to avoid “getting sick”. If I could give 0 out 5 stars I would.

I recently had a 60 hour visit for an infected tooth. Wednesday 12am I arrived, 30 minute wait time, ER is always scrambled and full, but the nurses are caring and kind considering what they deal with. The oral surgeon on staff did a great job and overall I had wonderful nurses.

My dad was taken there this morning for accidental ingestion. He has severe early onset dementia and can be a challenge. ALL of the staff (doctors, nursing, techs) in the ER were amazing! They were patient and kind to him and took wonderful care of him. They were efficient and timely. When he got anxious and agitated they were calming and understanding. Our nurse Michelle was the greatest. Thank you for taking such good care of my dad!

WORST EMERGENCY ROOM EVER. Waited over 4 hours until I finally threw in the towel and left. Many others had been waiting much longer and just as angry. My whole right side of my stomach is inflamed and sore to the touch. Guess I’ll have to take my chances because there’s absolutely no chance in receiving help at this hospital . Never never again.

My husband had surgery at this hospital this week and the care from walking in the front door to discharge was outstanding. Of course we really like his surgeon, Dr. Clifford Houseman or we wouldn’t have chose him but the nursing and nurse assistant staff on the fifth floor was some of the best we have every had. Very upbeat, kind, caring, helpful, knowledgeable and always there when needed. I want to give a shout out to his nurses Melissa, Susan and Theresa along with all of their co-workers which make up a great team. The nurses had nothing but positive things to say about their manager and hospital!

Went to ER with horrible pain in leg, knee and hip. The staff was caring and quick. I waited no longer than 10 minutes to be taken back. They ran 3 different tests all within 2 hours and had results back quickly. Truly caring knowledgeable Doctors, nurses and staff. They were able to stop the horrible pain I had. I read bad reviews on here, but I however had caring, prompt care here.

I gave birth July 8 2020 to a beautiful perfect baby girl. I had gone in because of preclampsia. It was the most terrifying experience HOWEVER the staff was AMAZING. More than amazing really. All the nurses and doctors- Papple, Barcardi, Kassab, Tumaneng, and all the nurses. Edie the nurse was the one who helped during my crazy labor- I had a team- but she let me squeeze her hand. I can’t say enough amazing things. I love all of you and am extremely grateful.

My cousin worked there for a few months, and the workers and manager were really unpleasant, and everyone did whatever they wanted. Manager wasn't a manager at all. He or she was basically telling others what to do and acting more like a friend than a manager. He or she also has own favorites. So, if you wish to work or be seen at this facility, I would advise against it. I strongly advise against it.

I went there because I was bleeding and pregnant. They treated me with poor service and had me sitting there for 3 to 4 hours wondering if my baby was dead or not. After telling me that my baby heart stopped and my baby was still in me, they showed no empathy or gave me kind words. They treated me like trash. Not like someone who just lost a baby. While on the phone with my fiancée, telling him the bad news and trying to calm him down, the doctor overheard my conversation and told me to take my time. Right after, 2 seconds later, he was tapping my legs so I can open my legs for a pelvic exam as I was still calming my man down. He proceeded to insert the tool which was very painful. He couldn't give any answers on why I miscarried. A nurse came in to remove the IV and basically snatched it out my hand. The service there sucked and I would advise you not to go there. I feel like my baby could've been saved, they just didn't care enough.
